《Magic Monsters Money》Intermission : Jane's Anecdote

The first time I saw master was when he defeated the Two-Headed Hound beast.
The moment he cut the beast, he looked like a hero that my late parents tell me about.
A [Magic Knight wielding a Crimson Sword] is how I see the young master now.
After that, I followed him walking through the forest.
I immediately lost sight of him. Not until I heard a weird scream accompanied with a bark. I went to the direction where it came from.
There, on the ground, the young master was lying unconscious with an Ashen Wolf pup standing on his chest. The pup looks very victorious. After that, it slept above him. It seems that it immediately got fond of young master after electrocuting him. It’s probably because there’s no one who lived after getting electrocuted from their attacks.
Since I did not want to touch the Ashen Wolf pup, I went back to the village and called Chief Trevor for help.
Even after saving our village, I was surprised hear from the Chief that young master is willing to help us. Although it was maid work, there are many merits in becoming one on his place.
When we arrived at his place, all seven of us were in awe the moment we see his mansion.
I could not believe when I heard that only two people we’re living in such a large mansion.
We we’re expecting the housekeeper as a scary person. But we were taken aback when we met Miss Petal.
The boys we’re enthralled by her elegance and beauty. Al wasn’t an exemption. So I reminded him that he already has a lover to bring his mind back to the world.
She taught us a lot of things. But the most important ones were to show respect and elegance.

The boys we’re given the heavy work, but they didn’t complain anything about it.

After two days of proper training from Miss Petal, we managed to learn the proper etiquette in being a house maid. The boys we’re able to adapt into the fancy atmosphere in this place. The only person who didn’t improve much was the clumsy Fina. She broke almost a dozen plates on her training, but the housekeeper didn’t mind and so did the master.
The master liked the way I cook our meal that he sometimes join us in the table.
The master is a very nice person that you can’t tell that he’s a noble. He always gives a reply every time we greet him. I can’t even hide the fact that he looks handsome to me. The other girls seem to agree with me excluding Ellie who’s probably not interested in men.
While I was busy cleaning in the hallway of the front door, I heard sounds of horses and a carriage stopping. I walked towards the door to see who arrived. But then I heard such conversations before I managed to open the door to make me stiffen for a moment.
“How shameless can you get Balerishk!? Do you think I’d allow you to stay in this house?”
“It’s not called ‘being shameless’ if you’re going to live with your fiancée, Cherlaine. Moreover, you do not have the right to stop me.”
Did I mishear that conversation just now? They’re master’s Fiancée?
I opened the door slowly to welcome the visitors. When I did, two beautiful nobles are standing in front of me. They were so beautiful that I inadvertently felt my cheek cramp in irritation. Irritation, why?
“G-good morning. Welcome to the house of Chardelier.”
The two noble women saw me stopped arguing and suddenly tilted their heads in confusion.

“Who are you?”
I bowed to them and answered their question.
“My name is Jane. I’m one of the new maids the master took in.”
The noble woman with green hair and glasses smiled after saying to raise my head.
“Well then Jane, can you please call your master that his fiancées have something to talk about.”
“Yes ma’am.”
I called Helen to guide the noble women to the parlor.
***
I was asked by master to assist one of his Fiancées to get their stuff since they decided to live in master’s mansion.
Before we left, the master came to me and told me something.
“Jane, after you comeback from the Goldenbloom Household, can you cook that pork dish you made last night for dinner if you’re not tired, Please?”
For a noble to say ‘Please’ to a commoner like me is…
“Wait, Jane. Are you okay? Your face is turning red. Did you catch a cold or something?”
Ah, geez! What am I thinking!
“P-probably. The days are getting colder day by day.”
Master looks slightly worried, but for him to be a worrywart to a commoner like me… I can’t help myself if I did.
Master suddenly put his hand in his pocked. After that, he pulled out 5 gold coins and gave it to me.
“If you pass thru downtown, buy some scarf for everyone. It’s hard if you get sick nowadays.”
He’s so nice.
“Yes master, I’ll buy some.”
Suddenly, Master became flustered.
“Didn’t I say not to call me master? We’re of the same age. It feels slightly awkward when you call me that. Just call me ‘sir’ or something else rather than ‘Master’.”
Because he reacted like that, I can’t help but giggle at his panicked words.
“Yes, Sir Chardelier. I’ll call you that.”
After bowing, I turned towards the door while putting the gold coins into my pocket.
Sir Chardelier is a very gentle person. I will never regret accepting this job. Maybe someday, I’ll meet a commoner man like him. And if lucky enough, marry him.

Leaves of Terranthir
DISCONTINUED - I won't be writing more of this fiction. Check out the latest post for a worlbuilding summary / final thoughts. Leaves of Terranthir is a gamelit blend of ARPG, action, fantasy, and slice of life. It's inspired in part by some of my favourite games, borrowing in themes, sense of exploration, and aesthetics from the Soulsborne and soulslike genre, mixed heavily with arpg itemization from Diablo/PoE style games. While many may remember their Soulslike experiences as nothing more than suffering, I personally loved the sense of progression, to prevail over challenges and monsters that seemed impossible to defeat at first. If any of that seems interesting to you, do check out the first chapter and let me know what you think. Cheers, and thanks for reading. Cover by Baconstrap.

Blaze
The story of a fire elemental's life in a world dominated by mages. He will have to learn how to manage betrayals, treachery, and maybe even love as he goes on adventures to find a meaning to it all. From dark, humble beginnings he will rise... or fall, devastating amounts in his journey across the world. Hello, Author here! I am, unfortunately, rather terrible at coming up with descriptions that seem to have the right amount of decorum and yet actually serve their function of adequately describing the story, so here's the coursenotes. - The story follows a fire elemental. (As you can tell from that, it is heavily besed on fantasy with mages and the like. Technology will not feature prominently) -As mentioned in the tags, this will have game-like aspects. (E.G. levels, stats. I will be trying to put my own twist on this notion however, so bear with me if the premise intrests you but you despise LitRpg) -It'll get rather dark, but not devastatingly so. (I'm trying to write a more complex story so it will have its dark moments, the prologue being one of them. Rest assured the whole story will not be this dark, though I'll make sure that no-one is a saint either) -The protagonist/protagonists will not be a Mary-Sue. (The plural will be understood when I'm further into the story. They also won't be impossiby unlikeable such as those in many Light novels.) -There is no prophecy (Anyone who says there is, is lying, trust me.)
