《The Mars Bug WARS written by Travis Willier》Chapter 006

Sitting in the command center of the pyramid
I felt it was time for more fire power our conventional weapons were good,
But we needed some hard hitting machine guns that would have been nice to use against them from up on the towers and some blast shotguns. I can't forget them now. I hit the
Order button on the terminal. The Screen Prompted.
Order pending, Received, processing order.
“Great!”
I also checked my mail seeing the Message of appreciation From Chief medical staff harper.
Thanking me for the medical staff support and refill of supplies.
A loud horn went off, the Automated Intelligence relayed the message to me playing it over the hologram communication terminal.
“Admiral Catie will be arriving at the CP COB (Chryse Planitia, Central Operating Base ) drop ship landing ETA in 5 minutes.
.
I stopped what I was doing, Readied my War LOG and walked over to the counter where my helmet was. I attached the helmet to my suit, turned to the automated doorway and walked out the pyramid, as I entered the dark halls I noticed that feeling inside again, It was Emptiness.
I crossed through the lobby and the doors to the entrance of the pyramid opened and I noticed the Death Marines pulling out the new hardwear, from one of the drop pods.
One marine pulled out and held into the air a bayoneted Blast shotgun and another holding out one of the many new heavy machine guns.
Cartridge gun powder rounds, Expensive but very effective.
And won't crap out in the darkness.
I stared into the clear Martian Sky.
I felt Anger and Pain at the thought.
“These Bugs Will be Stomped out.”
The Large Black Drop Ship entered the atmosphere. We watched it plummet down to the ground. The Ship Engaged its Reverse Thrusters and Slowed its descent and extended its Landing gear.
The Base Was Massive so the Large Command Ship Was able to fit right in. Landing in the Center right in front of the Center Command Pyramid.
The Death Marines, Stood in Attention, As Black Heel boots Walked down the Ramp Catie was dressed in her shiny Black Latex Suit with the command pins c-across her chest with a Black Glass Helmet, on her wrist she kept a combat force field device which not only protected a individual but if one perfected could use it in combat. On Catie's Black utility belt was a Large Blaster Pistol.
She walked past me and Said out loud “AT EASE, Then continued to walk into the Command Pyramid. I turned around and watched her walking through the lobby to the command center.
Confused, I followed her inside. Crossing back through the lobby and walking through the halls.

The Doors to the command center room opened and she was looking through my war log.
“ What's our next Plan Mother?” I questioned My Mother.
“We Shall investigate a distress signal from a nearby base.” Catie mentioned..
“How, I was just in here?” I added.
“This was a Secret Facility, only Known to the Dark Fleet Higher Command. We must investigate and Eliminate any bugs in the base and save our scientist’s.” Catie Continued to Order Weapons and vehicles.”
“ I will have Dark Squad Ready to Fly out.” I Concluded then walked out.
When I Got outside, there was an incoming Dropship. I Walked up to the Drop Ship with the Dark Squad looking through the new Equipment.
Jet Packs, Upgraded titanium power Armour, Boots with Jump Launcher upgrade.
The Vehicles were Large Reverse Pulse Engine Land hovering vehicles called Flight decks.
We Upgraded our armours and Weapon Systems These Vehicles will travel us but we remain the fire power aboard, Dark squad climbed aboard these flight decks. 10 flight decks and 20 Tesla Tanks and 5 Mech Units. Each Flight Deck Carried 50 Death Marines.
Dark Squad moved out, The Flight Decks Convoyed together but were able to fly freely if needed. The Flight Decks Hovered six feet Above the Ground and travelled Seventy kilometers per hour, no sand will hinder or slow down our travel now as we Traversed the Martian Desert Plains To our Secret Base Position. The Bright Red Sands Got even Darker as we Crossed the LandScape Turning from a Bright red Sands to hard dark Red Rock in other parts. But one thing remained: it was all Red.
The Hilly terrain spanned outward till we saw it, at first it looked like an oddly shaped hill but as we got closer, it was apparent that the mound was clearly a Large Face.
Our base and equipment were set up around it, the bad thing was our base and equipment around it were smoking and looking ravaged.
“Alright Dark Squad Fly Out and Surround the Area!”
The Boots Jump Launcher upgrade Threw us all into the air off the open top Flight Decks,
Jet packs Kicked on flying us around the area at an altitude of eighty feet above the Walking Mechs and tanks, the Flight Decks continued on forward with the Tanks and Mech units towards the Mound.
Bugs Crawled out the eyes and mouth of the Large face Mound.
The massive amount kept pouring out. They herded towards our direction. The mech units jumped on the flight decks and rode towards them with the arm guns shooting and the sword and chainsaw attachments extending out.
The Mech units Blasts ripped apart the small and large pinchers but one thing the bugs had going for them was numbers and they used them, the Mech units with no fear flew in with swords and Chainsaws, Chopping and cutting into the Bugs. Our Dark Marines Fired from the Jet packs sending bugs to their demise, it wasn't long before they sent in the Flying Bugs to attack our jet Death Marines.

It Was A battle in the Sky and ground, I was firing into the nearest bugs that I could hit, The Armour's new upgraded targeting systems made it super easy to fire and not miss, dropping bugs from the sky into the fighting horde below. Our tanks Blasted and used flames to keep the Pinchers at bay.
The only trouble I had was the Reload, Leaving me to fight with chainsaw in the sky in between loads. Going to Reload a flying bug grabbed me from behind. I dropped my rifle to the ground from the sky. I punched it in the side of the nerve end, the Bug twitched its Wings, my Jetpack kicked into extra gear Trying to keep us afloat, its jaws opened and a million teeth were snapping at my helmet the armour was taking the chomps. I could see the visible teeth breaking in the bug's mouth.
I Reached for my side arm, stabbing into the bugs Center with the Bayonet on the tip of the Blast shotgun.
“Back the Fuck Up!”
The Blast shotgun tore the bug to flying pieces.
The soldiers all switched to shotgun sidearms. The Flying bugs stood no chance to the Blast shots and the Titanium armour was incredible.
The Mech units Swirled around and flew Circles around the Bugs with the Flight Decks Chopping, shooting. The Tesla Tanks burned the circled bugs and soon enough they were defeated.
Cheers! Roared over the Communications.
Our Jetpacks shut off and we fell to the Ground, The boot Launchers absorbed the Drop impact.
We all Landed. I picked up my dropped rifle, I threw the new Magazine in and We all continued to walk with our guns drawn, the mound was bigger from the Ground. But the entrance was a Visible doorway square.
We All Stopped and I pointed at one of the Death marines then to the Doorway ordering One of the Marines to go in first, The New Recruit walked into the Mound shotgun pointed.
The Marine entered the Hallway and walked through the door then a few others followed him in.
There Was silence that could stop time itself, we Waited, Then over the communications.
“All Clear!”
We entered the Face Mound and the Red inner walls opened out into what would be our scientist secret facility, just what they were doing I don't know.
“ Alright Team Spread out find any survivors.”
The Dark Squad spanned out and Scanned the area.
“ I found one over here sir, you're gonna want to see this.”
The man was Plastered to the wall in some sort of Bug Goo. Green And Black and was very sticky in textured. Crying hysterically.
“What is wrong with him?” one of the Death Marines asked.
“Private hold on we're gonna get you out.” I started to pull some of the goo off.
“NOOOOOO! Your monsters of the Universe! Please don't take me back, just kill me!”
“ He's gone mad, they did something to him.” the Marine said, trying to understand the situation.
“Command, are you seeing this?” I reached out back to Central base command.
“Yes,leave him, Before you leave you must download the Research.” Catie Ordered over the communications.
I walked up to the Data File and copied all the Research in the Data Files.
“He showed me….” the Marine in the goo cried.
I Lifted my head from the quantum computer to look at the Marine trapped in the green and Black mush..
“Showed you what?” I questioned.
“The Truth!” he Cried.
“What do you mean, what did they even do to you?” I questioned the Frantic
Marine.
He was laughing Crying. “They, They, They Saved me, They gave me back my Freedom, they will show you all too!.”
“Shoot him, He was Brainwashed by the Insectoids, don't let him Brainwash you too.” Catie Commanded.
A Round from a pistol Blaster opened his head up, sending a spray of blood on the wall behind him. The marine next to me in the room Shot him without hesitation.
“Sir this isn't good!” A Marine Behind us showed me a large hole where the bugs escaped.
I looked back at the terminal download and it was one hundred percent complete.
“Alright leave the explosives in the hole, let's get back to base command, Dark Fleet move out!”
We exited the mound and left the explosives in the mound. We jet packed back on to the flight decks and started our travel back to Chryse Planitia Central operating base, Far behind us now the mound went up in A huge Explosion, A red and black mushroom cloud filled the sky. The Mechs jogged at our sides and the Few tanks that survived the fight Traversed alongside us down the Martian plains back to base.
