《The subtle World of Terraria》Side Story (Princess Luna part 2)

*Luna POV*
I woke up to find Mia vigorously shaking me, trying to wake me up.
[LUNA WAKE UP ALREADY!!] (Mia)
[Huh? I'm Up! I'm Up! Don't tell me we're late!?] (Me)
[What? No! We're being Attacked! I have to get you to safety!] (Mia)
Huh?
I finally noticed Mia was sweating and trying to catch her breath.
MY groggy mind hadn’t woken up but I knew one thing.
Something terrible happened.
[What? Where's mom and dad-] (Me)
Just then I heard screams outside and the noises of sword clashes.
The situation was serious. Words wanted to come out, but they were stuck at my throat. My training was drilled into me in case of a fight and I was ready to cast my magic.
Just then the door opened and Reid came in covered in blood.
[Luna! Mia! Are you two okay!?] (Reid)
My mind instantly calmed down as I saw Reid alive but was worried about how he looked. Is it the blood of others on him or is it his own blood?
[R-Reid!? Forgot about me, what about you?! What's going on!?] (Me)
[No time to explain! I'm getting you to safety!] (Reid)
[Wait! Where's mom and dad?] (Me)
[Don't worry, we made sure that they're safe. You’re the last one! Come now, we don't have time to lose!] (Reid)
I sighed in relief. But was confused about something. What did he mean by the last one?
[Mia, your parents are evacuating through the Kitchen’s secret door. They should be waiting for you over there right now so go quickly. I'll take care of Luna.] (Reid)
[Wait, Reid what's going on!?] (Me)
[We're being Attacked. I don't know who they are, but they've outnumbered us 5 to 1. We have no chance of resistance, your father gave the order for evacuation so our only option now is to escape.] (Reid)
Those words terrified me. I looked over to Mia and she held my hands.
[Luna, you have to take care of yourself okay?] (Mia)
Mia started to cry a little bit.
I nodded and gave my best friend a final hug before she left. Tears also started to come out of my eyes as I realized that I don't know when I'll get to meet them again. Maybe she might even get kille-
I shook my head.
Think positive, everything will be alright.
She ran out.
Reid was clutching on to the side of his stomach in pain. And there was blood oozing out from there.
[You're hurt!] (Me)
[Don't worry about it, we have to get you out of here first.]
I didn't even listen and immediately casted lesser heal magic. The wound slowly started patching up.
I learned magic from when I was a child. Whether it was for self-defence or to help other. I never thought my magic would ever save someone’s life. But I’m really thankful that I learned it.
I looked at Reid and he looked at me helplessly.
[Please, don’t waste your energy. We have to get you out first.] (Reid)
I nodded and he grabbed my hand as we left my room.
He was leading me through the hallway carefully while checking every corner to see if we there were enemies around. Thankfully, there weren't.
But there was blood and corpses everywhere, some of the so called enemies, and some…
Of my own people.
I recognized a few of those people and my heart wanted to explode. My body did not want to move. It wanted to lie down there and mourn. But now was not the time. I bore the pain as Reid lead me away from there. My vision still started getting hazy because of the tears.

Pretty soon, We came to my father's secret wine cellar which he hides from Mom.
[Okay, go down here.] (Reid)
I nodded and climbed the ladder that went down to the darkness. I casted light magic to see better in the darkness. There were wooden barrels everywhere and I saw my mother and father hiding there behind the barrels.
[Mama! Papa!] (Me)
[Luna!] (Mother & Father)
I felt so relieved to see them alive and well that my body moved on its own as I jumped into their embrace.
[Thank goodness you're okay.] (Mother)
Mom said with some tears in her eyes.
[Thank you, Reid, you have no idea how much grateful I am to you.] (King)
I looked back to see Reid not coming down here.
[Don't be, your highness! I'm doing what I want to do, that's all. I have to go and finish my mission. Please take care of yourselves everyone.] (Reid)
He proceeded to close the cellars doors
[WAIT, REID!] (Me)
He stopped and looked at me.
[Stay with us!] (Me)
I was scared.
I was really scared. I saw so many of our people dead. I knew most of them, And no matter what I didn’t want Reid to join them.
[You know I can't do that right?] (Reid)
He gave an innocent yet helpless smile.
Eh?
[A lot of my good friends died today. I have to save the rest who aren't dead right now.] (Reid)
No please.
Don’t go!
[WHAT IF YOU GET KILLED!] (Me)
I knew I was being selfish but I couldn't hold back my anger.
[You came in my room with that giant wound on yourself! What makes you so sure you'll survive again!] (Me)
He started scratching his head as he looked helpless.
No please don’t leave me.
[Maybe not......but that won't stop me from trying.] (Reid)
[Wait! REID!!] (Me)
He didn’t listen to me and quickly closed the cellar door before I heard him run away.
YOU IDIOT! WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO BE A HERO!
[Mama! I'm going after him!] (Me)
As if my father already knew I would do this, He stood in between me and the door out of here.
[No! you aren't!] (Father)
[Papa, please! I beg you! Just this once move out of the way!] (Me)
[No! you have no idea who we're up against!] (Father)
[All the more reason to Go! Right?! I saw so many of us Dead! We have to save the ones we can right!?] (Me)
Please JUST MOVE!
I wanted to shove him away until he dropped a bombshell at me.
[No! Almost everyone is already killed what makes you think you can help! You'll just drag everyone down as they try to save you!] (Father)
I felt a sharp pain in my heart.
What.
Something blocked my throat and words refused to come out of my mouth.
[Wait..... What do you mean.......... that almost everyone is killed?] (Me)
Papa made a grim face.
[Hours ago, they attacked us suddenly for no reason. We tried to stop them and negotiate at the same time but they kept killing my people. We fought back but they were too many… Right now, the only ones alive that I know of are only Us, Mia's parents and Reid.] (Father)
No way........ Right?
My legs lost their strength and I fell right there.
I remembered the happy faces of everyone in the castle they all were such good people and sometimes played with me....... defended the kingdom.......took care of everyone....

I remember when Mrs. Marie, our cook, was pregnant and she was so happy after the birth of her child.
She became to be 4 years old few days ago. I also remember everyone else. Mr. Robert would play chess with father and me and papa would always get upset at how he never wins. The Triplets. Rose, Daisy and Jasmine were almost 7 years old. I remember when they made a flower crown for me.
My mother came up to me and hugged me..... she was also crying.
I also noticed papa's eyes were also wet.
They are all sad at the death's of their friends
And all this happened….
While I was sleeping.
My heart fell down into the deep void and for a second I couldn’t hear anything. I lost all hope.
…Wait.
[If… we are the only ones alive then where did Reid went?] (Me)
I asked in a heavy tone.
Papa looked away and couldn't look at me in the eyes. Mama was also looking at the ground.
What…
[Papa.... Where did Reid go?] (Me)
I asked again. Fear clutching my heart.
[He....... Volunteered to go on a suicide mission...... After everyone who’re alive are found, They will all escape from the secret tunnels made in various rooms. But we could still be found, so he will try to make the enemies chase him into the forest which would give everyone else a chance to escape.] (Father)
I couldn't breathe properly.
[It's a very slim chance but he wouldn't back down no matter what.] (Father)
[He said he wanted to get you and us to safety no matter what.] (Mother)
[I knew that boy for a long time. But now, he's much more bigger and his bravery puts mine to shame.] (Father)
My parents were saying something but I couldn't hear them. I just wanted to go out and bring Reid back. I can't bear him dying too.
[Flashbang!] (Me)
I used a magic that blinds everyone nearby for few seconds.
[LUNA!] (Father and Mother)
I ran up the ladder and opened the cellar door. No one was nearby. I ran outside the castle into its yard where the castle gate was. This is the only entrance to go in or outside this castle that I know of.
The castle gate which was a double door and touched the skies was open with Reid in front of me and his back facing me. There were countless hooded person with bows just behind the small hill that was just a bit far away from the gate.
There were dead bodies of both allies and enemies near Reid and his silver sword was completely dyed red with blood.
[REID!] (Me)
He looked behind and was shocked to see me.
[Luna! Why haven't you run away with the king yet!?] (Reid)
I saw the enemies archers shooting a volley of arrows towards us.
I get it.......he wanted to become a meat shield while we run away.
I clenched my fists in anger and this is the first time I was this angry. My vision turned Red. And I could only focus on Reid and the volley of arrows coming here.
I casted Ice shield.
A giant Ice shield was formed and floated right above us.
*Thud* *Thud* *Thud**Thud* *Thud*
I heard the large number of arrows hitting the ice shield. Seems like we're safe and my vision went back to normal.
My legs were out of strength as I fell down on my knees. I Probably used too much Mana.
[LUNA! ON YOUR RIGHT!!!] (Reid)
Reid ran towards me but he was still quite far.
I looked towards my right and there was an enemy charging towards me with a sword in his hand.
Huh.
Is this the end?
The pathetic princess who slept as her people died at her own castle?
I closed my eyes as I was too tired to move, I left everything to fate but some force hit me from behind and I fell forward into Reid's hands.
[YOUR HIGHNESS!!!] (Reid)
[HELPUTT!!!] (Mother)
I looked behind and saw my father was standing where I was standing before only.....he had a sword pierced through his shoulder.
All the doubts that were clouding my mind disappeared and instead, worry filled my mind.
[PAPA!!!] (Me)
Reid quickly placed me on the ground as his eyes turned from Blue to Blood red.
He charged straight towards the enemy while screaming. He ran with an insane speed that surprised me.
The enemy tried to attack Reid but Reid was faster and cut the enemy in two from the waist.
My legs didn't listen to me so I crawled towards where papa fell and he was bleeding profusely from the shoulder Reid carefully took the sword out of papa’s shoulder and Mama started casting healing magic on papa but the wound still didn't close.
[Why!?] (Mother)
[He hit me near the heart. It will take some time to heal.] (Father)
I wanted to cast heal too but I was out of Mana and I could hear arrows still hitting the shield. Thankfully, the shield is really sturdy.
Reid bandaged papa’s wound with some clothes he took out from somewhere to stop the bleeding.
[What do we do now?] (Mother)
My mom asked Reid while worried about papa. I wanted to do something too but My body wouldn’t move no matter what I did.
Reid looked reluctant to answer. Perhaps he thought of something?
[There's only one thing left that we can try, but.......] (Reid)
Reid said with a conflicting face.
[I don't care how dangerous it is. I just want my family to be safe.] (Mother)
Reid looked at mother's determined eyes and gave in.
[We can set the castle ablaze.] (Reid)
Reid said with a heavy voice as he stared at my mama.
[This will make them think they've won and we can run away in the disturbance. But the price is heavy and the chances are slim.] (Reid)
[Do it.] (Mama)
My mom said immediately with no hesitation.
Following her pace, Reid nodded and put my father on to his back.
My mom also grabbed me and placed me on her back. And for some reason, the ice shield didn't show any signs of cracking from all those arrows hitting it. It's much sturdier than the last time I've cast it.
{Author note: For those who forgot, Silver daemons can go Berserk which significantly improves their ability. Luna casted her Ice shield with Berserk which is why It’s strong.}
We headed towards the kitchen where there was a secret entrance, along the way, my mom would cast fire on anything nearby that was flammable.
We reached the kitchen and behind an empty bookshelf, there was a secret entrance, the entrance was just a dark tunnel that leads down to the darkness.
My mother brought me down. And Reid placed the bookshelf back to its original place after coming inside.
I couldn't see anything. But mama casted light magic and then we were able to see. Mama slowly brought me down the stairs alongside Reid who was carrying my father.........

Transposition
Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.

Can he use magic, blade and wit to fight them off? Or will he be the one to fall instead? Follow Vreil on his adventures. Witness the dawn of an era. 🧙🧙🧙 This is a story I'd written a few years back, and I figured it's a waste to just let it sit around. Most of it is already written, but I'm going through the chapters and editing the shit out of them. This story is NOT a Lit-RPG, so no blue screens or anything of the sort. It is just fast-paced fiction with slight cultivation elements. Updates are bi-daily (so every 2 days), and chapters are 1500-3000 words. As always, feedback is more than welcome. Why are you still reading the synopsis? You have already decided. Go ahead, give this story a shot. It's worth it.

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
