Chapter 24 - Watch

"Yes, there are many main components in which you all need to understand. Firstly, tap your watch with your finger." Ivanic spoke as he was teaching the other about the watch. He was no longer on his bed, but standing on the hardwood floor giving instructions.

As Niko tapped the watch in front of him, the watch vibrated followed by a screen that appeared in front of him, just above the watch. On the screen, there were outlined words, a compass, and a few other things. He was taken back at how much this resembled an RPG game. Niko looked at Ivanic and asked, "Can you see it as well?"

Shaking his head Ivanic replied,"Only the owner of the watch can see it."

Niko nodded in understanding and continued to listen to Ivanic who was still speaking.

"There are four outlined words on the screen in front of you all, these words are the most important things you need to know of right now. Move your other finger and tap on the first word which is "character." After ivanic said this everyone did so.

"So cool!" Zheng expressed.

Niko released a cold breath as he was surprised by the things that followed his action. On the screen, a hologram-like replica of himself stood there looking forward without an expression, and next to it was his status and a few other pieces of information such as resistance. On the top left was an arrow that pointed towards the left and as Ivanic instructed, he pressed the arrow taking him back towards the first screen.

All of this was making Niko feel a strange feeling still. He was still unable to grasp the fact he was in a world that was so similar to the games from Earth.

Ivanic continued speaking, explaining to everyone the uses of the other words such as "Inventory" which everyone already knew about, "Social" Which allowed you to create parties, and "Map" Which showed exactly so. The interesting thing about the map was that it only revealed the parts in which were already explored. All of the other parts were pitch black as it waited to be discovered. What Niko had also learned was that these things also had shortcuts as well, like certain words that make them appear in your mind. When using it in your mind, however, you couldn't interact with it as you did with the watch.

Zheng asked as he held the shard, "By the way, Ivanic what is the point of these shards?"

Niko wasn't surprised at this question as he possessed the [Celestial Probe] skill. The normal Analysis that every player possessed was just subpar. It barely gave enough information other than the name and maybe something extra.

"This is what we like to call a Magic Shard. These shards are usually used as currency in this world and when a good amount of them is collected, they can combine to form a magical crystal capable of great things! Collecting them is extremely difficult, however, when it's all collected it's always worth it!" Ivanic responded

Niko had already come up with this conclusion as people near the eastern gate were trading items for these shards.

Ivanic went back towards his bed and said, "There are a few other uses for the watch, however, some things are unlocked after you level to a certain level."

"Let's go fight monsters now guys!" Candreva said with excitement once again. He was like a child that needed to be monitored on everything he did, otherwise, he would do something stupid. Niko already felt like this guy would be a pain to handle later on.

"We shouldn't try to fight monsters as of right now and instead we should come up with strategies to fight against them and learn more about our own capabilities." Niko disagreed as he suggested something else.

Hearing this Ivanic nodded, "Indeed. We need to learn each other's way of fighting so that we can be more fluid when fighting monsters and minimize the risks. Firstly I will take you outside of the eastern gate. It's an unranked forested area with peace and quiet. Although people go out there to train as well, it's a big forest which allows everyone to have their own private space and train in peace. We can start there and then I will take you guys to other places to become stronger. How fast we are to level will solely depend on our fluidity and effectiveness together."

This was also another thing that made Ivanic so valuable. He knew spots to train and gain experience, as to him this was almost a second run in a game. He had a chance to start all over again, and this experience was something that Niko wanted to exploit it.

Every human in this world had a goal, either it is getting stronger to rule this new world, finding loved ones, or returning to where they came from. Other than a goal, many of these people had another thing in common and that was to work hard to achieve that goal, and that was what Niko was prepared to do to reach his goal.
