《Magical Cosmic》Chapter 43: Occupation of The Brightmoon City

Upon gazing at the captured wall of the Brightmoon City from the window of the spaceship, I smirked in pride. Not a minute went by for the robots to capture the sloppily guarded medieval wall. All sides of the wall had been secured unnoticed by the inhabitants.
Heh… Since I can do an element of surprise with invisible mode, why would I openly show myself? Although the invisible mode was just simply reflecting light that was behind the object, it worked perfectly when facing backward medieval soldiers.
While still in pride, I turned towards Brown at the side and said, “The wall of the Brightmoon City has been captured. Brown, what places do you think should be taken first?”
Shock couldn’t be hidden on Brown’s face as he heard that. “As expected of milord, capturing the wall so swiftly. For the crucial places of the city, it should be the city hall and the lord’s mansion,” suggested Brown in a subservient tone.
“City hall and the lord’s mansion?” Turning my head to the 3D holo-map of the city, I found where the two places were located.
After some considerations, I ordered the robots to occupy them. Them walking on the city unnoticed was just like a walk in the park with invisible mode on. How amusing… If it wasn't for this city was just a medieval city without advanced equipment; the robots would have been caught in the act the moment they set foot in a sophisticated city.
Advanced equipment would be able to detect them easily. On top of that, it would be deactivated the instant something hit them quite hard. The sounds that they’re making also cannot be damped effectively.
Just when I sighed for the shortcomings of the invisible mode, something came across my mind. Hmm…? Now that I think about it, aren’t the invisible beetles able to solve those shortcomings very well? After all, only the Universal Measurement Device is capable to detect them.
Suddenly, ATHENA’s cheerful report broke my train of thought apart, [Master~! The targets have been fully seized and the two buildings inhabitants have been captured. What should be our next course of action?]
“Place them into secure rooms and get some of the robots to guard the places!” Since my helmet was on, Brown and Lillie couldn't hear our conversation. Thus, I turned towards them and asked, “Brown, I have captured the city hall. Could you make them swear allegiance to me?”

“Yes! Leave this endeavor to me, milord.” Brown had his right arm on his chest while his left on his back before bowing slightly.
“As for you Lillie, would you like to stay in the ship or—”
"Let Lillie follow Victor; Lillie can show Victor all the important places in the mansion," interjected Lillie with a determined look.
“Fine then.” I nodded before we got into the teleporter and had ourselves teleported to the ground, not before taking some trackers with me. Following that, the hateful feeling of weightlessness pervaded me and my vision went blurry.
When I opened my eyes, the sight of a Victorian-style mansion filled my field of view. Iron fences and a gate were surrounding the mansion. The teleporter itself had a range of 1km; thereby, capable to teleport us right to the entrance of the mansion. Strangely enough, there weren’t any guards guarding the place. Only just a dozen or so robots wearing a strange badge on their chest. Well, to be in invisible mode, the robots need an invisible badge to do so.
In an instant when I was about to advance, Lillie ran towards the gate of the mansion in a hurry. Confused, I approached her and saw that there was a look of longing and a mixture of emotions forming on her face. Feeling pity for her, I rubbed her head and said, “There’s no need to be so agitated, it won’t go anywhere. Let’s just get inside.”
“Uh-huh.” She nodded.
Subsequently, we went through the front garden of the mansion before stopping in front of the 2 and a half meters tall double doors. I had my hands pushed the doors to open them before a quite luxuriously decorated 200 square meters hall entered my eyesight.
The hall was dim and empty of servants or guards, making the hall giving a feeling of eeriness. Err… from what ATHENA had reported before, it seems that the robots only found his wife and didn’t discover his son. Maybe his son is somewhere else? I don’t know.
We then went through the hall with Lillie leading the way. She had a melancholy look on her face when she looked around the mansion. For some unknown reason, Lillie halted as she gazed at a family painting in the corner wall of a secluded parlor. There were three people in the drawing, one was a handsome man with gray hair, another was white-haired pretty woman, and the last was a pure and innocent little girl with the same hair as the woman. They had a happy smile as if nothing bad ever happened in their life.

Worried for the unmoving Lillie, I tried to soothe, “There’s no need to be sad. I’m here.”
"Hm-hm… Lillie isn't sad." She shook her head in fortitude and somehow, I could feel that she became matured a little.
Weird, how come that a painting of Lillie’s family was still here? After all, the lord's position had changed hands to Andrei, so it didn’t make sense for it not to be taken down. Guess, this part of the mansion was secluded, must have been neglected.
After staring at the painting for a couple of minutes, Lillie looked at me and said, “Lillie will bring Victor to the treasury.” Wait, do I look like someone that seeks money?
Before long, we reached a more secluded area in the mansion. As there wasn’t any window in here and the candles were all burnt out, it was dim all over. Luckily, there were portable lights on my suit, so I was able to see around the place without bumping into anything.
Lillie suddenly stopped in front of a big metallic door before turned to me and said, “Here is the treasury… Lillie didn’t have the key though.” Seriously? Well, it doesn’t matter.
Without further ado, I stepped forward before taking out the Multi-Tool from my dimensional storage. I changed the mode of the Multi-Tool before pressing the trigger. White light came out and enveloped the metal door before it vanished a few seconds later and left a perfect gap.
Fortunately, other than constructing, repairing, and storing building materials, the Multi-Tool is also able to deconstruct a structure. After all, if it can only construct, it will be very inconvenient.
When we got in, I noticed that the treasury was sparsely filled. The mountains of gold and jewelry that I had been expecting before were nowhere to be seen. What could be seen was a few dozen golds here and there and some ornaments that people wouldn't want.
“E-eh… Where’s all the gold coins go?” Not believing the condition of the treasury, Lillie nervously trembled. She moved towards the pedestal at the center of the treasury, however, before taking a leather-cased book on top of it.
“V-Victor… this is all that was worth on the treasury...” She handed me the book with glossy eyes. Huh? What’s wrong with her?
I looked at the book and realized that it was a knight breathing technique. On the cover was written “The Bright Moonlight Knight Breathing Technique”. It was the knight technique of the Brightmoon family — the family’s foundation.
Curious by the content, I raised my eyebrows and scanned through the book only to find that it was complete and able to promote someone to a real knight. This… unlike the Razel Knighthood Knight Breathing Technique that seemed to be used widely, it was very exclusive even if it wasn’t as strong.
Excited by this, I shouted aloud, “Lillie! This is—”
“Hikk!!” She shrieked and swiftly cling to me before begging in a soft tone, “Please…. Don’t leave Lillie alone… Lillie didn’t have anyone else… Lillie doesn't want to be alone again…”
I was bewildered by the sudden statement of her and questioned, “Wait wait wait!! What are you talking about, Lillie?”
“Lillie couldn’t repay Victor’s kindness… Lillie is scared to lose anyone else…” She downcast her eyes to the ground, quivering.
Ah… so this is what’s on her mind all along. She’s scared that I’ll leave her after she loses her value. What a simple-minded little girl… No… she’s just too pure and innocent, I guess.
In response, I rubbed her head and promised, “I promised you a lifetime of peace and happiness. I'll never abandon nor let anyone hurt you. If you want to repay me that much, just do the same to me.”
“Really?” She stared at me with a puppy gaze.
“Yes, I promise.”
“Then Lillie will stay with Victor forever.” She cutely smiled at me and seemed to be relieved by my answer. Although the second part of her answer made me frowned, I decided to just ignore it.
“Ahem. Anyway… I need to gather more information, so can you show me where the library?”
“Yes! Leave it to Lillie.” She smiled at me with pride before leading the way.
Upon finding that she came back to be cheerful, I smiled and followed her soon after.
