《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 272: Arrival 1

Night passed and the next morning arrived.
The people who wanted to attend the meeting gathered at the shore. They numbered around 70, most of the people where those who came from Dan Jun Han’s settlement in Sinpo.
Jun Han stood before the people and said “We were supposed to be more than this but we can’t cry over spilt milk”.
Jun Han turned toward the sea and blew softly. The sands were slowly dispersed and the water moved away. The color of the air began to change as space distorted. Within the distorted space one could see the image of another shore. Behind the shore were floating seats of different sizes and colors and golden towers.
…
A few minutes before midnight of the previous day, a figure wearing a hooded cloak floated above the island of Hawaii. The Island was filled with broken buildings. This was one of the places where no one survived the apocalypse. Surrounded by waters filled with monsters escape by sea was impossible. The Island also had a high amount of security so the monsters that appeared were no slouches. Flying monsters had dominated this island so when there was nothing to kill anymore they left the island empty.
A golden seed appeared in the figure’s hand. The figure flicked it toward the empty island. The seed landed with a boom as it smashed the tile floor it landed on and sunk into the ground proving that it was way heavier than it looked.
The seed didn’t stop sinking for a few minutes and when it stopped golden light burst out of it. The ground around it churned as it terraformed the island. Golden towers jutted out of the ground and seats of various sizes formed from the ground and floated into the air under the tweaked gravity. The seats formed concentric circles in the air around the island center where a circular crystal stage emerged from.

Some minutes latter creatures began to arrive either by flight or by teleportation. The creatures came in different shapes and size, though most were humanoid. When the stepped foot on the island one of the seats with an appropriate size would come down and they would seat on them.
The hooded figure stayed floating in the air while all of this happened. Hours passed as more people came and the sun began to rise. The light from the star illuminated the face of the hooded figure revealing brown skin with Indian facial features and straight black hair that was tied in a bun under the hood. The hood was made of white feathers that were not attached together by any material, they just stayed afloat in that form. It was Avatari.
She connected her mind to the feathers that were floating all around the world and she pulled down her feather hood and projected her portrait to various locations. She said “The meeting will begin in an hour. You can join at anytime but our discussions will begin in an hour”.
The screens then moved focus from her to show the various seated or arriving people. The seated people looked around wondering where Avatari had made the broadcast from. Many assumed she was in the towers some felt she was in a completely different dimension. No one noticed that she was floating right above them in the center of the seating formation.
The first person to notice was a pitch black woman with blue eyes. She entered the island through a portal along with some people. She froze the moment after that as memories of her life flooded back to her mind.
Mira remembered, the apocalypse and how she had been saved by Jade. She remembered going to the Sanctuary and living there for a while. She took her time to process these memories before seating on the seat that floated in front of her. Her eyes immediately snapped to the patch of air in the center of the seating formation.

She stared at the patch of air like it hid some secret, which it did. Mira didn’t even feel the influence the patch of air tried to have on her mind. Every attempt it made at making Mira forget and ignore it vanished and painted a clearer picture of what it was hiding.
Soon after the image of a feather cloaked woman appeared in Mira’s vision. Mira’s IP identified the person as [Rank 21 Principal Cherubim (Lucifer)] [Celestial].
The person radiated a tremendous amount of holy aura. It gave her image a touch of divinity that made you want to accept her word as law. The feathers also projected warmth that made one feel protected just by looking at them. But behind the divinity and warmth a sense of danger lurked, a cold, calculating and inhumane mercilessness that conflicted with the warmth the wings projected.
The hooded woman turned towards Mira and locked eyes with her. She smiled softly and waved at Mira. Mira was dumbfounded for a moment but she waved back soon after. Mira then diverted her attention to the people around her and noticed that they were oblivious to the person floating above them.
The next person that noticed Avatari was a man that wore a black suit with golden outlines. A golden horn grew from the center of his forehead and he had scaly skin between his eyes and cheekbone. His hair was black and curly and he had the facial features of an English man apart from his golden irises.
Beside him was an elegantly dressed Irish lady. She wore a sparkly long sleeved red gown that accentuated her curves. Her irises were reddish orange and her hair was red. What broke the elegance of her look was the fact that she was barefooted, like the horned man beside her.
The man looked up at where Avatari was for a second before waving and getting his seat. Mira noticed this interaction and realized the man had seen what she had also seen. The man turned to look at her for a moment before continuing on.
A colorful toy car, about as big as a shoe, drove out of a swirling portal after some minutes. The door of the toy car’s driver seat open and a full sized person squeezed out of the car, it was a female clown. Other individuals also squeezed out of the car; a woman in light clothing, a humanoid in a purple metal armor among others.
Space split and shifted aside revealing a portal from which a tall female demon walked out of, followed by a Chinese man in casual clothing. The moment the man’s eye landed on the clown in the distance they went bloodshot. He continued in this state for a while before he became calm and waved at Avatari. Behind him an Asian dragon and a phoenix followed.
He then looked at Mira and the horned man who were watching him from their seated positions before taking his seat.

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.
