Mira woke up a day after she used Supernova. She thought ‘This one is quite different’ as she remembered the skill worked. The white flames, the fatigue she thought ‘Even when I exhaust my energy I don’t get so fatigued. It’s like the skill used both stamina and energy to work’.

She got up from her bed and walked toward the door of her room; someone had brought her to her room. Her IP said ‘You have killed a Rank 8 creature. You have killed a Rank 9 creature. You have killed a Rank 10 creature. You have completed the hidden quest’

Mira chuckled when she finished reading the notification. She thought ‘I guess it’s the IP’s way of saying I should just evolve already’. She went out of her room to the door of the room beside her own and knocked.

A blonde woman that looked to be in her twenties came out. She had red eyes and longer than normal canines which were fangs making her out to be a vampire. She and said “You woken up!” on seeing Mira. Mira nodded and said “Hi Liv! How long have I been asleep?” Liv answered “A day or so. A lot has happened”

Mira said “Can you give me a run down?” Liv nodded and invited Mira inside. Mira sat on a chair while Liv sat on her bed and said “Some really high Rank monsters and the Rank 20 King attacked platoon C. Charlotte came in time to rescue them and she even killed the monsters. It seems she can now control corpses, like undead, zombies, so their corpses guard this location.

It would seem that we were on a roll but some of the monsters that ran away after Charlotte’s fight came back and pledged allegiance to us. They were few though; a lot of the monsters were afraid of us according to the Werewolf and ran to the territory of some neighboring King. So we can’t go on raids until Samuel wakes up and uses King’s word to ensure our safety so that we can raid the other Kings with the monsters. Samuel should be waking up today”.

Mira nodded and went back to her room. She asked her IP ‘Why didn’t I get the reward for bringing all my stats to Pinnacle Rank?’. Her IP replied ‘You did, the rewards were similar to the reward of the quest to get one stat to Transcendent so it wasn’t worth announcing when you were in dangerous territory’.

Mira asked her IP ‘How much en-code do I have’. Her IP showed her a screen:

A few hours passed until it was announced on the radios that Samuel had woken up. Mira went to the underground warehouse where he stayed while evolving along with a few other people.

Kenny, Charlotte and Jake were also there along with the other people. Samuel didn’t look so different but everyone’s IP denoted him as a Rank 7 Original Vampire. Many people were congratulating him so Mira waited till they were done.

When she saw that he was free she approached him, ignoring her IP’s notification of his new race, and hugged him while saying “I hope this will help you feel better about yourself”. Samuel replied “It should. It’s your turn now”.

Mira broke the hug and said “Yup”. When the pleasantries were done, Jake announced “Mira is going to be evolving next. She will be evolving to a Mythical grade race because she has a Transcendent stat. Although I’m quite sad that Samuel had to evolve to an Ancient grade, it was his choice. I hope everyone can also get a Transcendent stat one way or another so they can skip a grade”

He turned to Mira and said “Do you want to start now or do you have something to say”. Mira said “No, I’ll start then”. She told her IP ‘Let’s evolve now’. He IP said ‘Understood’.

Mira’s vision darkened and her mind went into a trance as she fell backward to the floor, hitting her head on it. The poor floor was broken and Mira was unscathed while Jake noticed how weird it was that no one flinched at the fact that Mira just trust fell with no one to trust. He thought ‘We stray farther from being human’.

In the darkened world her Mira’s IP showed a screen.

Mira was quite shocked at what she was seeing. She never expected that so many things would be taken into consideration. She thought ‘Samuel didn’t say anything about this. Could it be that it only happens for people who are skipping a grade? Or am I going to forget what is happening here when it’s done?’
