Jade and Mira dashed toward each other, they created air platforms with their force fields and jumped toward each other, but Jade was faster. Why? His legs had turned into a Kangaroo’s which gave him a better performance than Mira’s legs. They arrived before each other and Mira punched toward Jade while he pulled his hands back while morphing them.

Mira’s punch was about to reach his face when she got hit in the face and thrown away by the hit, she didn’t even see it coming. Mira asked “What did you do?” Jade showed her his left hand that he used to punch her and she noticed how it had changed shape. His palms had turned to clubs and the other parts of his hands had changed to resemble that of a Mantis Shrimp.

Mira asked “What happened to your hands why did you make them like that?” Jade sighed and said “Your abilities would make a good fit for someone who knows a lot of biology” Mira said “Samuel said the same thing”. Jade nodded and said “Whoever Samuel is, he is right. This is the arm of a mantis shrimp, the fastest punching animal before the apocalypse. By copying its physique and powering it with my other worldly stats I can completely buff up my agility stat and execute a punch that is in a completely different dimension than yours when it comes to speed”.

Mira nodded and said “I didn’t think the difference would be so much”. Jade said “It is to be expected since you did know much hence your imagination was limited. Imagination! That is what your race abilities grow off of. But imagination requires knowledge which you don’t have. I will give you the knowledge and hopefully you can improve it to the point where I will seek advice from you”.

Jade changed back to his previous appearance and said “Monsters have better physiques than animals so you’ll have to study them to know what they’re good at to copy the right things. Morphing allows you to use a trait that you would not want to be permanent or you just can’t make permanent because of the other traits you have. With a bit of research I can make a device that can study the features of the genes of different creatures and present them to you. You can then select the traits you want to keep and the device will destroy the unwanted traits in the genetic material. When you fuse with it you will get a less complex gene with only the traits you need and none of the useless traits”.

Mira said “That would be nice”. Jade said “There is still a lot of work for you to do though. The device will present the traits in full detail so you will need a lot of knowledge from biology, cell biology, animal biology and other types of topics that deal with body cells and such. I have some that I’ll give you. This device is only a stop gap though. You should try to achieve the same thing by controlling the radiations you emit. Theoretically you should be able to do what the device does also if you have enough control and knowledge”.

Mira said “That’s a lot of work”. Jade said “That’s a lot of power to be acquired oh lazy Samira”. Mira harrumphed in distaste and Jade smiled and said “Let’s continue, there are still other aspects of your abilities we need to explore. What are those crystals that you use to create explosions?”

Mira said “They are diamonds, not literal diamonds since they explode. It is the result of the evolution for the Energy Burst skill”. Mira explained to Jade how the skill evolved from Energy Burst to Nova to Diamond, and the events that caused the evolutions.

Jade thought for a while before saying “Tell me about the fights you’ve had while using the skill”. Mira told Jade about her fight with the Azards up to her fight with Camille. Jade’s expression got more and more confused along the way. When she was done he said “It’s very abstract, extremely so. It even speaks to you when you listen to their intent, madness. Show me a piece of it”.

Mira made an orb of diamond and made it float toward Jade. Jade examined it for a while, gasping it surprise at certain moments. He examined it in the Astral Plane and was shocked at what he saw, he entered Mira’s soul just to verify before he said “Now that I see it I guess it makes sense that you would not be able to fully utilize it. Even I wouldn’t have been able to use its full potential before I evolved”.

Mira showed a confused expression as she said “It explodes and it talks now. What’s so special about it?”. Jade shook his head and smiled before saying “Let’s continue the spar. I’ll use magic like you asked me to, it will show you the shortcomings of how you use this skill”.

Mira nodded and dashed toward Jade, breaking through space and reappearing right where she was before she moved; she hadn’t moved an inch. She dashed normally without breaking through space but she ended up back at the exact spot where she was before. She floated forward slowly and realized that although she was floating forward for some reason she was just staying in the same place, like she was on some freaky tread mill. She created spears of diamond and used Shooting Star to blast them toward Jade but the spears didn’t move from where they were even as the energy kept bursting from the base of their poles.

Jade smiled and said “I control space. Getting close to me is impossible because I’m currently manipulating the space around you to always keep you and what you make right where you are right now, no matter what you do. It’s an easy process for me but if you try hard enough by creating millions of spears one of them might move an inch or I might be forced to move all of them slowly but it doesn’t change the fact that you are unable to do shit”.

Mira replied in frustration “It is because you are too op. No one would have a chance against me if I could control something like space”. Jade shook his head and said “You fail to see the point. Remember what I told you about how in advanced fights getting into the energy zone of your opponent is fatal?”

Mira said “I know that but your energy zone is compressed. How are you even doing this?” Jade paused in shock as he realized that it was only natural that Mira saw it from that perspective. He now had a Cosmic Energy organ which didn’t have an energy zone. His energy just naturally mixed with the energy of the planet so it seemed as if his energy zone was compressed inside his head.

Jade coughed in embarrassment at his oversight and said “That’s not the problem. The problem is that you think of your energy as a material, and in a sense it is but it is also energy. What is the best way to stay outside of someone else’s energy zone but still come close to the person?”

Mira had a look of surprise a she said “Using my own energy to cover myself!”. She merged with her diamond and her body got a crystalline texture. She tried to float forward but still ended up back to where she was. She said “Was I wrong?”

Jade said “You were right… partially. I’m controlling the space around you not the space that makes you up. I’ve shown to you before that controlling the space you occupy is tasking because so much Void is concentrated on you”.

Mira thought ‘Energy Domain, Energy Zone’. She had a new and profound understanding of what the domain was and what it could do. She expanded her domain and the air turned crystalline. She continued with this until she felt Jade’s energy blocking her from expanding within a certain range of him. She moved around in the domain without being anchored to one location; she was now free from Jade’s manipulation.

Jade said “It’s not perfect but it’s a start”.
