Scene 3 - The Beggar
Just as Dela was moping, Sol moved closer to her, tilting his head in a questioning manner, “Will we be going to places with yummy treats?”
Luna moved to the right of Sol and nodded her head, “Yah! Where are we going? Are we going to more places to eat?”
Dela glanced her face to Sol and instantly turned red, “So close! To close! A maiden's heart can’t take this much stimulation!”
Saren crossed his hands behind his head and thought about what Elder Sam said... or was even an Elder? Anyways, he quickly came to the conclusion that this so-called Elder Sam could crush him and his siblings with a mere pinky finger if he wanted to.
‘But since he allowed us to accompany his daughter he must be trying to get on our good side… The thing I don’t understand is, how did he know about us being disciples of Master Mo? I feel uneasy… we have to tread carefully, who knows what dangers lurk in the light…’
If this so called Elder Sam knew who they were, then who else had this information?
“Hey big bro, we’re going! Catch up or we’ll leave you behind!”
Saren awoke from his thoughts to find that the rest of his group had moved far ahead.
He immediately broke into a sprint with a yell, “Wait up you little devils!”
Elder Sam watched as the four disappeared into the distance, and then turned to the beggar who suddenly appeared in front of the shop.
With a wave of his hand Elder Sam placed a sound barrier around them, cutting off the noise from the surrounding crowd and insuring that no one could hear their words, “You know I would never let my Dela hang out with people I’ve never met before. She’s young after all and could easily be tricked… I didn’t follow your orders to allow them to experience The Pit because you're his daughter, Marley. It’s just that my little sweetheart is smitten with that kid Sol, that’s all!”

The beggar smiled faintly and placed a few silvers on the counter, “Some bread for this old woman? I’ll take the one filled with red jam, after all Elder Sam makes the finest bread in the area.”
Elder Sam snorted, “Enough with the praise; if you’re old then I’m ancient. Here.” Giving her loaf of bread filled with jam he continued, “Go on your way troublemaker. Tell that father of yours to stop by here and bring those old farts for a visit. It’s almost time for the Ruined Lands to open again.”
The old beggar shook from excitement as she munched on her bread, “Many thanks for the information, Elder Sam. I shall pass it on. As always, Elder Sam makes the best bread. My thanks.”
Elder Sam nodded and watched the beggar hurry after the group of four children the four who left.
As he watched the beggar leave, Elder Sam’s solemn look quickly reverted back to his salesman’s smile, “Come one, come all! I sell the finest bread in all the land!”

The Event Master
It is a reincarnation/transmigration story where the MC can only do magic that is socially condemned, but is protected somewhat by his powerful political station. For as long as he can keep it, anyway. With a little luck and some modern world thinking, perhaps he'll come up with something to change people's minds. Not forcefully though, that would be unethical. ** The MC is not a fighter. He's a gamer. He loves rpgs, movies, modern music, and telling stories. I intend to post at least once a week in the range of 2k words. If work eases up I'll increase the amount again. ((Work has instead intensified to the point where I'm struggling to get a chapter every two weeks. I'll pick it back up properly when I can, but for now it is on temporary hiatus while I still might post every once and awhile. This winter, I plan to go back to regular posts until the story finishes.))
