《Evolution-From the Bottom to the Top》Chapter 9 - What's with the Pain?!?!?!

---------------
You know, in every light novel that portrays evolution, they rarely talk about how painful it actually is. Sure, some of them act like it doesn't hurt or it just plain doesn't. But when a monster evolves, it fundamentally changes them from their very cells. Since our MC is literally only one cell, it doesn't hurt him as much as other monsters of the universe. And because of their evolution, the Creator (supposed first god, or the most powerful god at the time) took pity on them. It took most of its power to change this, so it went into slumber. It made it so that when an animal evolves, it gains a nearly indestructible shield that can only be opened by the creature when it was ready, or be destroyed by a god or someone with similar power. Of course, our MC doesn't know this as of yet, nor the actions of his patron god. It felt this way because after the creature evolved, they often had little stamina and was quickly eaten by other animals, only for them to evolve and start the process all over again. And yes, the shell does provide nutrition for the monster.

---Location: Azorinth Ocean ( Deep ): Diisan Current: Omnivorous Blue Spiked Whale's stomach---
I slowly woke to the sight of a white shell around me. How did I know that it was a white shell? Well, there was a kinda dull light that surrounded and made it so I could see around me. I could also tell that my senses had improved greatly. If I could barely see beyond a millimeter around me before the evolution, now I could see about 10 millimeters or 1 centimeter. And if I focused enough, I could sense about an inch, but only in one fine line of a direction. I still couldn't see myself, but I could tell that I became a darker color and a little bigger. I was around 220 microns or 0.22 millimeters (just divide or multiply it by 1000) before, but now I'm feeling like 240 or 250, 270 microns tops.

I began to worry about how to break out, but as I thought about it, it started to break apart slowly and silently. I felt that if I wanted it to go faster, I could've just willed it, but I didn't. I wanted to know what my predicament was before "Allahu Ackbar-ing" up the dead shrimp's body with my shell by exploding. Not that I'd mind much, but it'll give more attention to other monsters in the area. And I KNOW that no monster shrimp could make that a loud roaring noise IN THE FRIGGIN WATER. But anyway, I slowly exit the shell as it starts to dissipate and swim over to the edge of the exposed artery.
I tried to get a bearing of where I was, but to no avail, I couldn't see squat.
~Man, I would kill for some eyes right about now~
Seeing that the stomach was relatively quiet except for a few shrieks and roars, I went back in without attracting attention. I floated over back to where my pod of a shell was, but it wasn't there!
I turned my attention all around trying to figure out who did this while also putting my guard up. That shell seemed strong from what I could tell from when I was in there. I knew that it was something that probably even the whale couldn't break. It gave me a feeling of calm and being protected, but it also gave something much more...Divine.
Food for thought.
Anyway, there are three possibilities. Uno, the shrimp's bloodstream carried it away or absorbed it. Dos, something that was either super strong to break it or big enough to eat it, escaped and took it. But both the first and second one wasn't very likely seeing that the shell was A. practically the size of the bloodstream, clogging up both the other blood cells and my access to the rest of the body and B. the shrimp was long dead and being slowly digested by the stomach acids on the dead shrimps body. So with my amazing mind and reasoning, I deduced that it was the third one. It naturally evaporated or some sh*t like that after I left.

Seeing that there's nothing to be done about it now, I turn my attention to my food vacuole, which was currently absolutely and astonishingly empty. You know when you don't eat your lunch or breakfast, maybe your dinner, you feel hungry and that your stomach is a deep black hole which will kill you if you don't feed it soon.
Well, try not feeding it for almost a week. And before you ask, yes, by my calculations, it should have been almost a week. According to Earth times. And most of it was spent passed out (from pain). Also yes I did eat, but it was that one small, creepy multiplying bacteria.
I then realized that my status screen icon at the bottom had changed slightly and was showing a little red exclamation point. The telltale sign that something changed or was important. I looked around at the dull tube of blood particles about 2 by 2 and 1/2 centimeters. Since I didn't have a nose, I didn't smell the horrific scents of the disgusting stomach and the rotten flesh.
But oh well. I went to check the obnoxious beeping of the icon of the status screen. As I clicked it I noticed it's immediate changes.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
