《Heir of Wilberforce》Chapter 8: Nostalgia Nára (4)

He acts all high and mighty, it's time someone call that little shit into order. She thought, smiling.
Armad and the younger prince Malik faced off.
A few minutes earlier, she had convinced her older brother prince Hasan to let the younger prince deal with Armad. He reluctantly allowed it after telling her she would be responsible for anything that happened. She had no regard for Armad, but she really needed someone to beat some sense into her little brother.
Armad was yet in another worst possible situation. In front of him was Malik and his two siblings, and behind him was The Wall - the largest water body in the entire seven worlds. It was named 'The Wall' because, despite being water, it stood vertically like a solid wall, separating the northern hemispheres from the southern hemispheres. No one actually knew what kept it standing: some said magic, some said nature and some even said it was the King of the First World. Bottom line: Armad couldn't escape through The Wall because it was a stagnant water that housed more monsters than the entire seven worlds.
Armad summoned his soul sword. He had no interest in fighting the sword worshippers so his plan was to look for an opportunity to escape.
Malik lunged forward and slashed with his soul sword. Armad easily parried the attack to the side and launched his own attack which forced Malik to jump back to avoid it.
This single exchange made the princess smiled internally.
A scion of House Wilberforce, a Djinn Master and a master swordsman. I am sure he is the right candidate to teach my brother a lesson. I can always shut his mind down if things get messy. The princess mused as she read Armad's mind like an open book.
On the other hand, Malik was really infuriated because Armad's attention was on his older brother. Armad viewed the older brother as the real threat not him. In fact, Malik could see that Armad didn't put his all in blocking his first attack.

He returned his soul sword to its hidden scabbard and summoned another sword. This one was a white sword with a thin blade like a needle. It shone brightly in the sunlight.
When he attacked, Armad felt a unique feeling of crisis in his chest.
When their swords crossed, Malik's sword sent a milky flash of wind blast into him. Armad was temporarily paralyzed. His entire body shook violently and he staggered backward. The wind blast passed through his body like a hurricane. It felt as if every bone in his body was broken. But in the end, he.. stood his ground.
On the other hand, Armad's will passed through his blade and entered Malik's body. The prince shook and he felt dizzy but that was it. He withstood it without batting an eye.
Armad had three options: jump into The Wall, use his Lightning Flash or take on the three sword worshippers.
Armad hesitated. He certainly didn't want to jump into The Wall. But the alternative was... no alternative.
He gritted his teeth and sacrificed two points of willpower.
You have permanently sacrificed 2 points of willpower to your soul blade.
Armad lunged forward with a steaming sword in hand.
Malik did the same.
When their swords crossed again, a powerful destructive force spread out to encompass the entire cliff. The ground beneath their feet turned into a dust. They jumped toward the solid ground to continue their attacks.
Nostalgia had been observing the exchange closely. Although, Malik had the advantage but that was because he was using a sword technique. Armad was only using a plain soul sword enhanced by willpower. She was right about his strength.
Wait... what's that? She saw a greenish thing stealthily moving out of The Wall. It can't be, we specifically choose this place because it's warded.
"Hasan, look at that... " She pointed at the greenish thing.
He recognized it. "Is that a Dordor?"

Dordors were ghosts which gained a humanoid body after eating a thousand men. If they ate one thousand men, they would have a male body and if they ate one thousand women they would have a female body. They were considered the most deadliest beasts lurking in The Wall.
"It is time to leave. I'll take care of him." Nostalgia said, making a hand sign.
Even as she spoke, the greenish Dordor opened its humanoid mouth and sucked in air. This created a strong gravitational force that pulled Armad and Malik toward it.
Armad and Malik held the edge of the cliff but the wind was strong.
An average Dordor would be three meters tall. Their skin color varied from red, green, blue, yellow to black. Some had a uniform skin color while others came with a mixture. One thing that was common to all was the lack of hair.
They differed from humans in that they could have more than one head, more than four limbs, more than two ears and more than two eyes.
Armad looked into the eyes of the Dordor. It was completely green and bald, with two eyes and two mouths. One of the mouths was smiling and the other was crying. It was a terrifying sight.
There shouldn't be any Dordor on The Wall during the last three months of the year. During this time, the First World sponsored a mega warding project to protect the people who traveled by sea to the annual Jinzidal competition. But because of the recent war, the annual competition was postponed, and that was probably why the warding was not done.
Hasan ran forward and caught Malik while Nostalgia targeted Armad's mind.
Mind Breaker active.
Preparing a telepathic probe...
Probe activated.
Assessing target's mind...
Warning: target's ambition is stronger than your telepathic probe. You can't destroy the target's mind.
Alternatively, you can check the target's lesser ambitions.
"That's not possible... "
She refused to believe it.
Assessing target's ambition...
Assessment complete.
Target's 1st ambition: saving his mom.
Target's 2nd ambition: saving his mom.
Target's 3rd ambition: saving his mom.
Target's 4th ambition: saving his mom.
If any of the four ambitions were any weaker, she would have wriggled her way through his mind already.
Nostalgia was struck speechless. She just stood there looking at Armad with a bewildered look. Just how much did this kid wanted to save his mom?
On the other hand, Armad locked eyes with her. He could clearly see the vicious look in her eyes. Spending any more second with them was suicidal.
"Lightning Flash!"
He disappeared, leaving a blue flash behind. The Dordor caught thin air instead of Armad. It looked pretty aggrieved as it changed course and attacked Nostalgia and her brothers.
Hasan teleported them hundreds of meters away.
"What happened? Why didn't you get him? He now has the information and he is gone." Malik said, stressing the last part.
"She is fully aware and she will take full responsibility. So shut up." Hasan said.
"He withstood my Mind Breaker!" She murmured.
"Haha... So the mighty Mind Breaker failed!" Malik exclaimed dramatically. "Who would have expected that. I want to see how father will react. Last I checked, he wants to use this information because he is the only one who knows it. If this kid happens to share it with the rest of the world..."
"Will you shut up before I strangle you." Nostalgia snapped.
"We need to get this boy before we go home." Hasan said.

This story will have a large amount of characterization and slice of life moments. I did an insane amount of research for this and poured so much time in, not just militarily, but other basic necessity things as well. Fights will be bloody, magic will be rampant, and the slice of life moments will just warm you to the core. (actual kingdom building)

Every child born on the continent of West Cartia is taught about the Great Goblin War but what the annals of history fail to mention is that the entirety of the conflict could be traced back to a group of four friends who stumbled into the currents of fate in search of a fantasy novel. This is the story of how a band of bookworms realized that when destiny pulled hard enough, struggling was futile; it was best to relax and go along for the ride. The Nomad: A Starforged ttrpg Playthrough
Life in The Forge is rarely fun, least of all when you've got an AI that wants to turn you over to the authorities, a stolen ship full of creepy cult shit, and you've pissed off the only guy in the Devil's Helix who doesn't want you dead through sheer incompetence. Unfortunately for Ash, worst courier in the helix, that's his day-to-day. When he gets offered an opportunity to get back into this boss's good graces (and finally get something decent to eat), Ash jumps at the chance, even if that means getting tangled back up with figures he'd rather leave in the past. This is a solo play log of Shawn Tomkin's ttrpg Starforged, as such, even I don't know what's going to happen next! Enjoy the ride!
