《Listonia Online》Chapter 31 - Have Faith

The group could only look on in frustration as their teammate was about to get killed. Just as the large fist was about to smash into Pixie's head, there was a flash of red and Pixie could feel a large force pull from his side as he was yanked out of the range of the attack. The large fist struck the air and he skid across the ground and landed behind the area where Gii was.
Pixie quickly got to his feet and looked over to Gii.
"If you had a move like that, you should have told me sooner!"
"I told you I have some techniques to manipulate the battlefield, plus I'm a little busy right now!"
The Golem he was fighting did not miss this opportunity and slammed it's fist into Gii's side
[-486]
Gii grit his teeth and slashed out with his sword again, this time dealing even more damage as his stats had been significantly raised with the hits he had taken.
[-928]
Although he was at less than half health currently, his damage increase was starting to rival a high tier dps class in it's output and he had reduced the health of the golem to the point where he was sure only 1 more hit would bring it crumbling. Surprised by the amount of damage that was dealt, Pixie quickly focused and threw a basic heal at Gii.
[+303]
"Thanks!"
Gii thanked him and then narrowly dodged another attack from the golem before stabbing his sword into its chest and finishing it off. Immediately the both of them ran in the direction of Queen, who had now stabilized herself and was holding her own while fending off the Golem. As she saw them running over, she shouted out in frustration.
"These things are so tanky! Their resistance is so high I can barely do anything to them!"
"Leave it to me!"
Gii jumped at the Golem and slashed out again with his sword
[-835]
Immediately the aggro of the golem switched to Gii and the pressure was taken off of queen. With the pressure now diverted, she could take on the role of using her debuffs and stepped back to use a stronger ability. The shadows at her feet began to squirm and writhe and then shot out and stabbed into the shadow of the golem. Immediately its movements slowed and became sluggish as it's fists swung wide from its targets. Not letting go of this opportunity, Gii jumped into action and unleashed a flurry of slashes that reduced the golem to nothing.
The rest of the group was able to clean up and make short work of the remaining lesser and regular golems before long and the exciting combat had ended. As the group started sifting through the newly acquired loot, Dan came up and patted Gii on the shoulder.
"Good work man! That was a close one. The remainder of the dungeon would be quite difficult if we were without another healer."

"We're going to have to switch up our strategy for the greater golems."
Queen came over and voiced her frustrations to the leader. Dan nodded at her in response.
"I agree, we can't run the risk of something like that happening again. Plus there is no telling how many more of those types of golems we will be running into."
"I think me, Fatal and Pixie should be the ones fighting the greater golems. I have enough health to tank their hits and Fatal has enough damage output to get through their resistances.
Dan listened to Gii and then spoke.
"I think that's a pretty good plan. If there are more than a couple of them then we will have to have Term attack as well. The alternative is we stop splitting up and focus them down one at a time as a group."
Sun spoke up and interjected.
"I don't like the idea of trying to focus them down because what if there are alot of lesser golems? The burden will increase on us healer's since there are only 2 of us."
"You are right, but that's why that's only a last resort plan. I don't really want to have to do that unless we have to either."
With their plan of attack set, the group gathered the remaining spoils of the fight and continued on through the dungeon. Contrary to the first part of the dungeon that was a winding maze of endless caverns, this second part was actually very straight forward. Every so often they would run into a room that would be filled with golems and would have to fight their way through to get to the next area. As they went along, they began to learn the tendencies of the greater golems and were more careful of their increased attack damage. In addition, the combination of Gii tanking and Fatal dealing the damage while pixie healed them from the back proved to be incredibly effective.
Even when they started encountering more than a couple greater golems per room, the group was able to calmly execute their roles and continue to advance. Along the way, the extra experience that was coming from the greater golems, allowed Gii to level up until he reached level 28 and finally don the last piece of equipment from the Quillan Set. The boost to wisdom that he had gotten from his equipment set and the scrolls that he used, allowed his leveling speed to really accelerate.
Eventually the group was able to make their way through the hordes of golems and into an interesting room. This room was abruptly cut off in the middle and opened up to a large rocky canyon. They could see on the other side of the canyon, opposite from where they were, there was an open area that continued onwards. However the place where it looked like a bridge used to be, was completely empty. The group walked up to the edge of the Canyon and began to inspect the surrounding areas looking for a clue to move on.

As they looked around, eventually Pixie was able to locate a plaque that was written in the same runes they had come across earlier. As he read off the translation he could tell that it's meaning was something along the lines of "Have faith".
"Could it have something to do with religion?"
Sun began to walk over to the canyon and sat on his knees while praying to his god. After about 5 minutes of his prayer, he stood up and looked around but there was not any noticeable change to the surroundings. This Time Gii knew the answer for sure, so he voiced his thoughts to the group.
"Could it mean a leap of faith?"
Dan looked at him for a moment and then walked over to the edge of the cliff and looked down into the deep abyss from which he could not see the bottom. Before he could respond, Term cut him off.
"Are you going to volunteer to jump?"
Gii only looked at him for a moment and then walked over to the edge and bent over to pick up a handful of dirt. He wound up his arm and then scattered the dirt in the air in front of him. Although most of it seemed to drift down into the darkness and get scattered to the wind, there was a small portion that remained floating in mid air about 6 feet away from the ledge. Seeing this, the group perked up and Term simply frowned and let out a "HMPH"
"You have good instincts my friend!"
Dan smiled and patted Gii on the back with a hearty slap a few times while Gii only gave a simple smile in return. He knew the only reason he had this information was because of all the players who got stumped at this location and tried everything to advance past here in his previous life. With the path forward now obvious, the group prepared to make their leaps onto the invisible bridge.
Term was the first person to make the leap. With his high agility stats, he was able to very nimbly land onto the invisible bridge that crossed the gap. He proceeded slowly but eventually inched his way across while feeling out the area in front of him. Before long he was able to completely cross the gap and reach the other side where he yelled back to the rest of them.
"It's not very wide, maybe only 5 feet or so, so keep straight."
The next one to cross was Rebel as she also had a high agility stat that allowed her to make the jump with relative ease. knowing a little more about the invisible bridge, she was able to make her way across without issue as well. Dan looked over to the remainder of the group and spoke up.
"Sun and Queen, you guys go over next. You have less agility and that heavy plate will weigh you down so I suggest putting it into your inventory until you get to the other side."
Sun and Queen nodded in acknowledgement and took off their armor before making the leap to land on the bridge. Queen was able to make the leap fairly easily as she had a little extra agility. However, sun ran into an issue because of his stout dwarf stature. As he ran up to get momentum, he wasn't able to get enough air to completely clear the gap and landed chest first into the invisible platform. His legs began dangling and he was able to barely grasp on to the invisible edge before he completely fell off. There was an air of tension before he was finally able to pull himself up and rolled over to lay on his back and catch his breath.
"Nice Save!"
Pixie shouted out and everyone let out a nervous laugh. Before he even made it to the other side, Pixie suddenly dashed out and jumped into the canyon. However he jumped to a location that would definitely miss the bridge! Before he started falling from the apex of his jump, he unfurled a set of translucent wings on his back and began floating in the air.
"Gotcha! I actually have wings, though my fly speed is incredibly slow."
As Pixie gave a playful wink to the group, they all watched with jealousy as he was able to slowly float across the large gap. Fatal made his way over next followed by Gii and then Dan. When they had finally all assembled on the other side they began to make their way down the only path that was available to them. As usual, they relied on the scouting ability of Rebel to make sure they were proceeding in the correct direction and weren't running into any traps. As they traveled, the path never deviated but did open up into a few rooms that contained golems. Like their previous fights, these groups of golems started to contain more greater golems than the earlier groups. However, with their experience in fighting them and additional levels amongst the group, they were able to make short work of them without any close calls.
After a grinding and tedious journey, the group finally made their way to a large doorway that looked like the one they used to enter the dungeon itself. All of them having experience as gamers knew that this would definitely lead to the boss room and so they immediately took a short rest and began to prepare themselves for the upcoming battle. After preparing as best they could dan turned and spoke to the group.
"Are we all ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be!"
"It's about time we got here.."
"Let's do this!"
As everyone gave their affirmations, the group pushed open the large double doors and entered into the final room of the dungeon.

The Ginsu Mage
Currently in queue: Episode 13 in progress. Set in the Aurora: Apocalypse universe.Updated every Friday. If it's not updating, I'm working on my other fictions. If nothing's updating, I ran out of whiskey. Be patient. The Gunsu Mage is a hot mess of garbage that should not be taken seriously by anyone. It’s a vaguely-GameLit spoof of Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomoni (In Another World With My Smartphone) where the MC ends up in another world and fused with his kitchen applicances, mashed up with fantasy western elements. Dungeons & Dragons meets the Wild West in an alternate high-fantasy timeline. Guns & Goblins. Cowboys & Wizards. Locomotives & Dwarves. Don’t expect great writing, accurate numbers, or common sense. Hell, don’t expect anything — just relax and let it happen.
