《The Seven Demon Gods' Successor》Chapter 21-Mikhail’s first 4th Circle Magic Spell

The magic training room of the Imperial Library was located underground. It wasn't excessively big and was around four hundred square feet of space.
It was a room specially designed to train and practice magic spells from top to bottom. The walls, floor, and ceiling had been built into three layers.
Starting from the inside, there was a layer of concrete approximately ten centimeters thick. Then, a thirty centimeters thick layer of lead and finally another sixty centimeters of some sort of neutron-insulating concrete.
Aside from that, the walls were also imbued and reinforced with numerous powerful defensive magic spells and even sound-canceling magic spells.
It was like a small nuclear shelter and said to have the strength and the durability to withstand even the destructive power of a 10th Circle magic spell.
“Truly impressive,” Mikhail murmured to himself before sitting cross-legged and placing the two dozens of spellbooks in front of him.
“Alright, let's get started,” He added as he started looking at the titles of the spellbooks.
He didn't plan on learning all the twenty-three magic spells in just one go nor was he able to. He planned on choosing six or seven of them to learn today along with the Familiar Magic.
After spending only ten minutes or so going through all the twenty-three spell books, Mikhail chose six of them.
They were Lava Blast, Frozen Domain, Ice Coffin, Fire Storm, Ice Spears, and Frost Breath.
According to Mikhail, these were the most powerful 4th Circle magic spells out of the twenty-three.
There were also many magic spells that were equally powerful as the ones he had chosen, but these six magic spells were the ones that caught his attention the most.
Once he had chosen these six spellbooks, Mikhail started to read them. Each one of them explained in great detail the structure of each magic spells.
The method of learning and casting magic spells was different from that on Earth where people needed to chant.
In Antheia's world, spellcasting could be seen as both easy or difficult depending on the person. First, there was the theoretical part where the mage would thoroughly study the structure of the spells, the second part was to build and recreate the model or the prototype of the spell without any mistake.

This process would let the mage understand the structure of the magic spells as well as their profundity. Some genius mage could even modify the structure of the spell to make it even stronger.
It's a well-known fact that most of the existing spells had been further improved by numerous genius mages from each successive generation in the past.
After that, there was the practical part where the mage would use his mental strength to build or construct the magic spell model inside the Ring of mana around one’s heart.
If it was a 4th Circle magic spell, then the mage would construct it in the 4th ring of mana around his heart and so on.
However, the number of magic spells that could be inscribed inside one’s ring of mana was limited depending on the amount of mana of the mage.
Once the mage had built or constructed the magic spell model within the mana ring around his heart, then the mage could freely use it by imbuing the magic circle with the amount of mana required to activate the magic spell.
If the magic spell was like an engine then the mage’s mana was like the fuel to power it up.
However, not all mages were able to use magic spells like that. This method was only applicable for elemental mages and Familiar mages. There was a different method for those summoning mages, necromancer and Spirit Mages, etc.
“I’ll start with you,” Mikhail said as he picked Lava Blast spellbook as his first target. Putting his nose in the book, he began to read diligently. He was very focused.
"Hmm?"
Amazingly, Mikhail found that he could not only recognize what was written but easily understand it too! He even found some errors in the magical spell structure.
His brain had become exceptionally good.
‘What the hell!’ He inwardly thought. Studying and stuff like research was never his strong suit, so how come he suddenly became this smart.
One had to understand, all the tiny symbols within the magic circle were written in Dragon’s language, yet he was able to understand them all.

Vandal had learned some of those symbols before, but he wasn't that good and needed help from the mages in the Mage Tower to decipher some of them. But now, he was going through them as though it was his native language.
‘Is it because of the system?’ He inwardly thought.
After spending an hour reading through the whole spellbook and studying the structure of the magic spell, Mikhail took out a white paper and a quill and began to copy and construct the model or the prototype of the Lava Blast spell.
[Lava Blast magic spell’s model construction is a failure]
As soon as Mikhail finished drawing the model of the Lava Blast on the paper, the cold and mechanical voice of the system suddenly rang out his mind.
However, instead of being sad and even disappointed that his first attempt was a failure, he was happy. Not because he had failed but because the system had told him that.
When a mage drew the model of a magic spell, he usually didn't know whether or not it was a success or failure until they've tried it. As such, they tried to cast the spell based on their model without constructing it in their ring of mana.
These trials usually took days and even months. However, with the help of the system, he didn't need to go through all of these troubles and hardships.
“Hahaha! This system keeps on surprising me every time. Anyway, I don't care if you're a Devil or a God, I'll play along with you and fully use you.” Mikhail added while laughing like a maniac as he continued to draw the Lava Blast magic spell model again.
[You have successfully created the prototype of the 4th Circle magic spell Lava Blast]
“Good,” Mikhail said with slight on his face after hearing the notification of the system. This was already his 12th attempt at trying to reconstruct the prototype of the Lava Blast. Now, he has finally succeeded.
The sensation of having succeeded in constructing the prototype of the magic spell gave Mikhail a sense of comfort and accomplishment.
[The Prototype of the 4th Circle magic spell Lava Blast has been created and added in your 4th Ring of Mana]
[Congratulations! You have fully become a 4th Circle Mage]
Instantly, Mikhail felt his consciousness blur for a split second, then recovered.
He also found that the prototype of the 4th Circle magic spell was now inside his 4th Ring of Mana. At the same time, the amount of mana within it had decreased by twenty percent which was the amount needed to create it.
He also felt that he was very familiar with the Lava Blast magic spell. If he wanted to, he could cast it in an instant.
Without any hesitation, Mikhail raised his right towards the wall and coldly said.” Lava Blast.”
In the next second, Mikhail suddenly felt the prototype of the 4th Circle magic spell Lava Blast within his 4th Ring of Mana shone brightly as it absorbed a great portion of his mana.
At the same time, the same prototype of the 4th Circle magic spell Lava Blast appeared in front of him. It was blood red and looked as though it was on fire. The moment it appeared, the temperature of the room increased exponentially.
Swoosh!
Suddenly, a giant ball of molten lava flew out of it and shot toward the wall at incredible speed.
Boom!
A deafening blast could be heard as the ball of molten lava hit the wall and splashed all over it like water. It didn't leave any damage on the wall, but Mikhail knew that if it were to hit a person, it would have melted their entire body down to the bone.
“Not bad.” He said with an insidious smile on his face. At the same time, he took another spellbook and began to read it.

How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.
