Not forgetting his objective, Kai made sure to give himself away when he stares at Anne. His classmates looked down on him at first and even pitied him trying to get with Anne but because of his friendly attitude, they had all become his friends after a single day.

During every period, Kai made sure to stare at Anne several times before looking away to make her aware that he's interested. Not just that, he also stuck with her during break times and even gave her free food. Seeing as they had only met each other yesterday, Anne quickly tried to brush him off but as if he couldn't read the atmosphere and hints in her words, he kept on pursuing her.

Of course, he had already consulted with Erina and Amelia beforehand. After all, he wouldn't want to be impaled by a knife once he got home. If it was just a knife, then he'd be fine but his wives had ways to prevent himself from healing. Especially now that he had become a vampire, Green Ki is far more effective than before.

Anne was walking through the hallway and feeling a presence following her, she quickened her steps but the presence matched her pace. Going even faster, Anne sped through the hundred meter hallway in less than five seconds. She turned around to see that Kai hadn't caught up and breathed a sigh of relief.

But just as she turned to face to the front, Kai's smiling face covered her field of vision which made her jump.

"Hi, Anne."

"...Have I given you permission to call me so familiarly?"

"Oh, what's the harm?"

Saying so, Kai nonchalantly slid towards her and placed his arm over her shoulders which caused Anne to flinch and try to push him away with all her might.

Before she could try to push him, Kai's other hand pushed something in her hands and with slick movements, he unwrapped his arm around her shoulders and moved away.

"See you tomorrow, Anne."

Kai waved Anne goodbye and left without looking back. Only after his figure disappeared did Anne finally snap out of her daze and look at the object he pushed into her hands.

"A red rose?"

She stared at it dumbfoundedly for a second but after remembering the continent's meaning for the red rose, her face began to heat up.

He wants to date me with marriage in mind?! Isn't it too soon?!

Although she was flustered, she was far from being attracted. In the first place, he was annoying her nearly every moment of the day.

Coughing lightly, she pondered throwing the rose into the trash but hesitated. After a few seconds in front of the trash can, she decided to keep the rose with a sigh.

It's not nice to trample on someone else's feelings. Besides, my flowers should wilt soon.

Thinking along those lines, she walked back to her room, removed the flowers from the vase beside the table and replaced it with a rose. She smiled at the vase now with a rose and took out her notebook to write down the events of the day.

The third day, rather than pushing Kai away, Anne denied him with patience but...

"As long as you don't mind, I would still like to pursue you. I only have two weeks after all, I want to see you even after that. No, not just that, I want you to accompany me forever after all."

Hearing his straightforward confession in the middle of class, Anne became flustered and turned away from the conversation.

"D-do whatever you want."

The class was dumbfounded by then. The woman who never shows the emotions on her face was turning red and stuttering. Before this, they even believed that in the face of the apocalypse, Anne would just keep a straight face.

After hearing Anne, a bright smile appeared on Kai's face. If Arata and the others saw this, they would tremble in fear. Whenever a smile appears on Kai's face, it was because he was plotting something. His smile in the face of his lovers, his smile when actually showing joy, and smile when plotting were all different.

To others, they might look the same but to them who had been with Kai for awhile, they knew how to read the small amount of expressions he shows.

After getting the go ahead from Anne, Kai became even bolder and called out to her in public. Of course, Anne was annoyed but she didn't try to push away Kai, it was true that he only had two weeks after all, she just had to endure or so she convinced herself.

In truth, she could've just destroyed his romance and he would have nothing to say or do about it.

During the break, Kai stopped Anne from buying food and treated her. Although she hesitated, she still took his kindness in the end. When she sat down on a table, Kai sat down directly in front of her with only a sandwich.

"Are you not eating a meal?"

Anne couldn't bring herself to eat when the one who treated her wasn't even eating a proper meal.

"This is enough for me."

Like hell it is or so Arata and the others would say. Kai could empty out the food in this entire canteen and they'd find it no surprise.

"At least take a part of mine, you treated me after all."

Kai shook his head and vehemently refused.

"No, I bought that for you."

"Don't be stubborn, just eat some of it."

Anne furrowed her brows at Kai's attitude.

"Alright, I'll consider eating but only if you feed me."

Hearing Kai's suggestion, Anne twitched and spoke nothing. She then began to eat silently. Seeing her refusal, Kai sighed and ate his sandwich occasionally turning his head to look at her graceful way of eating.

That was the most tense meal of my life.

Anne silently complained inside while looking at the carefree figure of Kai walking next to her.

"What is it, my Anne?"

"Who the heck is 'your' Anne?"

Grumbling, Anne separated from Kai. They were about to go to class but going in together would just provide more rumors. After the two weeks passed, she decided to deny him so having any rumors circle around after that would be troublesome.

Suddenly remembering that today was practical in Arcane, Anne hesitated. Kai had only eaten a sandwich and now he had to expend his mana, he'd be distracted throughout.

"Hey, Satou Kenji. Can you go and eat at the cafeteria? I'll cover for you, we have a practical today after all."

Anne decided to be straightforward and quickly gave Kai the suggestion.

"I'm fine, thanks for worrying about me though."

Kai walked past Anne, ruffled her hair as he walked through and stepped through the doors.

"...Who's worrying about you? And who gave you permission to touch my hair?"

Although Anne felt wronged, she walked in a few seconds after Kai just in time for class to start.

After everyone had taken their positions in the gym-like room, the professor clapped his hands.

"Alright, today will be a graded practical on magic. Miss Anne as an S-class, already has the maximum amount of grades possible but today, we'll measure magic power."

The professor turned around and pointed his palm at the metal dummy.

"[Searing Flames]!"

After a short delay, a torrent of flames traveled from his palm towards the target. The hot air produced from the flames caused most of the students to cover themselves and some even used barriers.

There were only two who hadn't moved at all, Kai and Anne.

Due to the turmoil, only Anne noticed this fact.

"This isn't about how strong you are, we'll measure your control and estimation of your own magic power. I estimate mine to be around fifty to fifty five thousand."

Numbers showed in the air on top of the metal dummy that he had just hit, a red '54392'.

"As most of you know, this is a magic measuring device that the academy had invented a year ago but I'll explain it for the sake of our transfer student. We all know about the scroll that shows magic power, but it's only available for those at A-class. Using the paper from the scroll and countless years of research, the researchers managed to make this."

The professor glanced at Kai.

"This is a less compact version of the scroll and the range it can sense is even higher. Its durability is enough to withstand an attack from someone with powers twice that of a new S-class, meaning 200,000 points. Miss Anne, will you please?"

Anne nodded.

"I will but because of privacy matters, I will only show power above S-class but not my full power, is that fine?"

"By all means."

Stepping aside to make way for Anne, the instructor bowed his head.

Anne walked forward and pointed her finger at the dummy.

"I estimate it to be between a hundred twenty seven and a hundred twenty eight thousand. [Light Bullet]."

It was a simple technique but the speed and power was levels ahead of what it looked like. The dummy even swayed for a few seconds after it had been hit.

Soon the numbers popped above the dummy's head in white.

127,421.

"Amazing..."

"As expected of the president."

"She got even stronger."

Everyone lightly clapped.

"Amazing, Miss Anne. I estimate that in a few more years, this device won't be enough for you."

Nodding towards the praise of the professor, Anne stepped back.

What do you mean in a few more years? She can destroy that in a few more months. Kai inwardly scowled.

The class all went according to surname's initial. Kai was using 'Satou' as his last name so he was still quite a ways off.

There weren't any noteworthy people in the class. They most likely avoided being i nteh same class as the president to stand out.

Once half an hour passed, it was Kai's turn. Seeing as how he was up, Anne quickly paid full attention.

"Anne, if you stare at me that much, I'll get embarrassed."

Anne immediately frowned but didn't take her eyes off Kai for even a second. Kai shrugged and used both of his palms to aim towards the dummy.

"Five hundred."

"Eh?"

The professor thought he had heard wrong.

"Huh?"

Anne was dumbfounded at his guess.

The quality of his mana is different from the rest, he's obviously A-class or above that but a measly five hundred was only barely enough to be considered E-class.

Everyone waited a whole five seconds before Kai spoke.

"[Fireball]!"

Now, everyone was in utter disbelief. First, he had said his magic power was at five hundred but now his cast time for the most basic of fire magic was five seconds?

Once the fireball left Kai's hands, nobody felt any pressure at all. It was small and it traveled slow but it had hit its mark.

Instead of exploding, it just dispersed as it hit the dummy but sure enough, there were five hundred points written in red above the dummy.

"Professor, that counts for a perfect score, right?"

"..."

The professor hadn't encountered anyone that shameless but true to the rules, this was about control. He had estimated his score perfectly.

"...Yes."

Reluctantly accepting Kai's score, the professor continued to go on the list but many of the students were already snickering as Kai walked back to Anne's side.

"You..."

Anne felt her head hurting.

She had years of practice to estimate within the thousands but Kai managed to estimate his magic power perfectly although it was low. If it was just that, then it would be fine but Kai obviously held back a lot.

"Why are you hiding your power?"

"I'm not, I was just hungry."

Saying so, Kai rubbed his stomach.

"...You told me you were fine."

Anne glared at Kai.

"I was just joking. I feel full whenever I see you full."

Kai gave a wink causing Anne to roll her eyes and focus on the next participant.

As class finished and Kai began following Anne, many of the students began whispering.

"Someone like that is following the president?"

"Does he think he can get benefits by being her follower?"

"How shameless..."

After the final class for the day had ended, Kai gave another rose to Anne alongside some physical contact and left as quickly as he came.

Day XX, Month 05, Year XX

The second day of the transfer students. I had gathered information about the ones in Combat Class, the most competent was a girl named Kuroshi Yoko, she has enough latent potential to become the strongest in close combat so keeping an eye on her is necessary. The others in the class are all superb as well, contact with them in the future to recruit them is advised.

Arcane Class, two of the three provided above average results while the third one, Alteria Sachiko has showed power near S-class, recruiting her is a must.

Rejuvenation Class, the student Satou Kenji has given another display of his perfect grades. During Arcane Class, he held even more knowledge than I as much as I'd hate to say it. All in all, he had shown great results in theory so far. Contact with him isn't necessary as of the moment.

He did give me a red rose but I won't answer to his feelings.

Day XX, Month 05, Year XX

The third day, Satou Kenji was given a perfect score in practical Arcane Class but his means were... questionable. He has great control over his mana and the quality is up to B-class but had only showed the power of E-class. His motives are unknown but keeping an eye on him isn't necessary.

He treated me to a meal today but hadn't eaten a proper one himself. He then had the gall to tease me about it! At the end of the day, he gave me another red rose which I added to my vase but answering his feelings is unlikely.
