《Magical Cosmic》Chapter 48: Getting Revenge on The Space Pirates

Graham’s Perspective
Near the wormhole full of Golden Stardust, inside of an under-construction asteroid space station, space-pirates were chattering full of enthusiasm and greed. They were partying like there was no tomorrow, drinking liquor and playing with few beauties on their hands.
In the middle of all that, was the one-eyed Graham sitting on a metal throne above the pedestal with two enchanting beauties beside him. Although the two beauties had a beauty unrivaled by anyone below, Graham didn’t show much interest in them. He just smiled sinisterly while hearing what his subordinates just reported.
Heh… now I had the life of a successful pirate, expanding my influence over and over with the Golden Stardust. Thanks to that brat Victor for giving me this endless treasure… Graham thought with his smile that was about to burst into laughter.
“Boss, the construction of the space station had reached 80% completion. Should we begin killing the captives engineer now?” An official henchman wearing a black suit enquired while checking the holo-list.
“No need. Let them finish the construction, I’ll execute them myself. Jiahaha… they still believe that their family’s still alive… It’s a shame that I cannot savor more of their begging to be killed.” Graham grinned, ignoring the two seducing beauties beside him.
The official henchman flinched as he recalled what happened to the engineers’ family members. It was obvious that they had horrible suffering before dying miserably.
Tap! Tap! Tap!
“Boss!!”
A voice of a rushing henchman came from outside as he swiftly entered the hall. He took a deep breath and reported, “B-Boss, we lost contact with the patrol ships near the wormhole!”
“What?!” Graham burst out with a murderous aura that might cause anyone a nightmare for days. “Ready all the ships on the station to intercept the enemy!”
““Yes!”” All the henchmen swiftly got out of the room to do his bidding.
“What are you two bitches still waiting for? Scram!” Graham kicked out the two beauties with his feet.
““Y-yes!””
After being left alone in the hall, Graham sat back down on his throne. This is weird, how come an enemy appeared from near the wormhole? Unless if it was someone that had prepared…. No, is it… Victor? Impossible!
When that thought came across his mind, Graham stood up and descended the pedestal. Unpleasant feeling cropped up inside and led him to the armory. He donned his black colored Exo Suit which covered his whole body, took his plasma cannon, and then went back to the main hall.

“In any case, whether it’s Victor or anyone else. I will have them crushed in despair and torture them until they beg to be killed. I can’t wait to see their hopeless expression. Jiahahaha…” Graham chuckled, looking ready to face what to come from his throne.
[Host. We have taken control of the enemy's spaceship.]
“As expected of an improved A.I. Now, taking control of the enemy's simple A.I. is just a matter of connecting and hack. Especially pirate’s spaceship which was technologically backward.” Amused by this fact, I looked at the dozen or so Warrior Robot that I had brought with me.
“Well then, since it seems that their sensor isn’t able to detect my spaceship, it’s time to kill Graham. ATA, direct the ship to their space station!”
[As you command.]
Before long, I could see a space station constructed inside a kilometer big asteroid. It was tightly guarded by dozens of random-sized spaceships. Setting up a space station inside one had been a common thing for pirates and small private companies. Not only it was cheaper, but it also easier to make.
By now, despite the fact that I'm making sure to not give any information about hacking their ships, they must have some suspicions. After all, ATA could only hack one by one of their ships. The moment one was hacked, the other would intercept.
Guess, this leaves me no choice but to create confusion between them and slip straight to their space station…
The Official Henchman’s Perspective
Inside the control room of the asteroid space station. Numerous operators were busily managing and calculating the plan to intercept their unknown enemy. All of this was led by the official henchman that was standing above the platform in the middle.
“Sir, all the ships have gathered. They all are aiming their weapons to the direction of the wormhole.”
“Good. But be cautious! The abrupt loss of contact with the patrol ships is too mysterious.”
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Unexpectedly, dozens of explosions shook all the pirate spaceships. Although it didn’t hit them directly, it stirred up a panic.
“What just happened?”
“S-Sir… we detect a dozen lost contact patrol ships coming from the wormhole direction and are all attacking us,” answered the operator with a shaken voice.
“Why are they attacking us? In any case, we had a major advantage over numbers and weapons. Attack them!"

“Yes!”
With all said, the pirate spaceships launched their myriad of weapons onto their enemies — the patrol spaceships. As they had a quantity advantage, the enemy could only meekly defend in response. Unbeknownst to them, an invisible ship not detected by sensor passed through them.
“Sir, we’ve lost contact with some of our ships and it keeps increasing. Now, they all begin attacking us!”
“Shit! Are you messing with me? How is that possible?!” The official henchman grew horrified but later calmed down and ordered, “Call all the spaceships to go back to the space station! We need to regroup!”
“We cannot, sir! We had lost contact with all the ships… No… something or someone had hacked the spaceships and now the space station’s A.I. was having a breakdown.” The operator shrieked and his face grew pale.
“Wait, if the space station was hacked then… we’re no different than dead!”
Not even a second passed, the automatic door behind them was locked, the system was shut down, and the air was sucked out. Luckily for them, they were wearing a suit so they could still breath. They still had tools to open the door, but despite that, it would take some time and make them no different than a sitting duck.
I entered the asteroid space station with a leisurely pace, bringing along a dozen of Warrior Robots. ATA had taken control of the system — with A.I. enhancement, thus I didn't have to worry about any pirates and layout of the base. They were all locked and even if they came, the Warrior Robots would use their neurotoxin rifles to paralyze them. This weapon had been specially made to penetrate the suit that couldn't be done with a simple high voltage rifle. Sadly, it was hard to make them since the basic material was scarce.
I swiftly passed through the corridor after taking out the pirates in the way and went straight to the main hall of the station. Before going inside, I activated my Changeable Exo Suit's ability to go invisible. Indeed, it had been layered with the carcass of the invisible beetle. As for the robots, however, they didn't follow me to go invisible since the automatic door would alert the enemy inside anyway.
When the frontmost robot opened the door, I could see an expansive hall that could fit thousands of people easily. Strangely, no one was inside except a large man fully covered with Exo Suit sitting on the throne above a pedestal. He must be Graham, right?
“Robots? No wonder…” He stood up and grabbed his plasma cannon at the side, aiming it to the robots. It began to charge and about to fire.
Seeing that, a bad premonition cropped up inside me. I swiftly controlled the robots to spread out inside while I backed away.
Boom! Bang!
Despite my fast reaction, two of the robots got hit and blasted into smithereens before being able to cast their shields. Leaving nothing behind except some dust and ash. A cold shiver ran down my spine upon witnessing that. Yep, would have died if I was the one that got hit just now.
Changing the robots’ rifle into pulse rifles, they instantly began firing. Shock emerged on Graham's eyes as his shield was destroyed, and he could only use his plasma cannon to block the remaining bullets. Consequently, destroying his plasma cannon.
“Very quick! What kind of robots are you?” Graham smirked unperturbed simultaneously threw out a bluish grenade to the robots.
Bang!
The grenade exploded and a wave of a blinding bluish explosion spread out, it got into the robots — including me. Half a second later, the robots started dropping to the ground and unable to move.
[Oh no, Master! It’s an EMP grena#### Error!] ATHENA’s last words made me realize that the invisible ability of Exo Suit started to fade out. Oh, shoot! What kind of EMP did he just used? Normal EMP isn’t capable to penetrate advanced resistors.
“Huh? A black mysterious man with an… Exo Suit? Who are you?” Graham stared at me in murderous glare and continued, “Anyway, I’ll skin you alive and cut you into pieces for what you’ve done!”
He took out a plasma rifle from his dimensional storage and began firing. Not wanting to get hit, I quickly tried to activate my shield and booster, only to find that just the booster could work. Luckily, I managed to dodge the plasma bullets to the side and fired my pulse rifle in return.

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
