I never knew, how it was really like to teach.

I never really knew, how it was like to preach.

I had my own ways, set in stone!

I was more used to being alone...

You came into my life, that fateful day,

Changing my life in every way.

I become more careful and worried,

About a future I now carried.

I had a responsibility, for one I must care,

In your life, I should always be there.

I can't be selfish, I must not be tense,

I must always think now with common sense.

One is dependant, when a baby,

Must try to teach, to become a lady.

One must learn rules and answer the 'why?',

More often than not, making me sigh.

Bad and good times, one needs to endure,

Yet, this experience has so much to procure.

Ups and downs, through days and weeks,

Trying to help with whatever you may seek.

I offer as much as I can give you,

I hope you can give me something too.

Work together, to be happy with smiles,

Let our love grow along in miles.

Been together now for ten years,

And both of us have gone through tears.

I love you for being a part of me,

You really do fill me with glee.

I hope we only grow stronger,

Be together, a lot longer.

Ten more years, then ten after that,

We can sit once again and have a long chat.

Happy tenth birthday little one,

Hope we continue to have fun.
