UN Recovery Base...
Sgt. Petersen had some of his men collect the scientists and help them get out of the way. Their job here was done. No artifact, no job.
He helped the rest of the squads search for survivors among the carnage.
The thing that spooked him the most were the survivors. A full half of the wingsuited soldiers had survived. Some weren't looking so good, but they nevertheless survived.
The power armor boys were even in much better shape. A full ninety percent of those bastards made it. Some were almost fully healed.
He questioned one weak looking mercenary, not too hard mind you, but he still pressed the merc hard enough to get some answers.
When the system started to give out prezzies like candy a lot of these mooks took level 5 regeneration. It made sense to him. If you are dead power can't really help you. They were all tough bastards, even the talkative weasel.
"That one." He pointed at another merc trying to get away.
"Halt or I will shoot!" Barked Cpl Henderson.
The Merc didn't listen. He went for his gun instead. Henderson shot him once with the 50 calibers. It was a head shot. It wasn't pretty. Grey matter flew all over the place. Messy.
Petersen's hard gaze fell on the captured mercs. Most flinched, the others settled down. They got the message. This could be you.
Armed soldiers began to invade the camp again, but this time Petersen recognized the uniforms. "Little late. As always."
"Fuck you, Jamie." One of the seals replied.
"Love you too Bradley. Where were you boys when it was raining mercs?" Petersen waved his hand at all the dead bodies and destroyed implements of modern warfare.
"Ooh. What did I step in?" Sgt. Bradley tried to clean his boots on the fresh snow.

"Brains." Henderson sneered. "Looks like the boss is back?" He pointed at the light trail behind the descending Captain McLean.
"Good work Petersen." Captain McLean saw that his boys and the Seals had everything in order.
He went over to the sealing officer, "Andy join me. We need to talk to the old man."
Lieutenant Andrew Price was still distracted by the fact that Captain McLean, an officer he has known for well over a decade had come flying down from the sky without the aid of any device. "Richard, how the hell did you do that?"
"What? The flying? Didn't you guys get hooked up to the system?" He asked as they walked to the command bunker where Colonel Allister was waiting for them.
LEO. Galactic Federation Warship Far Justice.
"Captain analysis is complete. We have destroyed eighty percent of the illegal device. There are twelve small fragments that need to be collected. The earthling's interference stopped us from completely destroying the prohibited technology." The Far Justice science officer reported.
Captain Fo'Rkon was still watching the glowing contrail of the departed earthling. This did not bode well for either his mission or the quarantined planet. The event was only minutes old and already the planet produced beings of power equal to the Galactic Elites.
He stopped watching the earthling and accepted the report from the science officer. It was time to take decisive action.
"Send squads one through twelve. I want those fragments destroyed." He ordered.
The officer confirmed the order and went about carrying out his commander's wishes.
