Johanna wanted to collapse from exhaustion and relief. Maybe Lucifer's baby brother would make it.But she still wasnt sure how bruises and cuts had led him to the surgery table. All of his toxicology exams came back clean.No drugs were found in his body.Then why he has been at death's doorstep for the past two hours?

-Heart rate rising dangerously high! Over 100 beats!

-This cant continue. His body will not be able to take much more of this.Give me 20 mg of acetylcholine and we need to intubate him.

-But doctor.....

-We dont have a medical reason to intubate him. His body only has a few broken ribs,some bruises and a couple of face cuts.

Οnce the surgery was over and David has been moved to the ICU,where his life continued hanging by a thread,Johanna took a moment to sit down and relax but she couldnt. What was she going to say to Lucifer? How she was going to explain why his brother was dying when she didnt even know the answer herself.

-Johanna!

That was Lucifer's voice. God,she wasnt ready for this. He continued to march her way. It didnt matter if she was ready or not. Amenadiel didnt manage to hold Lucifer any longer and now she would have to face him.

-What are you doing sitting around? Is the surgery over?

-Yes....but

-It was only for precautionary reasons,right? I mean,he didnt have anything except a few minor injuries

This was going to be harder than she originally thought but it had to be done.

-You know Lucifer that no surgery is done for precautionary reasons.He died three times on the operating table,his heart rate kept going up and down and.....

What happened next was both expected and surprising. Lucifer grabbing her from the collar of her robe and looking at her furious was anticipated.But the tears that threatened to fall from his eyes were a sight new to her. He was using anger to hide his grief.

-I brought him here merely uncouncious and now you are telling him that his life is in danger? And you expect me to believe that you and your team had nothing to do with it.

-I understand that it seems surreal and I dont blame you for accusing me. But you have known me for years and trust me when I tell you that we have no idea what is wrong with him. No drugs were found in his system,no major injury was detected. I dont say this often but please believe me,Lucifer,when I tell you that I dont know.

Lucifer let her go and seemed to relax a bit. But Johanna quickly realised that she was wrong. It wasnt calmness that reduced his anger. It was self-blame. Lucifer was still angry but now this anger wasnt directed at her.

-Johanna. Im sorry he just stormed out.How is David?

Amenadiel has just appeared running behind Lucifer. Johanna was about to answer him but just as soon as Amenadiel took a better look at Lucifer,he panicked and leaded Lucifer to the nearest chair.

-Lucifer! What happened? You are pale and you are shaking.

Then Johanna realised that in midst of her panic she had avoided looking Lucifer in the eyes but now that he sat down she realised with terror that he was at the brick of collapse due to the shock.

-Johanna! What are you staring at?! Quick,bring him a glass of water before he faints.Lucifer,try to take deep breaths and please tell me what Johanna told you.

At that moment Johanna returned with the glass of water but Lucifer shoved the glass out of her hand which landed on the floor and broke to a million pieces. Then he stood up quickly and started yelling

-My brother is fighting for his life in the ICU and your main concern is if I am going to faint?!!Johanna,I want to see him.

-But thats not possible at the moment. No one is allowed in outside of visiting hours,except the doctors and nurses.

Johanna was sure that if Amenadiel wasnt holding him,he would have grabbed her again.

-I dont care how you make it happen but I want to be by his side in the next 10 minutes. Understand?
