“Is there someone out there? Please help me!!”

As soon as I hear that scream, I tried to pinpoint the location where it comes from.

"It should be at the northeast around 500 meters from here!" I deducted the distance of the sound.

The only reason I could hear a scream that far was of course because of my enchanted hearing. If I didn’t have it, the robot might pick it up though.

Below I can see a slope and some kind of plant monster that had a flower-shaped head like a Rafflesia flower and full of thorns inside. There was also a white-haired girl being lifted right above its mouth.

“Shit! A plant monsters? I need to be quick or it might be too late!" Then, I pointed my pulse rifle to the monster and start firing.

The plant monster was caught off guard and became a beehive soon after. Unfortunately, the girl was thrown to the tree by the monster.

“Oof… Didn’t mean to do that.”

After seeing her suffer, I came down involuntarily from the helicopter by jumping when it was only 20 or so meters. I drive my qi around my leg and flip my body to minimize impact and land safely.

As I approach her, I hear a sound from behind and see that there are hundreds or even thousands of the plant monster coming out from below the slope after all the commotion here.

“Fuck! How could I fight that many?” My expression was full of horror when I think the total amount of the monster.

Then, I hurriedly grab her hand before saying,

“Follow everywhere I go, don’t ever look behind!” Just after I said that I realize that she was quite injured and decided to carry her instead.

The plant monster behind was chasing after me as I start to run for the helicopter in front. The helicopter couldn’t descend below 10 meters as there is a lot of trees around blocking it to descend.

‘Which leaves me to find an opening.’ I tried to find an opening with the ‘Assistance Drone Robot’ where there are no trees and found one around 100 meters ahead.

"Hold on tight!" I said to the pure girl and she held my neck with her two white hands tightly while closing her eyes. I drive my qi and increase my speed to the maximum.

All of the robots at the helicopters were supporting me by firing their weapon to the plant monster. Unfortunately, even if one were to die three would take their place and if three were to die another ten will appear.

As I was carrying someone, my speed with the monsters was quite the same making me always at the death’s door every time the monster was using their vines to grab me.

There was also a strange-looking pollen floating around me and making my vision a bit hazy. If I didn't have driven my qi to keep my consciousness, I would have died a long time ago.

“Vonix, could you scan what kind of creature the plant is?” I asked as I frantically escaping the pursuit of the monster.

[“Affirmative, Scanning Initiate… Scanning Completed… The plant monster seems to be known as ‘Rafflesia Hypnotic Flower’ it was a plant monster that could pull out its root and walk with some kind of vines that grow below the flower. It also releases some kind of pollen to hypnotize someone nearby and lure it to a place it inhabits to be consumed.”] Vonix replied in a man robotic voice.

‘Even though its power was only around a weak 1st Rank Knight Apprentice but if there were thousands of it, even a real Knight or Magus would be forced to retreat!’ My face became gloom in thought.

As I was about to reach the opening, one of the plant monsters slip past the barrage of the bullets and manage to catch my waist with one of its vines.

Although we had the same speed, the plant monster was a bit more agile in a forest-like terrain than I was if it weren’t for the robots that keep firing from above, I would have died a few times.

Just as I was about to be pulled, I throw the girl to the opening and let the robot in the helicopter to take her away. At that time, I start thinking about why I would sacrifice myself for her and not vice versa. I could just throw her to the monster and get away myself but I didn't do that.

‘Why? I don't know but I think my body moves by its own as if my heart did not allow to do such a thing to her or am I not thinking straight?’ I question my moral values and reasons.

I was just scared of being left by someone; she reminds me of someone that I like in the past. Just because of my cowardness and recklessness I didn’t manage to save her at that time. No matter what, that will never happen again.

Just then, I pull out my sword and cut the vines before trying to follow but just I was about to get away, a few more of the plant monster came and encircle me.

“This is bad, I don’t think I will be able to see the sun tomorrow," I said with a little bit of regret for the doom that will come.

I wield my sword skillfully and slash all of the incoming vines. The pollen makes my vision hazy but the nanobot in my body keeps making me stay conscious. The ‘Assistance Drone Robot’ also help me by giving fire support but as it wasn’t equipped with a strong weapon, it was useless.

‘Slash.. slash.. slash’ I keep slashing the vines everywhere until I couldn’t count the amount I had cut. The fatigue I had started piling up.

More and more plant monster encircles me from all directions completely cutting off my escape path. Despite the robots above keep firing nonstop, it feels like pouring a glass of water into a big fire.

["Master was in a dangerous situation, suggested to pull back and let the robots to do suicide attack to make way.”] I ignored what Vonix said as I already thought that it was impossible.

Even if the robots above were to come down and do a suicide attack to save me. It will be futile as I will probably die before they manage to make way.

Just as I was about to accept my fate and wait for my doom, A strange light suddenly appear and encircle me from all directions.

The plant monster that was about to eat me from all over was gone like there were never have been one in the first place. Instead, a white-haired girl with heterochronic eyes appear in front of me and hug me while sobbing.

‘Huh?’ I was confused by the sight I just see but as I was so tired, I didn’t bother to ask.

I gaze the surroundings and realize it was the inside of the helicopter. Then as the fatigue and haziness that had been piling up inside of me burst out at the same time, I fall unconscious into her.

I was floating… spinning slowly, yet out of control. A hazy white light was radiating my darkened face. Amidst the hazy white light, I see a white shadow of a figure.

The hazy figure had the physic of a little girl that makes me feels I had forgotten something. I tried to stick out my hand but to no avail as the calm of the light suddenly changed into darkness.

'I was falling!' that was what I feel when I see the hazy light became farther and farther and the light completely gone from my innermost vision.

I sat up in bed, panting hard and looking around my room frantically to make sure it had just been a dream.

‘Where am I? The last thing I remember was getting encircled by a countless of hideous plant monster.’ I thought as I gaze at the place around me.

Seeing that I was awake, the pure girl eyes seem to brighten and she seems to say something,

“#######”

“Ah fuck! This language barrier…” I cursed as an ‘Assistance Drone Robot’ came and start to translate it.

“I’m glad that you are okay…” She wasn’t wary of me anymore unlike the first time I met her at the Biological Chamber.

“Did you save me?” I asked as I remember the strange light that appears right before I lost consciousness.

As to answer my question, she vaguely nods then shake her head before saying,

“I don’t know.” She tilts her head innocently and cutely.

Seeing it, I want to rub her head but then hold myself as that wasn’t appropriate. Her pureness and innocents make me think of something.

“You said that you don’t remember anything of your past, even a name or identity?” Hearing what I asked, she nods her head in confirmation.

“Then, I will give you a name. Is it fine for you?”

“Yes!!” She smiled cheerfully in agreement.

“Your name shall be Lily then; it means purity and innocent as well as beauty," I told her name after confirming the most fit name for her.

She then happily accepts the name I give and said,

“From now on my name shall be Lily! I will stay with you forever!”

I nod in confirmation while ignoring half of the sentence she just said.

“Good.” After I said that, I became curious about her mystical power and decided to ask Vonix about it.

“Vonix, could you scan her and determine the reason for the abrupt teleportation?”

[“I will try, Scanning Initiate…. Scanning Completed…. From the data gathered, it was indicated that she wasn’t completely human. Insufficient Data… Error… The lack of knowledge couldn’t determine what she is. As for the teleportation problem, it might be caused by her left eye and her unstable emotion… Need further information for confirmation.] Vonix replied confusedly in a reporting man voice.

“Hmm??? Even the knowledge that we got from the gloomy Magus Apprentice before seems to not have any clue? I guess we need to increase the database by the notes and book from the Ancient Magus Tower that we got from the expedition, it might have something to do with her… no, it must! Vonix, translate all of it and add it to the database!” I commanded as I was quite surprised by the insufficient knowledge.

“Also prepare the foreign language of her and Ancient Language to be transferred to me from the simulation pod at the Mind Chamber… using translation is a bother…” I added.

[“Affirmative!”]

Just then, I asked Lily whether she want to learn Common Language with me or not. She agreed innocently with a beaming smile.

‘rumble..’ A sound of stomach rumbling suddenly heard from Lily’s stomach. She blushes red when I noticed that.

Although she had been given a liquid food before to repair her stomach so that it could function as normal and digest hard food, liquid food wasn’t effective to satiate hunger in the long run.

“Ahh… You haven’t properly eaten yet, let’s eat first before going.” Then I bring her to the dining hall at the base and let a robot to serve us some food.

The cooking at the base was much better than the one at the mansion. It was made by a robot hand automatically so it almost didn’t have any flaw when cooking.

As the ingredients were still limited, I decided to had the robot make a cheesy chicken steak with eggs and an exquisite bread which was better than even the white bread. As for the drink, I decided to have some strawberry juice for her and tea for me. Sadly, there is no lemon in the surrounding territory, I really miss lemon tea.

In here, I realize that she was a glutton. She ate all of the food swiftly before I even finished a quarter of mine. Seeing that, I could only make out a wry smile and give her a second portion.

Only by her fifth portion does she finally stop eating with a satisfied expression. Her pure and innocent aura with her glutton was for some reason resemble a gap moe.

‘Well, it was after all her first meal after more than a millennium…’

After finished eating, I go to the Mind Chamber with Lily to get the various languages imported to us.
