《The Seven Demon Gods' Successor》Chapter 20- The Book Of Record

“If I remember correctly, this is your fourth time visiting the Imperial Library your highness the 13th prince.” The old librarian suddenly said as he was looking at the seemingly dumbfounded Mikhail with a respectful look on his face.
“Indeed, this is my fourth time.” Mikhail coldly answered.
“I guess I don't have to explain anything to you again. I’ll leave you alone then.”Said the old librarian before he left and closed the giant door behind him, leaving Mikhail in this giant library by himself.
Though being a librarian in a world such as Antheia wasn't a glamorous job, it wasn't the same for the librarian of the Imperial Library of the Helios Empire, the place that held the original copies of some of the powerful spellbooks in humanity’s existence as well as secret information not known to the public.
One had to be extremely influential and knowledgeable to become the librarian of the Imperial Library of the Helios Empire, not to mention powerful.
Furthermore, just like its name implied, the Imperial Library could only be accessed by the members of the Imperial family. As such, this old librarian had rubbed shoulders with some of the most powerful people throughout the whole Helios Empire.
Soon after the old librarian left, Mikhail went up to the third floor where there was a small gallery or an open floor that projected over the main floor of the entire library.
Within the open floor, there was a giant opened book floating in the air as if strung by an invisible string. The giant book wasn't like any normal book as it was 90 inches tall and 70 inches wide.
The two opened pages of the giant book were completely blank with no writings whatsoever. Standing in front of the two giant opened pages, Mikhail gently placed his right hand on them poured out his mana.

Buzz!
In the next second, the giant book shone brightly as Mikhail's personal information suddenly appeared on one of the empty pages.
Whether it was his name, age, his mother’s name, and his father’s name, everything was written clearly on the giant page in gold.
This giant magical book was known as the Book Of Record. Not only it recorded everything about the visitors of the Imperial Library, but it was also used as a search engine as every single book within the Imperial Library was recorded within it.
“I am looking for 4th Circle magic spellbooks?” Mikhail coldly asked as he was still pouring his mana within the Book of Record.
As there wasn't anyone in the Imperial Library, Mikhail seemed to be talking to the Book Of Record which looked kinda crazy.
However, as soon as his voice faded away, something magical suddenly happened. On the other giant blank page of the Book Of Record, numerous golden words suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
*There are approximately 1947 4th Circle magic spellbooks within the Imperial Library. Would you like to read them all?*
‘That's too much.’ Mikhail thought to himself after seeing the number of 4th Circles Spellbooks.
“Narrow it down to the most powerful and destructive 4th circle magic spells.” He said after pondering for a while.
*Now there are 243 4th Circle Spellbooks left.*
‘This is still too much. I only have today to learn the 4th Circle Magic Spells as the old man’s birthday is tomorrow.’
“Limit them to Fire and Ice magic spells and some defensive spells.” He asked again.
*Now there are 23 magic spellbooks left.*
“Good, that will do for now. You can bring them to me.” Said Mikhail with a slight smile on his face.
He didn't plan on learning all of them. Even with the aid of the system, it would still take him some time to learn 23 4th circle magic spells. He only planned on choosing the most powerful and efficient ones out of the 23.

Furthermore, even with his status as the 13th Imperial prince of the Helios Empire, he was still forbidden to take the magic spellbooks out of the Imperial Library. However, it was possible to make a copy with the permission of the Emperor.
The only books that could be taken out of the library were the ones about history, geography, and politics, etc.
Nonetheless, it was still a great deal. If Mikhail was a regular person, he would have never been able to acquire those magic spell books that easily.
He would have needed to join and sign a contract with a noble family if he wanted to get them. Even then, he would still need to accomplish some great merits and proved his loyalty to get some decent ones.
That was how the noble families and the other influences controlled the mages and the Aura Knights in the Antheia world. They have the monopoly of all the powerful magic spell books and Aura Knight Skill books.
Buzz!
In the next second, the Book Of Record burst into a brilliant light as numerous thin strings of mana flew out of it and enshrouded the entire bookshelves of the library like a spiderweb.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
At the same time, numerous spellbooks could be seen being taken out of the bookshelves by the thin strings of mana and flew towards Mikhail.
Soon, twenty-three magic spellbooks could be seen hovering in front of him.
“This is truly amazing. This Book Of Record it's like a freaking computer.”Said Mikhail in amazement after seeing just how efficient it was.
“Ohh yeah, before I forget. I also want a book about familiar magic. Give me the most powerful one.”Mikhail suddenly asked.
Familiar Magic and Summoning Magic were two kinds of Magic that caught Mikhail’s attention the most among others.
However, compared to Summoning Magic, Familiar Magic was easier to learn which was why he chose it instead of summoning Magic. Furthermore, it didn’t need any ritual.
Unlike summoning Magic, Familiar Magic was a kind of mind control Magic used by mages.
This kinda magic allowed the user to form a link with any living organism, mostly animals, in order to turn them into one’s familiar which could be used for spying and scouting.
Depending on one’s skills or level, one could even order them to do one’s bidding. There’s also a limitation on the distance between the familiar and the user depending on the user’s mental power.
For a normal 4th Circle Mage, the maximum input of control was around fifty meters or so. Another thing to keep in mind, once the familiar died while still linked to the user, there will be a forced disconnection which would cause the user to suffer some damage and backlash.
Furthermore, due to the high level of mental power required and the mental burdens, there were only a handful of mages that specialized in this kind of mind control Magic.
However, this wasn’t a problem for Mikhail. After taking over the body of Vandal, he realized that his soul power or mental power had tripled. It was unknown if it was because his soul had combined with that of Vandal or it was the work of the unknown system within his mind.
Swoosh!
After the Book Of Record has brought the magic book about the Familiar Magic, Mikhail didn't waste any time as he took all of them and went to one of the magic training rooms which was also located in the Imperial Library.

Sweet Minds
"No one can see it, some can feel it, and only the few can use it. We belong to the few." Marith Merryfield felt anything but merry that morning. She found herself waiting for a delayed train on a deserted platform, in the freezing cold of the Dutch autumn. Just when the strangeness is making her consider turning around and going back home an empty train rolls into the station. For reasons unclear to this day she decides to get onboard. An unlikely, and quite impossible, train accident is about to hurtle her into a world she had always suspected existed. It was a dark and absurd place she had rejected and suppressed when she was young. Now she would need that dormant part of herself to survive. After a brief hospitalization she must choose between two continents and finds herself reluctantly boarding a plane to Oregon to be reunited with her shadows. She returns to the town she grew up in, which is where her father still lives and her childhood memories linger. By the end of the week the mysterious train accident turns out to be the least of her problems. Her life was never supposed to become this serious this fast. Through an improbable and unfortunate series of events she is soon introduced to a motley crew of characters that appear to be carrying the same struggles through life. They possess a familiar sense of inadequacy and insecurity. Marith realizes that for the first time in her life she has found herself a tribe, or, as they prefer to call it, a Chain. She is introduced to a world of Prophets, Runners and Mages led by an Oracle and a Watchmaker. Over the course of several weeks Marith learns that, together with her Chain, she is expected to save this fabric of reality, by fighting a mysterious and immortal creature and his aggressive pet. In order to have a chance at overcoming this force of nature she has to revisit the darkest and most desolate corners of her mind. ***** The total word count of the first 12 chapters amounts to about 85.000 words. The total word count of the first 30 chapters will amount to about 225.000 words. My chapters range, roughly, from 5.000 to 10.000 words. I post with irregular intervals, on random days and at different times. I hope you will enjoy the story! English is not my first language and I am very much open to constructive criticism. Disclaimer: I regularly use impressionistic or abstract language on purpuse, when I think it might benefit the story.

Gamer
This story is abandoned and has not been authorized for distribution on any sites but RoyalRoad. Given the Gamer ability after shattering a crystal inside a game, Jon's world is upturned as he is thrown into a life he considered fantasy. Making new enemies and encountering a god, he cannot escape the quest which is forced on him. Different worlds and different situations, can he come out on top? He's neither perfect nor a saint, he is Jon. Welcome to Gamer. This has been dropped, I didn't like the way I forced a few plotpoints and I lost my notes on the story itself. Read below if you want to be spoilered. As far as I recall, he would change race into a higher human after using a spell to overload his mana repeatably until his body forcibly adapts, he would train up his rift usage spell with some better targets than God's Realm because he keeps hitting his stats limit until the cost lowers enough that he can actually grind it. His world is being invaded by multiple worlds, so the god had many backup plans where a lot of people went into their own fantasy settings and came back to defend Earth. Jon never is the strongest one out there, he has to keep grinding and grinding before he gets stronger than the other heroes, and at that point the invasion is nearing the final stretch. Jon's two biggest advantages is that he can keep grinding without hitting a cap he can't evolve, and that even when he is eventually killed. He would have respawned in the nearest 'Safe Zone' after dropping a level and everything he did to gain that level. I also had a bunch of ideas for mini-arcs where he would play in multiple worlds in multiple situations, not that great of an idea in retrospect.
