《Magic Monsters Money》Intermission: The Three Councilors

“There’s no way I would allow a human that isn’t a hero, much less a heretic, to wield the Immortal Sword of Giants!”
“I second Geral’s decision. There’s no way I would let someone hold it especially if the enemy are the Gods. I don’t care even if he’s the Grandson of Godfre. Putting our race on the risk of annihilation because of conspiring with their enemy will become a bad move. I wish for his highness to think of it deeply.”
The one called Geral objectively denied Teldarg’s decision of letting Key wield the sword. The reason for this was that, he has a bad history with Key’s grandfather, Godfre. These were very obvious to everyone in the room, but Beld had a different reason so he supported him.
“Didn’t I tell you this earlier Teldarg? Geral and Beld can see the downside of this decision that you will make.”
“Even I am aware of this fact. But everyone here is missing the point of my words. That young man out there repulsed a God using his own strength. Is that not enough to convince you that he’s a valuable asset to our country?”
Mayly made an ‘I told you so’ expression while standing beside Teldarg. But Teldarg kept making a stern expression towards the council members in the room.
“If he’s really that powerful like you said, it’s only a matter of time before he would turn his blade against us.”
“What you’re talking about Ulrok is something not likely to happen.”
Teldarg immediately shot down the impetus of unrest that the dwarf named Ulrok tried to rise.
“When I visited him today, I was able to see through his character. Unlike his Grandfather, he is not filled with hatred. When I look into his eyes, all I can see is a child that’s only curious about many things. I was able to tell that when I told him about our secret contraption. I can’t forget how his eyes sparkled for an instant.”

Everyone’s faces became pale while listening to their King. Not because of how merry he was doing it, but because he mentioned something that shouldn’t be.
“Y-you told him about our secret contraption?!”
Geral looked like couldn’t believe it that he inadvertently stood from his seat and slammed the table with his hands.
“Yes, but I wasn’t serious about it. Well if he did ask, I would not think twice in telling him so. After all, his grandfather was one of the magic engineers that tried to build it. Maybe he can continue where he left.”
Teldarg’s argument was sound that Geral couldn’t refute it.
“But if you’re really defiant of my idea then I won’t push further on that part. However, we still have to decide whether he is worthy of the sword or not.”
Since the mood has gotten heavy for Geral, Teldarg changed the topic.
“He is not a hero or a person that has any referral from any kingdom or temple. It may sound like I’m greedy, but we need something to make him compensate for it.”
Seeing that Teldarg would let them finish the meeting if they don’t agree with him, Ulrok can only sigh heavily.
“Ulrok is right. Maybe we can receive some payment if he really wants to take the sword. Uhg! This makes us sound like greedy people.”
Like stabbing himself with a dagger, Beld made himself feel disgusted by his own words.
In contrast to that, Teldarg’s expression was bright since his will was followed.
“Come on everyone! We have to rejoice!”
Because of his sudden joyful roar, everyone in the room including the guards stiffen with surprised expressions.
“If he manages to raise the sword, that means we get a lot of Mithril!”
Teldarg purposely didn’t say this immediately during the meeting since he wanted to surprise his people. But it seems that it was too effective as the three council members inadvertently broke the chairs while screaming “What?”
And during at that time, they didn’t notice that a pair of eyes glowing in the darkness observing them.
When he saw the dwarves have come into an agreement, a smile was drawn in the darkness.
“Now, now. Maybe I can raise Key’s peerage with this.”
After muttering those words, the eyes sunk into the darkness of the shadow of a pillar.

Hello everybody, BoredNerdBooks here. In this web novel I bring back to life the story Binary blood. For those of you who have read the Original, my story operates with the same basic premise but with a few changes like who the main character is and to how the LitRPG, mission, shop, and classes work.(I made them more powerful) And now to the real synopsis. So a weird day starts when you wake up in an escape pod hurtling towards a planet with no idea how you got there. A terrible day is when you get attacked by weird semi-robotic monsters. And an absolutely AWESOME day ends with you getting superpowers because of it. Many thanks to The Irregular for giving me permission to write this. Also, I do not own the cover image if whoever owns it wants it down contact me and I will replace it.
