Chapter 18 - Enraged Yu Jingli!!
Yu Xiuying narrowed her eyes at the newly appeared middle-aged man. It was known across all major worlds that the Frigid Enigma Continent was completely owned by her, the Yu Family Matriarch. Nobody in the world that she resided in would dare let out a fart anywhere near her land, and all would kowtow in respect whenever they saw her. For somebody to just go and rip a huge rift in space in front of HER home was a huge disrespect and just plain rude, especially since he was doing it right in front of her.
It was true that many superpowers across the worlds had been invited to the Yu Family palace to take part in the festivities before Yu Xue’s coronation, only to be disturbed by the summons from the five star sects. All the sect leaders and [Solid Soul] experts staying at the palace had begrudgingly left the disciples of their sects behind in the Yu Family’s care to attend the then pressingly important “meeting”. It was only natural for these individuals to return to the Yu Family palace after the “meeting” to continue the festivities.
However, Evergreen wasn’t the Yu family palace. For a guest to leave the quarters prepared for them and to roam another superpower’s territory without permission was ill-mannered if not hostile. Yu Xiuying prepared herself to beat this intruder into submission. However, when the middle-aged man left the special rift and she saw the insignia of the Adamantine clan, she couldn't help but click her tongue.
"Tch!"
Truth be told, she knew who this man was. His name was Cedric Adamantine and was one of the four "Iron Pillars" of the Adamantine clan. He was renowned for his supreme skill in using the defensive metal element techniques of their faction. The skill he used wasn't the legendary [Myriad Blades of the Endless Night] that their clan was so famous for, but instead was rather a more obscure and much less popular Daoist magic called [Aegis of the Eternal]! The abilities he used were beside the point, which was that he had intruded on her territory! It didn't matter that he was an early stage [Solid Soul] cultivator with unlimited strength, such a thing was unacceptable!
"May I know what owes us the pleasure of seeing you here, Cedric Adamantine!"
Just because the man was rude in his actions did not however mean that she could start a fight straight off the bat. Not with a [Solid Soul] cultivator anyway. This guy was one of the most valued members of the Adamantine clan after all, and his cultivation base was a realm higher than hers! It would be best to demand an explanation before pursuing further action.
The man startled upon seeing her, clearly not expecting to have any company. His stupor didn't even last half a second as he furrowed his brows immediately after.
"Yu Family Matriarch Xiuying it is a deep surprise for me to see you here!"
He didn't answer her question and instead raised his guard, a somewhat hostile gesture. Yu Jingli who was currently interrogating the spectre saw this and obviously wouldn't take his actions standing down.
"Surprise my ass! Who else were you going to find after barging into our home! Now SCRAM before I raise my hand!!"

Cedric raised an eyebrow at her threat. If it were Yu Xiuying that had the Vindicator’s Rod in hand who had said these words, he would have taken her seriously. But Yu Jingli? The woman was a [Shattered Soul] cultivator. [Shattered Soul] cultivators could only recover soul energy using special means, so obviously this woman wasn’t any match for him! If she really raised her hand against him, she would be the one sent flying! He decided to reveal his business anyway as there wasn't much harm doing so.
"I wouldn't speak to me that way if I were you. After all, I'm acting on behalf of the five star sects right now!"
Yu Jingli scoffed at his words.
"Impossible! Why would the star sects ask a brick-head like you to act on their behalf! If you're going to spew crap at least make it believable!"
He smirked at her and spoke in a patronising tone.
“Well to be honest, they didn’t ask me to do anything. It’s more like I’m acting in their best interest.”
“So they wouldn’t complain if I roughed you up a little then” Yu Jingli said whilst cracking her knuckles.
"Oh?!” Cedric exclaimed. “What if I told you that the blade princess has gone missing, and this place was where she was last seen?"
Yu Jingli shut up after hearing that. Rightly so as well. Yu Xiuying knew as soon as the blade princess was mentioned that the severity of the situation has increased by a level, or two or three. Remembering what the wraith had said before, Yu Yin had teleported to some unknown location with another individual who know seems to be the Blade Princess. Also considering that Yu Yin had the Silver Qilin horns with him…
‘#@!?!”
Yu Xiuying cursed under her breath. It wasn’t just a few levels any more, the situation was now freaking code black.
Cedric saw Yu Xiuying’s grave expression and continued speaking.
"You should know what kind of attitude the five great sects have towards the precious pearl of the Adamantine clan.” He said. “They would very deeply upset upon hearing of her disappearance, distraught perhaps. If anyone is going to scram, it should be you Yu Jingli! Else imagine how those old monsters would react with your obstruction of my investigation."
"You!!"
"DO NOT interfere with my searching of the blade princess, unless...."
He let out a sinister grin.
"Perhaps it was the Yu family that kidnapped the beloved Qilin daughter of the Adamantine clan?"
"ENOUGH!"
Things had reached a point that Yu Jingli could no longer tolerate!
"You dare act so unbridled in our turf! You're truly seeking death!"
She shot towards in the sky, emitting an icy blue soul power from throughout her body. It condensed into a large snowflake which shot towards him at a shocking speed! Yu Xiuying widened her eyes.
“Mother! DON’T…” Yu Xiuying began to exclaim.
However, she was too late. Yu Jingli had already made her move.
"[Frigid Cryosphere]!"
A glacial wind swept through the air, freezing over all the trees within a 5 kilometre radius. Their once vibrant green leaves transforming into pale turquoise crystal knives! Cedric let out a chuckle as he glanced at the snowflake which was threatening to slice him into two! He raised his hand to deflect it with a slap, but as he was about to do so, his body suddenly felt incredibly sluggish as if he was submerged in water. He looked down in a panic to find his body was submerged in a murky white light! This was the work of the 2 Crystal Corps that he came with Yu Xiuying. Left with no choice, Cedric activated his own soul power!

"[Calamity Shield]!"
A crimson red barrier appeared in front of him, glowing with a metallic sheen and safeguarding him from Yu Jingli's attack. The snowflake crashed into the barrier, shattering into thousands of tiny shards which threatened to kill him by a thousand cuts! They wouldn't get their way though as Cedric's shield exploded into a fiery mist, evaporating the fragments of ice into thin air! He furrowed his brow at the close call.
"I should have known that you would have brought your dogs here with you..."
He waved his hand, causing a piece of jade to appear which he immediately crushed. This piece of jade was indeed an engraved runic spell, but not a teleportation one, but rather, contained a runic spell called [Energy Dispersion]! As soon as he crushed it, a shock-wave engulfed the area, causing two runerings to appear from nowhere. They shattered as soon as they appeared, revealing two white-haired men. The men coughed up blood from having their concealment spells destroyed and passed out on the ground. Surprisingly, these were the members of the Crystal Corps that had followed the pair of women to Evergreen earlier! Two [Level 3] Yu Family Carriers had been defeated just like that! Cedric let out a smirk.
"Let's see you try and ambush me again!"
Cedric raised his hand to tap his glabella causing ripples of soul power to disperse from his body. They reformed to form a large steel shield covered in golden characters and patterns of every kind. Yu Xiuying knew what he had just done. Cedric had just pulled out his soul from his body, and converged it into a solid form, a feat only accomplish-able by [Solid Soul] experts! He looked down at Yu Jingli in disdain.
"Wretch! let's see you escape death now!"
Yu Xiuying who was simply observing the situation since now couldn't just watch any longer.
"Hold your hand Cedric! You really DON'T want things to continue like this!!"
She raised the Vindicator's Rod which was crackling with deep green lightning, its power inciting heaven shaking changes in the world around it. Dark storm clouds seemed to gather from nowhere and an ominous wind was summoned to the area. A terrifying pressure pressed down on all of them, preventing anybody from moving! Cedric's eyes narrowed into pinpoints, terrified by the developments which had just occurred! Although he was confident in fighting Yu Xiuying, who was weaker actually weaker than Yu Jingli on her own, he would never cross her when she was wielding that rod. He knew full well that right now, Yu Xiuying was evenly matched with him, if not stronger than him! That was the terror of the Vindicator's Rod! He quickly dissipated his shield, which turned into soul power and returned to his body.
Seeing that she had got his attention, Yu Xiuying lowered the Vindicator’s Rod allowing the environment to return to normal.
"There's no need for this farce, especially from you Cedric!” She said. “You just walk over here and act as you wish, expecting to be welcomed with respect? Get real!"
Cedric narrowed his eyes at her words, clearly displeased. Yet, there was simply nothing he could do as she was completely right. He perhaps really did take things a little too far. Yu Xiuying turned to face the spectre.
“If you came to investigate the location of the Blade Princess, this thing here knows a thing or two about her location.”
There was not helping it anymore. With the Adamantine clan investigating the absence of the Blade Princess like this, Yu Xiuying couldn’t hide Yu Yin’s involvement. She had no choice but to share what she knew, and take things from there.
"Tell this man everything you just told me.” Yu Xiuying said to the spectre.
"Yes, yes. Of course!” The spectre replied whilst nodding rapidly. “Those two ape…cough*…children invaded by abode and stole my treasure. They then both rushed out like some sort of lovey-dovey couple before teleporting to somewhere together!"
Yu Xiuying narrowed her eyes at the spectre’s choice of words. Couldn’t this guy have some more tact?! Both Cedric and Yu Jingli actually coughed up a mouthful of blood upon hearing the spectre’s words! Cedric looked especially angry, his veins popping out so much they looked like they would explode!
"BASTARD! Just see how I kill that scum who dares to make off with the Blade Princess!"
Yu Jingli blew up in turn.
"YOU DARE, AND SEE HOW I SLAUGHTER YOUR ENTIRE CLAN!!!"
Yu Xiuying sighed and raised the Vindicator's Rod again to shut them up, which they quickly did! She looked at the spectre and asked one more question.
"Do you know where they teleported to?" She asked.
"Unfortunately no, this humble one has no idea..."
Yu Xiuying glared at Cedric after hearing the spectre’s reply.
"There you go, you now know the situation. Now scram! Your blade princess isn't here!"
Cedric gave her a sharp look before giving her a slight bow and disappearing back into the rift which he came. It closed behind him, vanishing as if it wasn't there in the first place. She looked at Yu Jingli.
"Let's go!" she said.
She crushed a teleportation slip, bringing her back to her study at the Yu Family palace. Yu Jingli picked up the two men from the Crystal Corps and activated her own teleportation slip, following after Yu Xiuying.
Yu Xiuying knew that the Yu Family was now in trouble. Huge trouble. Thanks to Yu Yin, the Yu Family was now facing its biggest crisis since the Frigid Enigma all those years ago. The legendary event that had given the Frigid Enigma continent its name. However, things were even worse this time.
If the Adamantine clan found Yu Yin and the guardian treasures before she did…Yu Xiuying didn’t even want to think about it…

Think of this as a combination of Dr Stone and Black Clover! I am writing this story using similar structures to anime seasons, and the chapters in itself are structured more like manga chapters. The first two seasons are already planned out, and it is likely going to be daily upload (12 noon EST) of chapters from ~ 2 k words in length during the 'season' when there is backlog of chapters, with a week or two of a break in between seasons if no backlog. If you liked this story, please drop a rating and review. If you hated it, please drop a review and help me get better. Don't just spam a 0.5 rating and leave like a coward lol.

Everyone is a Superhero! Apart from me
Welcome to Loktharma, where everybody is a superhero from birth. That makes Eugene De Lavet the most special of them all. At eighteen years old, he still has no clue what his superpower is. Loktharma has never been a fair world. There are Worldbreakers who were born to brandish the power of the universe, warp time-space, destroy lands and continents. There are Craftmasters who control the elements and terrorize countries with their might and wits. There are Commoners who are only gifted with power for the finer arts, architecture, military arts, or small-scale elemental manipulation. Even in an unjust world like Loktharma, there is always one constant: everyone is assigned a Flair since birth; the power to do something extraordinary. And then there's Eugene. He's been running around in a secluded forest since birth, training and sparring his ass off. While he can wield a blade better than most at his age, he certainly can't throw a giant boulder using the power of his mind, or turn his skin into diamonds. He has no Flair, no purpose for leveling up his stats, and no idea why General Rizeni Baggardo keeps him confined inside a forest for eighteen years. At least until Lord Pyro—the Craftmaster of Tailiah—unleashes his fury on the forest, searching for a treasure Eugene doesn't even know exists. On a frantic escape for his life, Eugene starts to realize he was a part of something he's been completely oblivious to until now. Along with his companions, Melodi and Azra, he travels the land and unveils the secrets of the world. [The story will be told primarily through the lenses of three main characters, with occasional side character POV chapters. It also draws inspiration from Japanese shounen. So only proceed if you're cool with these aspects.]
