《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 206: Evolution (Jade) 2

1 month later, in a space with only air
Jade woke up. He thought ‘I should probably go to a place with few people to check myself out’. He used his soul map privilege, a privilege he only kept due to getting the event limited job, Soul Hunter. He found a place in Russia with very few souls sparsely distributed and decided that he would go there.
By the time he blinked he was falling from the clouds. The first thought that came to him was ‘Am I in another illusion’. He assessed his surroundings and felt a great conviction that everything was real. He assessed his memories and realized that he had teleported the moment he decided on a location, without actually trying to make a portal.
Jade’s perception of time was still unstable since his mid was getting used to his body hence he hit a building before he knew it.
“BOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The building was crushed due to his mass and acceleration and the ground quaked due to his fall. Jade felt no pain only the sensation of hitting an object, his body wasn’t hurt. He tried to stand up from the rubble but he was too heavy and kept sinking into the ground. Slowly he realized that the reason why he could still struggle to stand was because he was partially floating.
He tapped into this feeling and levitated above the rubble. He finally had the chance to look at himself. His senses were different in this body, it was like every single cell in his body had all his 6 senses and more, it was his sphere of awareness that people got when they got Grade 4 of above senses amplified by his Cosmic Energy, but he didn’t know that.
His body looked like it was made of a black metal with many tiny light sparse sparkles of different colors on it. The lights looked distant, like they were light from far away stars. This was the Erudite Level material, Cosmos.

His body was no longer similar to a human’s even though it had the same shape. For one it was more of a circuit with Cosmic Energy flowing through it than a system with blood vessels, organs and the like. His body temperature was unstable as it constantly changed at a very high pace. This was a property of Cosmos, its properties, conductivity, mass, fiction coefficient, tensile strength, elasticity, etc, where always changing and they could achieve values that were not possible or even imaginable with human knowledge.
Jade stretched his arm before him and made another arm branch out of his palm and another and another. The material was easy to control for someone with such high intelligence like he him. Jade thought ‘My body is the best material for forging… Wow, that’s such an inhuman opinion imagine making weapons from one’s body parts or making one’s body a weapon. I really a freak now’.
Jade tapped into his senses and realized he could get way more information compared to when he was human. He could actually feel the flow of time and his weight on space and how vague or real his existence was. He could easily sense things on the atomic level and the world looked completely different than the memories he had of it when he was human.
He could faintly feel the energy of the universe constantly speaking to him telling him in a weird language that he somehow understood the state of the world around him. He could also feel something he never noticed before, as a Primordial Human with high senses and as a human with access to magnificent technology he never knew of it. He could feel the energy of the planet, it was Cosmic energy but it had an energy zone.
Jade realized quickly that it was this energy that was used to refill the energy organs of creatures. Jade closed his eyes and tried to switch to his soul realm but he realized that the eyes he had were just for fashion, he could see and sense things quite well without them.

It took him a while but he successfully entered a meditative state and accessed his soul realm. The place had changed greatly due to his growth and he could see so many planets in the distance and they were all connected by strings. There were now wormholes that represented his Space soul glyph. The True Dream ability had changed from hands to a planet filled with various production lines, forging stalls, labs and all sort of other things associated with creating things.
There were also the new Beyond-Death and Cosmic-Soul soul glyphs. The Beyond-Death soul glyph was a planet sized replica of his new body. The Cosmic-Soul soul glyph was a chaotic mixture of energies, matter and concepts that formed a shining star with planets and asteroids revolving around it in the dark space that was Jade’s soul. It was the only star in the soul realm and Jade was ecstatic to check out how his glyphs worked. He could now see his soul realm and simultaneously sense the material world around him which he decided to do now constantly since it only required him to be in a meditative state.
The Soul Mandala did have a manifestation; it was the strings that connected all the planets and heavenly bodies. Jade could precisely control the strings hence he could control every part of his soul easily with it. He the thought, ‘The major advantage of it was in the empty soul realm though’.
Talking about the empty soul realm and Soul Mandala he remembered all the pain he had been through to get here and now he was here. The Soul Parasite was gone and he had evolved and gained 3 soul glyphs along with many other things. His luck hadn’t been good and he was targeted by monsters that were way beyond him but he was now here, on the same level of power as the monster that haunted his dreams. He had gone through the test and he had come out strong!
Jade shouted “YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
He didn’t have lungs in this new form but his body formed a speaker in his throat when he wanted to speak like it had a mind of its own. The sound was so loud it vibrated the area he was in, cracked glasses and turned concrete into powder.
Jade continued regardless as he imagined what he would do to the Infant Ocean Master that took it upon itself to be a pain in his ass.
“I’M!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
He was amused at the fact that all the efforts of the monster had failed and it was now about to become the tormented.
“THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
He thought about how fulfilled his family was when they heard how he had defied the world and taken revenge for them. The world had put a mark on his back but it couldn’t stop him, the Infant Ocean Master had put a mark to but it only helped him. Now here he was one of the winners of the apocalypse.
“NIGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
