Infinite Ocean Ch 9
We arrived at Brock's office and saw both Rain and Jess waiting at the hall infront of his office.
"Looks like you have some things to talked about with those two. I will see you next week here in the outpost then. By the way, go to the Fried Shrimp Inn for your lodging. I know its owner and they have the best meals in town so enjoy your stay. Just show him this and he will know what's up." Brock said as he gave me a wooden badge with a shrimp engraved with golden stripes
"Thanks Brock. Where can I find you these days? I might need your help, I mean you know how rich people and stupid people acts right." I said as I look at Brock in the eye
"I know what you are talking about. There are two factions that you will need to be wary of. The World Marine Government isn't the only rulers in the Infinite Ocean. We might be strong but there are still factions that can rival us. The Magician Federation and the Immortal Faction." Brock explained seriously
"The World Marine Government can only rule the common people. However, we barely make any difference if the Magician Federation or the Immortals Faction took action." Brock continued
"And why is that?" I asked as this is new to me
"The Magician Federation is an organization which is composed with Magicians. They are skilled in the usage of mana and which sometimes can rival Devil Fruit Users. The Magician Federation's goal is to prevent and kill evil magicians." Brock said as he invite all of us inside his office
"The Immortal Faction on the other hand is the strongest but also the fewest in numbers. All the Immortals that appear in the Infinite Ocean are either a Sect Leaders or Elders. They find the Infinite Ocean great for cultivation due to the density of the Qi. However, they are already so advanced in cultivation that it doesn't matter to them anymore. They only explore for treasures which are advantagous to their cultivation. Their main goal is to advance their cultivation a step further and eradicate evil. They are sometime peaceful, but there are also Devil and Demon Cultuvators which can be considered natural disasters that can't be stopped. These Evil Cultivators are expert in the ways of slaughter and evil conducts. Provoking an Immortal is equivalent of suicide as they have many martial arts and Qi techniques." Brock explained in a clear and easy to understand way to prevent wasting time

"So we will most likely find members of the Magician Federation in the city." I stated to Brock in which he nods
"They usually carry a Magic stick or wear a robe. They are quite overbearing but they can't unleash their power in town since we are the rulers here. As much as possible stay away from them since they can be quite eccentric." Brock said as he smile bitterly
"We'll keep that in mind then. Have a good night Brock." Master said as we leave the office
It was already around 8:00 in the night and everyone is having dinner so I invited Rain and Jess for a meal. We go to the Fried Shrimp Inn and ordered our food.
"So Rain, how far is your kingdom from here?" I ask as we were waiting for our meal
"From here, it will take about two months or so depending on the wind and the speed of the ship." Rain explained
"Alright then, if my calculations are correct, we will arrive at your kingdom in about 1 month and two weeks." I mumbled as I calculated the time that I'll be staying in this city and the duration of our trip.
"Do you know where to register ships,Jess?" I asked Jess since Queen Mary 2 can't sail without proper papers to protect it.
"I believe that its located at the docks near the Marine Outpost. It should be the one with the most ship anchored if I remember correctly." Jess answered with uncertainty
Our meal arrived and we started our supper. We ordered some Crab soup and Fried Shrimp. It was delicious and you can taste the freshness if the ingredient used. it was not too amazing, but with great freshness of the seafood used it became quite the delicacy.
"That was a good meal. Too bad they don't serve liqour here. It would have been the perfect combination for such dish." Master said as he drinks some juice.

"Its very good indeed. I believe that the reason that liqour was prohibitted in this Inn is due to some drunkards starting fights inside the dining area. So if you will blame someone, blame it to those irresponsible men." I said with a bitter smile since I also think that an alcholic drink might be a match for the food. However, I respect their decision since fights might cause them huge loses if it happens alot.
"It was nice meeting you two and I might see you two in the Outpost." I said as I leave them after I escorted them to where Rain and Jess were staying.
After Sam left the two elves, they immediately go inside their houss and started a serious talk..
"Big Sis Rain, are you sure that they are the one's we should be getting help from?" Jess asked in a worried tone since the fate of their kingdom is on the line
"I don't know Jess. All I know is that we can't do anything but trust them." Rain said in a serious tone
"But why though? I mean they are just nobodies with zero background." Jess asked with a mocking tone
"They might be nobodies now, but I am sure that they are strong. I mean, you felt the pressure that Sir Sam released earlier right?" Rain asked with a bitter smile. "Not only that but Sam was close to Captain Brock who is known to hate corrupt business men. They are also very rich since they just acquired a total of 15 million Crystals." Rain said as she looks at Jess
"How I wish that thw Magician Federation would just help us." Jess said with a huge sigh
"You know their price right. They want to have full clearance from us to research and experiment with the World Tree." Rain sais with an angry tone
"I know, but what if that's the only way for us to survive." Jess argued as she remembered how the Orcs have killed and decimated many elves
"*sigh* We have this conversation before didn't we. Yes we may survive with their help, but we will risk the tradition and blessings that the World Tree have given to us Elves. We have been living under its benevolence for many years and we will just let it be disrespected by those from the Magician Federation." Rain said in a calm voice
"The Marines can't help too since this is a Political war. Sam might be the only one who can turn the tides of war. I won't be bringing our situation up if he is not rich. With money he can hire pirates to help us an with money many feats are possible. " Rain said with a hopeful voice

Nobody's Way
Foreign Thorn: Book 1 For eight centuries, the people of Isla have wanted for nothing. The Creator has chosen to favour some towns, but not others, leading to anarchy and unrest in the east, and fierce distrust between the neighbours who enjoy Her protection and those who don't. After many nights of disturbing premonitions, visions of a face uncannily familiar to her, and a voice beckoning her to "Homeland," Jian decides she needs to find answers for herself. She hires Madrigal, a surly young traveller hailing from an "unblessed" village, to take her to the southern lands. The swordsman is on the run from something, or someone, but Jian has no choice but to trust him. When the two leave the safety of the familiar and meet Quinn, a mysterious boy who seems to know more about Jian than she does about herself, it becomes clear that there are forces besides the old magics, forces completely unknown to the people of Isla, in play.
