《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 142: Jade’s Compromise

To create the Doping Pod, Jade had to first learned how every tissue in the human body grew from the medical knowledge he had gotten from his deals. A Neurosurgeon had also contributed to the knowledge so he had also learnt various details about the human brain.
Jade didn’t stop there, he knew there would be differences between a superior Primordial Human and a normal human so he did various tests on himself and found out various things.
Tissues like ligaments could not be regenerated by the human body but a Primordial Human could regenerate those tissues naturally. The tissue structure of Primordial Humans was also quite different from those of humans, although there were some similarities.
The main problem came from the brain. Humans didn’t fully understand their brains and Jade with his superior intelligence found his brain to be an extremely complex organ. Jade gave up on fully understanding it and his research focused on the parts of his brain that was similar to humans since he fully understood the human brain.
From all his research into the body’s secrets Jade made the Doping Pod. Its purpose was to accelerate the growth of the body with synthesized hormones and concentrated nutrients from various monsters and by extension it would increase his stats. To that end Jade had made a deal with Satoshi; in exchange for making his latest weapons and technological devices that were available for sale for his city for 10 years Satoshi would give Jade the corpses of monsters from Rank 15 up to Rank 20.
Satoshi would have never agreed to this deal before but the weapons and technology Jade sold had become more and more powerful, useful and convenient as he absorbed all the knowledge he was given. Satoshi knew that Jade was probably the greatest creator in the world considering he had a superior intelligence while being an Ancient Grade race so he didn’t want to miss out on the chance to invest.

Now Jade sat before the result of all his investments as he listed the side effects that going through the doping would have on him. “Cancerous tissue growth in every part of my body after 3 months, brain tumors growths after 8 months, intense tissue rejection that causes my cells to break down after 1 year, atrophied reproduction capabilities immediately after the treatment is done, and a high amount of toxins will be generated by my body every time I eat after the treatment”
Jade sighed and stated the benefits “At the end of the treatment I would have reached the pinnacle of the Superior Primordial Human race in every stat apart from energy. Getting a transcendent stat and killing a Rank 19 will come after that”.
Jade didn’t have an acceptable understanding of the energy organ so he couldn’t find a way to improve it quickly. If he spent years researching, he might have been able to but he didn’t have such time. Living to see the end of the week had at this point become a constant nightmare to him. His perception of who he was was slipping away with every passing week. That was why he ensured that he would be sleeping during the two months he would spend undergoing the treatment.
After alerting the Daimyos, Daisuke and Mira about his two months of absence he entered the pod. As an apology for the lack of hunts which Daisuke could benefit from, he sent armor he made to him. After studying Daisuke’s ability Jade made an armor that could use a similar ability but to a greater extent so that Daisuke could learn from it while he grew stronger.
The green pod opened up and revealed many needles inside that would inject the required nutrients into the proper places. The needles were very long and anyone who saw the inside of the pod would hesitate to enter it but under the constant assault of the Soul Parasite, Jade had forgotten the experience of fear every child had with needles so he just gritted his teeth and let out a grunt as he lied down on a bed of needles that pierced him to his bone.

The pod closed after sensing that he had entered it and the needles behind the lid pierced Jade again giving him another round of pain as the lid descended and closed the pod. A gas mask was placed over his nose by a robotic arm attached to the lid and sleeping and numbing gas strong enough to knock a Primordial Human out flowed through it to Jade’s nose.
Jade closed his eyes and slept peacefully in the pod and his last thought was ‘I should have made it so that the needles come after I’ve slept. That was so dumb’.
5 months had passed since the start of the Coronation War. 3 months remained.
…
During the 4 months of Jade’s research and learning Mira had focused on improving her new skill, Nova. The golden pearl was a pain to use in a fight, it was too hard to control when it broke and it was too powerful so it was as harmful to Mira as it was to her opponent.
Mira focused more of her time less on fighting with the skill and spent time understanding the skill. She knew it was an a representation of her ambition but she wondered ‘What if I achieve what I’m aiming for, what will happen to the skill? Will it just disappear or will its potential stall?’
Mira sighed and thought ‘That’s a question for a future date’. Mira created a small pearl and examined it as she thought ‘It’s a Tough Bubble from my perspective but it is a Normal Bubble from Samuel’s perspective. I can detonate it but I can’t get it to seep into the body of my target which was what made the previous version, Energy Burst, so powerful’
Mira silently stared at the ball in her hand for a while before she thought ‘But it is still energy… Even though it is my ambition it is still energy from my energy organ. Let’s work from there’.
Pure Energy was immaterial it could seep through anything and would only be repelled by normal energy. Mira began her training with two exercises; training to be able to create the Novas quicker, which involved Mira creating many Novas as fast as she could, and trying to turn the Novas immaterial’.
After 2 weeks of training Mira was able to turn the Novas immaterial but she couldn’t control it well until 3 months of training passed. At the end of the 3 months the time it took for Mira to cover her body with Novas had reduced from 15 minutes to 3 minutes but Mira was far from satisfied; 3 minutes was far to long, the monsters wouldn’t wait for her to finish going super sayian before attacking her.
Mira wanted to train further but the 3 months that passed by were not wasted by the monsters. With many Kings being formed, kingdoms where also forming. Monsters with superior intelligence would attack other monsters hordes and force them to join their ranks after signing contracts with King’s Word or they would kill them to get more souls.

Orc Lord
A young woman just starting out in life is killed tragically in a car accident. However, she soon regains consciousness as a baby in a fantasy world. But... she's an Orc?! It would be good if she could just enjoy her new life quietly, but she seems destined for war and carnage. How will she fare as a monster in a fantasy world? ________________ This story will have a total of three arcs: Arc 1, The Birth of Babylon: 571 pages (complete) Arc 2, The Baphomet War: 420 pages (complete) Arc 3, The Mad Queen of Carnage: (in progress) ________________ Ultimately, I'm writing this for enjoyment. If you enjoy it too, fantastic! Gore: Extremely infrequent, but moderately intense. Profanity: There are a few swear words here and there, as well as some more creative insults. Traumatizing Content: While I'm at it, there are some questionable morals displayed (mostly after chapter 77). So far we can check off slavery, brainwashing, war, and genocide. This story starts off very Light Novel-ish because I was reading a lot of them at the time. The writing style gradually matures as it goes. Sorry, but I don't have the stamina to go back and fix everything, even if I know it gets pretty roughshod at times. New readers, please keep in mind, I make use of "unreliable narrators" at times. My story accepts donations, but it is free to read and I've only uploaded it here. Lastly, Orc Lord is a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying ending. One of my long breaks triggered a dishonor, but I'll redeem it someday when it's actually finished. I'm the ultimate necromancer author. ;P
