《Rebirth: Monarchs》Chapter 48: Maneuverability Training Starts

The hour quickly passed and Kai had only partly recovered, he is lacking sleep and food. He took care of the second problem by simply drinking the potions and herbs but he can't make up for his lack of sleep with medicine and so took a ten minute nap. Of course, he had almost overslept but the old man kicked him in the gut to wake him up much to Kai's displeasure.
"I told you, we'll begin immediately."
Kai groaned and wiped his eyes.
"Haaaa..."
The old man sighed and punched out with his right fist, Kai was flung backwards and flipped multiple times as he was scraped on the floor and through threes. His body only stopped after he crashed into and broke five trees with his body.
Kai was lying down on the floor and was bleeding from his mouth and several parts of his body.
"Eh...?"
Kai sat up just fine but looked at the state of his body.
"I'm not too hurt?"
The old man appeared next to Kai.
"Your body is already abnormally strong, I held back to just to make you bleed but those trees did nearly no damage to you."
"I see."
The old man knocked on Kai's head.
"Now, that's for not following my instructions. Go heal yourself, you're going to need it."
The old man released the seal on Kai's body and he could feel the constriction in his body disappear.
"I'm going to need it...?"
Kai tilted his head but began to heal himself. All of his superficial wounds were instantly closed and healed in front of his eyes, he then spat out the rest of the blood and wiped his mouth.
"I'm done."
Not too shabby.
The old man silently praised Kai.
"Alright, let's begin."
The old man placed his hand on Kai's shoulder.
Both of their figures vanished and what's left was the wind that scattered from their position.
==========
Kai looked around him and saw that he was in the plains, he had not seen this area before.
"Where...how?"
All I saw was my scenery rapidly changing at least ten times but it all happened so fast that I couldn't react.

Kai changed his question, he wanted to know how the old man did it rather than where he was.
"Well, it's an instantaneous movement technique. You don't need to know this yet, your body would break the moment you use it. I mastered it to the point that I can travel a hundred meters in a blink of an eye. But I also have a better version of this instantaneous movement technique, I can teleport to a place or object that I had set the spell on. This spell works over such a huge distance that I could travel from the end of this forest to the other in the blink of an eye. I had set up multiple spells on different places and objects in the forest and the plains are only one area. It takes me a few minutes to chant and I had set it up ahead of time."
The old man walked around the plains until he was a few tens of meters away.
"Now, we'll immediately begin."
Kai felt the pressure on his elements come back but he could freely use the other magics. He affirmed this guess by channeling mana.
The old man had his hands on his back and stomped on the floor with his right foot.
Several pebbles floated up and the old man made them rotate around him.
The old man pointed at Kai and a pebble shot towards Kai.
"You're not allowed to use spells, dodging and physical attacks only."
Kai's eyes contracted, the speed of the pebble was too fast. It was so fast that Kai didn't have enough time to react, he dodged it by a hair's breadth.
"So fast!"
Kai yelled out.
"You don't have time to think."
The old man raised his hand and pointed at Kai again.
Three pebbles shot out, Kai dodged to the right; a pebble missed. Kai ducked and another missed, but before he could move; the third pebble arrived and hit him directly on his forehead.
Kai flew backwards and scraped through the floor.
His forehead had a very visible red mark where the pebble had landed.
"Ouch, how could that hurt more than crashing into a tree at high speed?!"

Kai instantly stood up as five pebbles arrived.
"Fuck!"
Kai cursed out loud and tried to dodge the pebbles.
Of course, he failed and was hit with each pebble in different parts of his body.
These would definitely bruise.
Kai's thoughts at that moment were unsuitable and quickly shook his head to focus.
This time, ten pebbles arrived. Kai managed to dodge the first three but quickly got hit in succession with the rest.
Kai was knocked back and crashed into a nearby tree. He was then pulled back by some magic force to his previous position.
"I'll keep dragging you back here until you at least avoid a eighty pebbles in quick succession."
This time, only one pebble shot out.
"That's it!"
Kai roared and punched out with his fist, he focused his body enhancement to the edge of his fist.
Kai's fist met the pebble and it broke apart. But before Kai could show any joy into his face, three pebbles arrived and hit him in multiple places.
"Aghhh!"
Kai took on the barrage of pebbles until he was flung back to the tree once more.
This continued for hours until Kai was able to dodge until the third wave with five pebbles.
"Ha! Old man, I can finally dodge three of your waves!"
"I see."
The old man lowered his head and pointed his finger at Kai.
But Kai didn't see any pebbles flying towards him.
"Eh?"
Crack
A pebble landed on Kai's back.
"Gah!"
He spat out some saliva in surprise and looked back. The pebbles that he had dodged before were all floating.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"
Kai was about to complain to the old man but the pebbles began flying towards him. Three pebbles from each side.
"FINE! IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IT THAT WAY, I'LL DO IT!"
Kai crushed one side and kicked the other side. When the next wave arrived, Kai destroyed one side and dodged most of the other but was hit anyway.
Now, ten pebbles. Kai had no capability to destroy them all at once without magic and so was forced to dodge by jumping.
"Too slow!"
The old man yelled and sent a pebble flying towards the ascending Kai.
"Damn!"
Kai cursed once he realized he can't defend or dodge.
The pebble landed on his forehead and sent him spinning multiple times.
Kai descended and crashed into the floor.
Of course, he didn't take much damage and immediately stood up.
"Stop hitting my forehead!"
Kai rubbed his forehead as the old man snorted and began to roll around in laughter.
"Your forehead is as red as a tomato!"
Kai was gnashing his teeth at the old man's antics.
"Stop laughing already! It's not even that funny!"
Kai roared at the old man.
"Not for you, sure. But it's sure as hell funny for me!"
The old man laughed and pointed at Kai whilst laughing. Unconsciously, when Kai saw that finger pointing at him; he felt chills all over his body and ducked.
A pebble came flying from behind him, it was several times faster than the other pebbles. Kai followed the flying pebble with his eyes and saw the impact, it pierced through a tree without any trouble.
Kai's back began to drip in cold sweat.
"Oi, even if my body is harder than trees and stone, something with that much power would scrape my skin at the very least."
The old man nodded.
"Yes, it would. You better put that healing to good use."
As the old man said that, another pebble began flying towards Kai.
Now, all options of destroying the rock were gone. If Kai did somehow manage to destroy it using his fist, if even a tiny bit of it was left; they would scrape Kai's skin. His only option is to dodge all of them. The tiniest debris going at this speed would give Kai's fist a good wound.
Unless Kai could somehow completely destroy the motion behind the rock using an equal force, he'd have to dodge.
Kai dodged to the left and the pebble barely passed by him.
Next thing Kai knew, three pebbles arrived.
"This is going to hurt."
