Armoured men barged into the room while Master was urinating in the bathroom next door. I was laying on the bed, unmoving and covered in filth. When I glanced at them, I noticed the symbol of the royal guards on their breastplate. Master came in a bit later with an angry expression, most likely due to the fact that he could not talk back to them, unless he wanted to die for treason. An armoured man, probably the captain or something, walked up to him and then punched him in the face. Master just stared at the ground while he clenched his teeth and brought a hand on his wounded cheek.
The captain just turned around and addressed two of his soldiers
"Clean the girl, find her some clothes and catch up with us outside. Don't make me wait."
One of the two men came toward me and then lifted me up in a princess-carry manner, bringing me to the toilet where the other man had started preparing the necessary things to bath me. Afterwards when one started drying me up, the second went to find me clothes. It didn't take us long to regroup with the other royal guards. My clothes were and felt different, they weren't rags but they still weren't anything too fancy. I was made to board one of the royal carriages.
They took me away from Master all the while giving me looks of pity. I wondered if it was for what had happened to me until now or for what would happen to me now. I intently hoped not both. On the carriage there was me, the captain and another guy. He probably had a rank higher than the soldiers outside but still lower than the captain, but my knowledge is pretty limited so I didn't know the name of his position. Later, we arrived at the royal palace and I was escorted inside.
I was given a room, it was around half of Master's room, which was still pretty spacious. This, was extremely suspicious. When I was alone, I started looking around the room, trying to memorize everything and maybe to find a way to escape. The Queen wasn't a person known for her kindness, else she'd have abolished slavery. Maybe. I don't know much about politics. During the following next few days, various things happened. First, I was given three guards/escorts/servants which also brought me food when I was hungry. Second, I was not allowed to go outside, nor to enter some rooms and neither to know why I was in the palace. Third, I had thought about spending my time in the library I had found in the palace, but since I didn't know how to read I was troubled. Thus, I asked around if someone was willing to teach me, and always got the same response

"There is no need for you to learn."
Suspicious. Suspicious. Suspicious. I grew more worried with each passing day, that is why today I tried to escape. Apparently, the third guard, which never stayed with the other two in front of the door, was guarding the escape route I had planned to use. I was caught and bound with chains in my room. The chains felt familiar, but I was more intent on listening to the guards' words. That night, I finally knew why I was here. I was here because of a petty reason:
Some guy named 'Immortal' payed a visit to the Queen two days before she called for the nobles, he requested for a woman, a slave, pure or not didn't matter. Now, why would she choose me when anyone could do? That's because I was the favorite toy of the man she despised.
I scoffed at my luck as they guards continued to tell me that in a week's time Immortal would come back to fetch me. In the end, I'm just changing Master. I felt so battered and tired I didn't even have the force to curse my fate. I needed the entire next day to let those facts sink in. Now more than ever, freedom seemed unattainable and I considered ending my life. I began biting my tongue off, but the gradually growing pain overrode my intentions and I stopped. It seemed like even this freedom of mine had been taken away.
Nothing relevant happened after that. On the seventh morning after my attempted escape, I was escorted to the throne room. It'd be the first and last time I set foot there. The experience filled me with conflicting feelings, joy and anger were constantly fighting for control. Inside was really spacious, a golden throne was at the center of the end of the room, right in front of me. Two wooden stands were on each side of the room, big enough to accommodate all the nobles, decorated with carvings, drapes and fancy red pillows.
The Queen looked slightly displeased when I observed her features. She had waist-long white hair, a purplish skin, red eyes, pointy ears, black horns that went backwards, big breasts and an healthy looking hip. She looked to be around 20 but was much older. She was half-elf and half-demon, which one I didn't know. Immortal instead was a normal dark elf, dark-brown skin, grey hair, a stoic face without beard and deep blue eyes. He wore black armor covered by light-brown clothes and adorned by a golden cape with a white "4" inclined to the left intertwined with a black snake that was eating itself, forming a ∞.

After I was handed over to him, the Queen and Vael (his real name, I found out "Immortal" was just a title) exchanged pleasantries for a bit before Master Vael and I went away. It had been years since I had last set foot outside Sakki. We walked south for three days before we reached an outpost made out of stone and some wood. Master Vael and I rarely stopped during the trip and not once did we talk to each other, though he did talk to himself from time to time when he brought a hand near one of his ears. After he did that a few times I wondered if he was using magic to converse with some companion of his.
From the outside, the outpost was one third of Sakki's royal palace, but once I was inside I reconsidered my first impression. We went at least five floors underground, and each floor was pretty spacious, even with all the people walking around. None seemed to acknowledge my presence, but everyone bowed to Master Vael. Probably, they were all his subjects. I was brought in front of a bathroom and Master spoke to me for the first time
"Go relieve yourself."
I did as ordered and once I was done he brought me to a cellar. He opened the door after he made a keychain full of key appear out of nowhere, Master Vael looked at me with a bored expression
"Enter, I'll come back later."
And like he said, he came back some hours after that. It was difficult to tell the time, but I supposed it was evening/night. This time we went up, up on the outpost's roof. Columns which supported nothing formed a circle with an altar on the center, five hooded people with white robes stood on five points all connected. I trembled as I was dragged and made to lie on the altar. I looked at Master Vael with pleading eyes, I tried to talk to him, to reason with one of the white robed people, to beg forgiveness, to ask for a chance.
Master Vael completely ignored me as he spoke foreign words after he denuded me. When he raised his hands above his head, I could see a dagger. When I tried to run, I discovered I was unable to move a single muscle. The dagger entered my stomach, and I could feel my warm blood leak. Something escapes my mouth but I'm too concerned about the dagger that is slowly moving toward my head, cutting me open. Blood was descending from my abdomen and chest, slowly wetting my sides and then my back, as it sneakily moved on the stone altar's natural curves and cavities to get underneath me.
I felt Master Vael's hands churn up my intestines, bringing out my uterus. Even if he did all that, nothing was actually removed or damaged, probably to keep me alive longer. He once again brought out his dagger and slightly opened my organ. I felt some pain but the waning of my life was fare stronger. He put some white worm-like creature inside and put my uterus back in me. Master Vael then took a few struggling black insects and inserted them in various parts of my body. I coughed blood as I felt those creatures walk about inside me.
I could clearly feel each of their steps because every single one cause me great pain. As one neared my uterus, the white worm shook. It rushed out, tearing open my reproductive organ and every else that was on its way to the insect. A chilling cold enveloped my body. Once the worm reached its prey I could feel it rampage as it ate every last bit of it, including a speck of my own intestines. Just as I felt it rush somewhere else, I blacked out. Every single emotion in me disappeared, all my senses stopped working and I felt so tired I began to fell asleep. Before completely falling asleep, a thought entered my mind..
'I'm finally free..'
Reality is cruel..
More on why OM's leader did all of this in volume 5, probably.

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)

Just power through it or encorage me to put up a second draft). It can be found here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/21654/the-crimson-mage/chapter/307763/chapter-1
