《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 166: Evolution (Mira) 2
Advertisement
About 3 weeks later, Night City.
Everyone knew Mira was almost done with her evolution… Why?
The building above the underground warehouse that Mira was evolving in and the buildings around it had started burning 3 days ago and now they were completely burnt to ash. The underground ware house itself had become a pool of magma.
This caused the people to highly anticipate Mira’s new form and to strive towards getting a Mythical race.
…
Mira woke up 3 weeks and 5 days later. She opened her eyes but all she saw was red, like she was submerged and partially floating in some cool red liquid. She wasn’t startled too much because her eyes saw past the red liquid and could see the rocks that contained it.
She then realized that she was breathing in the red liquid without problem, which was a very weird feeling since she was supposed to be drowning. She looked at her body and noticed her skin was red but she attributed it to the red liquid she was now in. Her clothes had completely vanished for some reason so she could see all of herself.
She felt new information in her mind on how to use her abilities and such but she also felt the presence of many living creatures even though her energy zone was currently compressed. She focused on these presences and realized that they were humans and vampires from the vague memories she gleamed from them.
She instinctually reached out to the mind of one of them and said ‘It’s Mira. I’m awake. Tell everyone to distance themselves from me. I might hurt people in unintentionally since I don’t understand my powers yet’.
The mind she spoke to was frightened but the person calmed down and spread the message soon enough. Mira though was shocked at what she just did ‘This wasn’t in the race description! IP, how was I able to do that? It felt as easy as talking to a person!’
Her IP responded ‘High Intelligence stat’. Mira was still confused as she thought ‘Is that all?’ She shook her head in dejection at the IP’s unspecific answer as she thought ‘It was so talkative when I was evolving’.

Mira tapped into the new sense again and noticed that no one had moved away. A little pissed, she searched for the mind of the person she spoke to before and found it interacting with another mind. She asked ‘Why aren’t they gone yet?’
The mind responded ‘They don’t believe me! They think I’m pranking them!’ in annoyance. Mira connected to all the minds around her and said ‘It’s Mira. Move away! I might hurt you intentionally in the state that I am’.
All the minds were startled but soon enough they began moving away. Mira noticed that their movement and response was extremely slow to her and she realized that she was quite impatient as time seemed slower in her perspective.
Some 10 minutes later the people had moved away and had called Samuel who was currently in charge of the city. Those 10 minutes were like hours to Mira who had spent them checking out her Morphing ability by stretching and contracting her limbs in unnatural ways.
When they had moved an appropriate distance Mira realized a new problem. She didn’t know which way was up. She was currently floating in the cool red liquid and now that she considered it she didn’t understand why. She couldn’t sense gravity pulling her down anymore even though she should have weighed a few tons with all the Uranium in her body.
She quickly found a solution to the problem by just trying to approach the level of the minds she could previously sense. Hence she swam in a certain direction but her body did more than swim, it seemed to float on its own while carrying her in the direction she willed it to.
She quickly gained grasp of the new ability and floated upward until she went out of the red liquid. Her body shot through the layer of rocks above her and she flew in the air and came to a stop some meters above the red liquid which she now realized was magma as it dripped off her body.
She looked around her and realized that everything was burnt to ash within 300 meter radius of her. The burning effect seemed unrealistic until she realized her new height. She was currently 15 feet tall and her skin was now red like clay; she was humongous.

She saw the people looking at her from afar and finally realized she was naked before them. She descended back into the magma, which now felt like cool water, to hide her nakedness. She thought ‘Am I going to just remain naked or do I now need Jade to make clothes for me’.
She thought of how to fix this problem then she remembered that she should be able to reduce her body temperature with Morphing… But she didn’t know how to do that. She never went to school so she didn’t know that reducing her heart rate and blood pressure was the best way to reduce her body temperature. So she just willed her body to cool down… which did nothing at all.
She sighed in frustration after 2 seconds of failure but she noticed something. She felt like she was holding the magma around her as well as her own body when she floated before. She focused on the feeling and realized that everything within a 150 meter radius of her felt like it was in her grasp.
She controlled her ‘grasp’ and made the magma cover her like a body suit as she floated up again. She was extremely shocked at her success and asked her IP ‘How did I do that?’
It responded ‘High Strength stat’. This answer served only to further confuse Mira as she thought ‘Isn’t this supposed to be a result of High Intelligence or Energy maybe?’
She removed her worry and thought ‘Now to reduce the heat my body is emitting… I honestly don’t feel anything but my energy zone can sense it’. Her energy zone was currently so compressed that it was inside her head and wasn’t visible on the outside.
She expanded it and made it outline her body that was covered in the magma body suit. She turned the energy into diamond and covered her whole body with a layer of it to contain the heat and radiation she was emitting. Her energy zone was still some centimeters outside the diamond layer so she could sense the escaping heat and radiation.
She thickened the layer of Diamond until nothing escaped anymore. She would naturally be worried about air but her new body seemed to have no need of it since she didn’t get the discomfort one gets when holding his/her breathe. She smiled on seeing that she had solved the problem and flew toward Samuel who she could see in the distance.

{Name: Samira, the scar of the universe
Race: Mutant: Perfect Chimera/Gene Lord (Boundless Mythical Grade)
Territory: 3rd Moon (Physical Realm)
Specialty: Combat (Martial Artist: Power Pugilist)
Job: Apocalypse Horseman (Red)
Pantheon: Star
Diplomatic Notes: Samira has an easy going personality, easy to make friends with for most people. She is sort of a training maniac and because of her race this hobby causes her to battle a lot. Hence she is a battle maniac. She has a soft spot for weak creatures and tends towards avoiding them in battle or raising them if they have no one to rely on.
She truly believes in the notion that everyone is equal regardless of the race of the person, as most members of the Star Pantheon do. Hence she is easily pissed when people treat others as lesser because of their race, hence her reputation in the Xeno-Racism event.
Combat Notes: Samira is a master at using stamina, energy and biomass to fight. She uses diamond which is a transcendent form of energy. She uses drive which is an advanced from of stamina. And her evolution allows her to freely manipulate her cells and allows her to manifest different traits of different races.
Samira can take the traits of a race as long as she get genetic material of the race (blood, flesh, etc). This makes it annoying to fight her since she can take what makes any race special and use it if she can successfully hurt a member of the race. There is a limit to the amount of race abilities she can copy but the details are unknown.}

The Nightcore Trilogy
Going to space was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime, but for Reece Danielson and his crew, it was only the beginning. As the fresh astronauts aboard the Zhengzhou International Space Station start their on-the-job training, Reece is shown a discovery that changes his entire worldview. It isn’t long before a tragic accident aboard the station sets off a series of events that not only puts the crew in danger but at odds with each other. The events quickly escalate into a man-made apocalyptic incident on the surface of the planet. A virulent plague is prematurely released which transforms everyone into flesh-eating undead, and that is only the beginning of the troubles. There are far worse things down there than zombies and possibly a few of them lurk on the station itself. The Nightcore Trilogy thematically begins with a heavy sci-fi feel coupled to a gritty space-based horror mystery. The story's layers are slowly peeled back, evolving into something much more supernatural, mythological, and high-fantasy-based. It's a mix of elements from survival horror, zombie apocalypses, ancient mythologies, supernatural stories, and harem anime. It contains semi-descriptive sex scenes (traditional and non-traditional), descriptions of gore, profanity, and adult situations, so I recommend it for mature and open-minded audiences only.
