Linda's office
"Lucifer?"
"Yeah,doctor,what?"
"I asked you to describe me what changes you have observed on yourself since Chloe's death. But you seem to be half-asleep on my coach. Do nightmares still bother you?"
"I wish I had time to sleep."
"What keeps you awake at night?"
"A little ball of flesh and bones which cant stop laughing for some reason."
"Lucifer,do you mean your new little brother?"
"Who told you,doctor?"
"Amenadiel. He is so excited. He cant stop talking about him. But I see you dont share his opinion on the matter."
"Then why do you keep asking me these stupid questions since you already know the problem?"
"I wanted you to admit it yourself. But your description of him made him quite concerned. What are your feelings about him,Lucifer?"
"How do I feel that my Mother and Father had sex on Earth, while they were in human form, and now Im stuck with the mess they left behind? Thrilled."
"Okay,so you are frustrated. What makes you angry ,Lucifer? The fact your parents had sex?'
"Yes. But this is not the issue here. Why should I be the one to handle this newborn?I mean, hy cant I send him to Heaven to be raised by his others siblings?"
"That us a good question,Lucifer. Why cant you?"
"Because I found a letter from my father alongside this new problem. It says that he is my responsibility from now on. Can you imagine? And it happened right after the Detective's death."
"I understand that you have a lot to deal with right now. You always hated being told what to do and now,in a time where you need your personal time and space to mourn, you must devote yourself to someone else. And you dont want that."

"No. I dont. Thats why I dont care what my father says. "
"What do you mean?"
"I mean I dont pay any attention to the kid. Let Amenadiel take care of him."
"Yes,he did mention that you refuse to even hold him. You described me how you feel about this situation but you haven't answered my question. How do you feel about him?"
Licifer stayed silent for a few minutes.
"Nothing,in fact."
"Nothing? You feel nothing about your new baby brother?"
"I dont feel him as my brother."
"Ah,yes. You see him as just another problem God has thrown at your way."
"Exactly."
"Just like you saw Chloe."
"That was a blow below the waste and I think we are done here."
"All Im saying is that your fear and pride stole you precious time with Chloe. Just promise me you wont make the same mistake with your brother. Locking your heart again is a mistake. You will just go back to being who you were before Chloe appeared in your life. And she wouldn't want that."

Lucifer didnt answer,he just left.
"God,please. If you have some sort of plan to save Lucifer from returning to the same void from which Chloe saved him,it needs to happen now. Because he is slipping. Fast.
When he was out of the building, his phone started ringing. He picked it up,annoyed.
"What?"
"Lucifer you need to come here. Now."
"What happened?"
"Well,I had to go out for a few minutes,so l told Maze to keep an eye on our brother."
"Maze? Was he injured? Or better yet, killed?"
"Dont sound so amused and dont even joke about this. But he is fine. Physically,at least."
"Oh Maze apllied some sort of phycological torture on him? What was it? "
'She told him you died. And now he wont stop crying."
"She made him cry? Finally, now he will start acting like a normal baby. And because he thinks Im dead I can move to Europe. Or Australia. Or another universe",Lucifer said excited.
Amenadiel signed, removed the phone from his ear and put it close to the baby who was clutching on him for dear life.
It wasnt a usual cry coming from a baby. It wasnt screaming or a loud cry. At first Lucifer didnt hear anything. Then a quiet sob was heard and a few seconds after another one followed.
Lucifer had heard all kind of cries in his life. Cries of pain in Hell, cries of grief on Earth but this one was new. It was the most sincere sadness he had ever heard in his life. He swore he could hear the tears running on his brother's little face.
Lucifer didnt know what he was feeling but he was sure of one thing. He wanted that cry to stop. Now.
"Okay,I will be there as soon as I can. In the meantime put me on speaker. Maybe my voice will convince him that I am still very much alive."
"We...kind of tried that. We played him a voice message you send us right before your appointment with Linda and it only made things worse."
"How could it made it worse?"
"Well, now he thinks you are a ghost and you are haunting him. And he wont let me go because he thinks that Im the one place your ghost wont approach."
"And how did our brother tell you all that?"
"With gestures."
"Gestures?!"
"Yeah, believe it or not my connection to him seems to be stronger than yours."
"Either that or you have a vivid imagination. Anyway,I will be there in ten minutes."
"Hurry please."
"Fine",Lucifer said and he hung up
It scared him how perceptive that baby was.And he was still only one month's old.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
