They went from the lab back to the reception of the office and asked to speak with Jola. Surprisingly there wasn’t much waiting and Jola came to escort them to a conference room. Along the way he said “I heard what you’re planning on doing for the sanctuary and I really appreciate it”. Funmi replied “As long as we get all the en-codes you can appreciate all you want”.

Jola looked crestfallen; Anita had told him about their true motives but he had remained hopeful. They continued the walk to the conference room in silence. In the conference room all the necessary administrators were sitting, there were seats for Mira, Bola and the teens.

When they started Anita began the meeting by saying “I know you just want us to give you all the resources for your academies while you get all the profits. That’s fine with me since it’ll make the sanctuary stronger but teaching can get boring and frustrating so when you do get bored and tired of teaching, you have to promise us that you would resign and hand over the baton to your students, who would have learnt from you. The baton being the academy and the fees the people would pay, you will still get a part of it and you will still be a part of the schools administrative committee but you wouldn’t get as much as when you were teaching unless you decide to teach again. Do you agree?”

The group was shocked by the suddenly business atmosphere but they adapted and nodded in agreement. Anita continued “As for Bella, your ability is very essential and it is something we’ve never seen before so we would love to invest in you and find was to train your ability, in exchange you will assist us in our campaigns by disconnecting minds from their subordinates. What do you say?”

Bella shook her head and said “We may leave the sanctuary at any point; I don’t want to be held back by a long term contract. I can feel that is what this investment would lead to”

Anita thought for a while and said “I guess you haven’t seen the other settlements. Most of them are horrible, but still… Ok, there is something we are planning that I want to tell you but you must keep it a secret”

Bella felt the room’s atmosphere go tense and she and her group along with Mira and Funmi nodded. Anita said “We are going to a meeting organized for all the settlements, I can’t go into much detail about it now but if you would like we can allow you follow us so that you will be able to see the state of other settlements”

Mira and Funmi, without a pause, voiced their agreement. Gbenga and his group had a psychic meeting for some seconds and nodded in agreement before Gbenga said “We would love to go”.

The meeting continued and they discussed the price of the fees and other related matters. Then a question was asked toward the end by Teni “What will we call the academy”. Funmi raised her hand and said “Ninja Academy”, the faces of the other members was enough to show their disagreement.

Deji raised his hand and said “Sanctuary Academy”, the faces of the meeting members were leaning toward agreement before Mira, Funmi and the teens chorused “NO!”

Kore raised his hand and said “What about High Human High” Anita said “You know it’s not a high school, right?”

Various opinions were raised and they had to settle on “Ranker Academy”.

The next day the Karma Trends and Threads magazine had a very special segment. The introduction of the new Rank 5 teens and a new Rank 6 caused uproar among the teens that read it.

The sanctuary was in an even bigger uproar; copies of the Magic manual were being sold like hot cakes after their announcement some few seconds earlier.

What was most amazing was the announcement of the Ranker Academy where you could learn the skills and techniques of other rankers without selling your soul and for a reasonable en-code price. One of the skills that were available was the aura manipulation skill. The course even included lessons on activating aura which Lekan couldn’t give as he didn’t know how to activate aura.

Lekan immediately raised a complaint of his lessons being stolen but as the teens were new to the sanctuary no one could accuse them of stealing his teaching which they didn’t have access to. The students in his dojo who had not activated their aura manipulation abilities were allowed to null their contract with him after paying a sum of en-code since he did give them some lessons. The ones who had activated their aura had to fulfill the contract though.

The ranker academy was scheduled to be opened in a week in one of the newer territories. Anyone was allowed to learn as long as they met the requirement for the course. The courses were:

The technique still has future potential and it is advised that Rank 2s take this course as the skill is not only useful for combat but also for learning and a great many other things. It is predicted that those who go through this course would have an easier time ranking up.
