Scene 2 - Running Out
Days flow into the next like water down the side of a mountain, with each passing hour the Labyrinth that was full of the sounds of battle had grown quiet. There weren’t any more battle cries as the remaining contestants stayed in the shadows.
At this time the two sisters moved through the quiet hallways in search for any monsters or contestants to steal from. Alas no matter how hard they tried these days the couldn’t seem to find many monsters gaining a few points and all contestants had seemed to up and vanished leaving not a trace in site.
They knew that today the couldn’t run away and had to gain some points to pay off another boss. Rune and Xue walked side by side, with Rune playing with a ball of poison under the faint light of moss surrounding them.
Xue felt irritated that they ran into Virgo once more and another Dao heart challenge boss called Libra. She felt like they’ve been having rotten luck running into the two with her hatred growing deeper for Virgo since they last met.
With the time growing ever closer to the eleven day’s hunt starting she grew more restless as time passed. She knew that they didn’t have enough points to skip and if a boss found them they couldn’t outrun their speed or stop them in the slightest.
Giving a glance at her nonchalant elder sister playing with her poison making different shapes and forms in her hands was maddening to her.
“How can you be so calm Big Sis?! If they find us it’s game over for us!”
Rune turned to her worried sister and smiled, making the ball of poison float over her shoulder she patted her sisters head, “Don’t worry Little Sis. I have a plan don’t you worry.”

“And that plan is?!”
Rune bitterly smiled and stopped in her tracks making Xue bewildered,“I wish we had time so I could tell you the plan ahead of time, but unfortunately it seems our luck is bad.”
“What do you mea--”
“Hello, ladies!”
As Xue asked Rune what she meant by that a manly voice from the shadows appeared, he wore orange robes detailed with scorpions. His violet red hair was long, neat, and orderly hanging over his shoulder in a braid.
His eyes the color of a deep brown was deep and profound to look at matching his better than average looks. On closer inspection, Xue could see his weapon of choice was the claws hanging on his waist hooked together by chains.
A smile full of venom-filled honey made Xue shiver as his aura excluded the power of a peak 11th HBR Expert. They had no chance to escape with their battle prowess, at most the sisters could exert the power of an 8th HBR Expert.
The somewhat handsome man walked slowly towards the sisters making Xue sweat her hands trembling under the pressure while Rune was unfazed. Both knew it was useless to run knowing it wouldn't be long before they were taken into a card once again. With this information at hand, Rune made her choice and put her plan into action.
Turning to Xue and grabbed her hand and stared her in the eye, “Take my odd points sister they will put you over 200 points allowing you another day.”
Stunned Xue stood their motionlessly, “Wha-- what are you saying, Big Sis?! Let’s face the challenge together!”
Shaking her head slightly with a sad smile Rune explained, “This challenge isn't suitable for you to take, Little Sis it isn’t a Dao Heart challenge or battle or strength it deals with poison! Isn’t that right Boss of the poisoned world Scorpio!”

Wide-eyed the man now pronounced Scorpio stopped and gave Rune a deep look before chuckling, “Haha… That’s right newbie I use and play the role of Scorpio! And you are also correct I do lord over the world of poison in this little card!”
“You heard him Little Sis now I want you to promise me not to stay in that world and directly pay the points to leave.”
Tears started filling Xue’s eyes flowing out of her masks eyes, “But why Big Sis? Why won’t you let me stay! I can fight!”
“Your path lies elsewhere I want you to leave once you enter promise me this or we won’t be sisters anymore,” Rune expression was resolute and unchanging filling Xue with the heartache that her sister would say such words.
As if she lost her soul Xue desperately pleaded, “But Big Si--”
Her eyes shining a frosty evil green Rune glared at her little sister, “Xue! As the second oldest my words are final now do as I say!”
Feeling bitter Xue bit her lip drawing blood as she held back her sobs, “I understand Big Sister I Promise to leave…”
Seeing the hurt expression of her sister Rune felt her heart was bleeding full of remorse, but she had to be strong and not relent her position. As her elder, she would be her shield and protect her no matter the cost!
Scorpio stood waiting by patiently waiting for the two to finish their moment before throwing them in the card before shortly releasing the pained Xue back into the Labyrinth.
Before she was kicked back out Rune left her some words with a slight smile, “Don’t worry Little Sis I’ll do be fine, you just focus on tomorrow and prepare! I’ll see you after the exams promise!”
“You better or this little sister will give you a beating!”
“Haha… Ok, see you then Little Sis take care.”
With Xue gone now, Rune and Scorpio stood face to face with a few meters in between each other, unlike the other Bosses of the Labyrinth he seemed very mellow despite his flamboyant style.
He just stared at Rune which weirded her out somewhat, “Wanna be my girlfriend? I like your attitude.”
“I refuse,” mercilessly Rune rejected the offer.

Just a Rock
There was once a writer that felt like creating a story about a rock. A rock so amazing that its story just needed to be told. How amazing? Not amazing at all, on the contrary, quite ordinary. Don't believe me? Then read on. Edit: Resumed the story. Can’t do any more audio versions for now. I plan on editing some of the now non-applicable author notes and maybe rearranging the two side stories or combining them with the deleted chapters.
