《Chosen by the Laws》Chapter 12 The Sentient System

The Final 10 minutes of Diamon's drawn-out wait for the Tutorial to end had been arduous. Fortunately, he felt that his preparations would be enough for the storm which was about to come, knowing that he had gained an advantage over the others about to descend on the planet was reassuring, and he had vowed to never relax and lose his lead. Finally, the time was up, the world had once more turned white.
His last memory of this vast white land still filled Daimon with a palpable amount of discomfort, however, his mind could now handle it. A scant few seconds passed before the System spoke in its monotonous voice.
"Welcome to your new world denizens of the land, you have all been made aware of what this entails during the tutorial, however you do not know why this is happening. I will begin by introducing myself: I am The Ruling System, eons ago I subconsciously created the beings known as Laws, who in turn created this universe, unfortunately, I also inadvertently created the law of Chaos which seeks to destroy the universe and in turn you. Forced into a corner by Chaos who stole a part of my power the Laws did the only thing they could, which was to force their accumulated power back into me, which led to my sentience."
"After accumulating and accounting for all of the variables I came to a conclusion, what we need to destroy Chaos, is all of you, I have granted all of the universe denizens the ability to gain tremendous power, I hope that one our more of you, become strong enough to stop Chaos once and for all."
By now Daimon was beginning to realize how dangerous the situation had become, he knew that it wasn't going to be all fun and games, hell it hadn't been so far. knowing what the next few weeks would be like for the new arrivals considering he had already been through it was hard for him to fathom, never mind the implications of what the system just said. Feeling like he was a pawn in a grand game also didn't do anything to elevate his mood. Not caring about his plight the system continued its speech.
"Unfortunately the path to power is never easy, wars will be fought, lives lost, and danger will lurk around every corner, if this is not the path for you, I have created professions to keep you busy and make others stronger, some if strong enough may find this as a path to power as well."

"Your new planet (Unnamed) now houses hundreds of lifeforms and is an amalgamation of four separate worlds. The scale of the planet is huge. One superior race from each of the four planets has been selected by me to have a competition of a sort on this world. One race shall win and one individual shall be selected from that race to represent the planet as its Emperor."
"Throughout the next two years, there shall be 3 competitions, the first of which will be the World Tower. Raised in the center of the planet the world tower contains 100 floors, each floor has been created to test those who enter, either as a group or individually. Anyone level 25 and above can enter, and the person who climbs the highest within the tower will gain a great boon for their race, each floor completed will also grant benefits to those who manage to pass. The chance of dying within is extremely high if one is not careful. The duration of the first challenge will be one year and time within the tower will pass at a reduced speed, two day within the tower will equate to one day outside."
"How the hell do I find this tower, I'm in the middle of nowhere," thought Daimon. Almost as if the System had heard him it answered the unasked questions.
"A teleportation option will be granted to those who hit level 25 which will bring you within 20km of the tower, the final journey there is a challenge itself, think of it as a right of passage."
"You will now all be placed within your new world the planet has been divided in 4, each race will occupy the area which encompassed their old planet to make the change straight forwards, be warned, dangerous beasts empowered by the ambient mana within your planet now roam the land, many lives will be lost defeating the beasts however many rewards can be gained. Good luck to you all and remember what you have learned during the Tutorial it should be helpful depending on your choices. Before I send you off, each of you has the opportunity to ask one question which I shall answer to the best of my ability."
"Taking a few moments to absorb all of the information which he had been bombarded with and taking the time to memorize every little detail Damion began to think about what question he would ask, sorting through the information he had learned he realized that power once more was the key, surely the question should be how do I get stronger? Was that too general of a question though? The System could simply reply, kill stuff, and level up. No, he could not waste this opportunity it had to be a specific question, after thinking long and hard he finally spoke to the System.

" How can I improve my understanding of laws and learn new ones?"
"Ahh the anomaly, I hope to see great things from you in the future young one, to answer your question properly would take me days. It involves too much information, to answer it simply there are a few different ways. I will explain a few to you. The laws can be granted to you by me for accomplishing major feats: you may come into proximity to a Law and study it for example: stand in front of a natural source of the Law and sense the essence of the Law held within, you have already done something similar with the wind law, there are also certain items scattered around which may also help. There are a few other ways but you will have to figure that out for yourself."
"Ok thank you System, do you have a proper name?"
The Ruling System was stunned, silences descended, out of all the questions it had prepared to answer, this one was never on its list, it had never considered itself as anything more than a power source and Daimon had just somewhat shattered that belief.
"I said one question each, it stammered."
Sensing something weird Daimon pressed no further silence once more descended only to be broken by the system.
"Daimon I have been watching you and have been impressed so far, so I will disclose some information to you, I now only control slightly more than half of this universe, Chaos controls the rest, what I hope to accomplish from this endeavor is an army capable of stopping Chaos, and from your history, you should understand that every army needs generals, so far you are showing promise so take this skill before you go."
Level 1 Command skill granted Rarity Epic Able to command troops in battle, 1 perk selection granted.
Access to command interface granted.
I also expect Chaos to do something similar and build armies, now go forth and show me what you can do.
With that Daimon was transported out of the world of white and once more found himself sitting upon the cliff ledge where he had been beforehand. Albert was sitting by his side patiently waiting for Daimon to speak.
"That was a lot of information to take in" sighed Daimon.
I know, I heard all of it, especially the last bit, you must have impressed the big guy to receive information like that" replied Albert.
Where do we go from here though Albert, obviously my main focus should be hitting level 25 and entering the world tower, the human race right now is the most important thing winning means becoming stronger as a whole. I need to win that boon, but how do I accomplish it. Also judging from what the system said it mainly needs commanders which means leveling my command skill will be important, but what the hell is Chaos".
Unfortunately Daimon that information has to be earned I can not speak of it. I'm sorry this has inadvertently placed a great deal of pressure on you, don't let it affect your progress though keep doing what you have been doing and things will work themselves out" said Albert in a caring tone of voice.
"Thanks, Albert I needed that: Ok time to come up with a plan, I need to go through my notifications, make a plan of action, gain strength and find my family."
and so Daimon entered his mindspace, the choices he made that day would affect the entire universe.
At the base of the mountain in a small village, Thousands of lifeforms had appeared. Alveron Starborn found himself standing amongst his race, which has previously ostracized and banished him for his beliefs.
