They reached the deserted area and they took their stances, unlike the spar with Deji they had blunted weapons made of metal as practice weapons. Mira had 2 axes, one was holstered, and a few throwing knives. Funmi had 2 swords, one long and one short.

The battle began and they lounged at each other, Mira quickly noticed Funmi’s advantages. Funmi was very flexible, she was able to pull attacks and dodges from impossible angles, she switched easily between her long and short swords, making her lethal at mid and short ranges, but her strength was lacking.

She was always pushed back by Mira’s axe blows although she always regained her balance quicker than Mira expected. Funmi said as they fought “Let’s use energy, I’ll give you a surprise” and winked.

Mira nodded and enhanced herself with energy; her blows became a little faster and stronger. But it didn’t make a difference, the battle was happening just like it was before they used energy, just at a faster pace, she had expected it.

2 minutes into the battle, Mira was on the losing side. The battle had been going normally but Mira noticed it after 30 seconds of fighting while using energy; Funmi’s blows were getting stronger and faster. Up until that point Mira’s attacks sent Funmi spinning and flying through the air, but now Funmi’s attacks were lifting her of her feet, even with her improved strength.

Not only were Funmi’s blows getting stronger, her speed was increasing. Every time Mira hit her away, she rebounded faster and faster with more power to her blows.

After more time passed the battle entered a new dimension; Mira couldn’t see Funmi clearly anymore, she was a blur, she had stopped attacking and Funmi’s strength and speed wasn’t increasing anymore, but she hadn’t stopped attacking for that purpose, she stopped attacking because she couldn’t afford it anymore.

Mira raised a hand, signaling that Funmi should stop. Funmi zipped past her and performed a sword thrust toward the debris in the area. The ground was gorged by the attack for about 40 meters and the debris in the attack area was reduced to powder.

Mira’s jaw dropped when she saw that, she knew she couldn’t block that. Funmi, seeing Mira’s shock, puffed up with pride and said “I was only using 30% of 2% of my true power” but as if fate was playing a joke with her, she stumbled and fell. She was dizzy and tired; sweat was dripping from her fore head.

Mira helped her up and said “What was that? It was amazing, how did you do it?” with stars in her eyes. Funmi smiled, looked into Mira’s eyes and pushed her forehead back with two of her fingers, her index and middle finger.

Mira touched the spot Funmi had hit and thought ‘Where has this happened to me before? … wait, isn’t this what Jade did when he left?’ Mira asked with a surprised expression “Why? Why did you push my head like that?”

Funmi said with an unfocused expression “You haven’t watched Naruto? Under what rock have you been living?” Mira was silent as she thought ‘I guess there are still a lot of things I don’t know’. Funmi said “You want to know how I did that, right?” smiling smugly with an unfocused expression.

She said “I was stealing your kinetic energy, or should I say siphoning it. Energy can turn into other forms of energy if they’re in contact, so I surrounded my weapon with pure energy and turned it to kinetic energy when out weapons clashed, I circulate the kinetic energy with my body movements and energy control, as I continue to do this I gain more power and speed. At the end of our fight I had turned most of my energy to kinetic energy and I was moving way to fast. It has some drawbacks but it’s a great technique, once I perfect it, it will be unstoppable. I call it Karma’s a bitch”

Mira’s eyes shone and she said “Amazing! Funmi you’re amazing! You created a new technique on your own!” Funmi’s head swelled with pride as Mira praised her. Mira asked “Are there other techniques?” Funmi shook her head and said “There aren’t any like this. Some people consider controlling energy a technique of its own, but when it comes to energy techniques this is the first”

Mira’s eyes were filled with even more stars, but then they dimmed as she thought ‘While she was improving and doing the impossible, I was busy just using what Jade gave me to get stronger. When will I stop relying on him?’

Funmi sensing the lack of praises and complements focused her eyes on Mira and saw she was down. She said “Why are you sad?” Mira answered “I just feel like I don’t deserve what I’ve been given. Mira looked at Funmi with a shocked and appreciative expression, she said “Thanks”. Funmi smiled and said “Of course, but to become as amazing as I am you have to do 100 push up, 100 squats, 100 sit ups and a 10 kilometer run every single day”

Mira didn’t get the joke but she laughed anyway. She helped Funmi all the way to the hotel and went to her room to take a break.
