《To Deify a Deity》Chapter 6 - Confrontation at Pandora

After Lynefra's little demonstration for the Dean, she had returned to the dorm room assigned to her. Upon opening her door, however, what lie inside wasn't her room, but that fancy white void space that all the gods seemed to just love. Lynefra sighed as she was pulled into the void space.
Hello again Lynefra. Lystall's figure came into view. Her eyes always smiling.
"Hello Lystall, it's good to see you again," Lynefra was being polite. She knew Lystall was ever present with her but she still wasn't quite sure as to Lystall's intentions towards her. Not that I can do anything if her intentions are malicious anyways Lynefra thought. She still didn't know the extent of her abilities.
If you wish it, you can always see me, Lystall's eyes twinkled. Actually the new visitor today is Kuzunoha. I believe you requested something from her previously.
"Oh um...yeah," Lynefra hesitated. Inviting a god from another world probably wasn't the most flattering thing you could do in front of your own patron God and Goddess. Thinking of the patron God, Lynefra looked around and was surprised to actually not see him.
As if by reading Lynefra's mind, Lystall spoke, Syble had an errand to run. A slight look of worry came over Lystall. Over the last 15 years she had gotten very close with Syble. Gods didn't have much to do so Lystall was always with Lynefra but to her surprise, Syble had "cleaned up" his act. He stopped making riots and hovered over the half breed girl as well. Since they had so much free time, most of the time was actually spent together.
"That look is the same look mother gives father when he sets out to fight an enemy." Lynefra didn't miss the slight look of concern that had shadowed Lystall's eyes.
While we wait on Kuzunoha to get back, how about I give you a quick lesson about your own history? Lystall asked. Lynefra assumed Lystall was trying to change the subject but she decided to go with the flow. She nodded her head in agreement.
You remember when Syble hinted that you're more than simply a High Human High Elf, right?
"Yes."
Well..Lystall started to explain Lynefra's circumstances in great detail.
======================================================
"Veorful! I don't believe we'd had the pleasure of meeting!" Syble's said in his usual domineering manor. He was standing just outside the mortal barrier to the Paradoxica systems.
"Oh? I don't believe I've ever met a small fry of the younger generation. Who might you be?" The woman, Veorful questioned in a challenging tone. She was holding the inert forms of Zues and Thor. They had attempted to stop her but they had taken her lightly because she was a woman.
"HA! No wonder he took you as a wife. I never met the guy while he was still in his original form but obviously he had good tastes in women." Syble licked his lips. He liked strong women. Specifically, he liked a woman who could was confident in her own abilities and could hold her own in a fight. It also helped that Veorful's appearance was that of a war starting beauty.
"Oh? Do you find me appealing? Veorful smiled as she released the bodies for Thor and Zues. They weren't dead, simply unconscious. They drifted away from her in the void of space as Veorful's clothes changed from a form fitting silk dress to slightly revealing battle armor. Syble had come ready for a fight so Veorful thought she'd let him humor her, he was wearing his typical military style fatigues in addition to a black beret. He had a very large, very heavy sword slung over his back. Syble's weapon of choice was similar to that of Traigar's. A heavy sword. The main difference was in size and weight. From a distance the weapon actually looked the same but Syble's version was 9 meters tall and weighed as much as an average life bearing planet, not that it mattered in space. What did matter was its mass. It was so heavy that it generated its own gravity, causing Zues and Thor to slowly float towards Syble.

Syble frowned slightly as he removed his dark eye glasses, exposing his eyes. He waved his hand and the bodies of Zues and Thor appeared on the other side of the Barrier partitioning off the Paridoxica systems. Little lady, you might not want to fight, Syble said. His tone didn't match his words and his actions were especially contradictory as he pulled his sword from his back and readied himself to attack.
"It seems that you want a fight though. I'd like to measure the 'strongest' of you new gods anyways. You can gather the rest of you if you want. I'll play with all of you before I go find who I'm looking for," Veorful replied. She pulled at the thorny belt she was wearing and removed it from her waist. It turned into a giant whip that could easily wrap itself around the planet Jupiter. The new gods and the old gods didn't know much about eachother. The only divine beings that could move back and forth between the barrier freely were the new gods who didn't really have any interest in the old parts of the universe and a few of the divine beings whose power barely raised them to godhood - like Kuzunoha, Loki, and Aphrodite.
Syble's lips curled into a smile, "Woman, I really admire your guts. I'm enough to humor your paltry ability." Syble pushed himself off the fabric of space-time with so much force it casued it to fold over itself. "COME!" He yelled wildly. He never really got to let himself loose against other gods. The only things he had fought all out against before were the chaos monsters from outside the Universe but since the spacial fissues and tears had long since been healed, it had been eons since he last fought with all his power.
"hmph," Veorful harumphed in disdain. Being insulted by a youngster wasn't her favorite thing in the world. She would be able to forgive him if he was one of her specific creations, but he wasn't. She moved to the side in an attempt to side-step Syble's quick, overhand blow. She struck out with her whip.
"WEAK!" Syble's voice embodied raw power. As the whip approached him it splintered and tore itself apart against his outstretched arm. He used the remainder of the whip to pull Veorful towards him with such a force that she couldn't resist. "If you managed to kill him with simply this power, he was a failure as a man!" Syble declared. His opinion of HIM took a turn for the worse.
Veorful might have killed her husband, but she didn't do it intentionally. Honestly speaking, he offered up his soul for her to strike at the last moment in order to appease her anger, which had angered her even more. After 15 billion years together, her love for her husband was firmly cemented in the very core of her being. She couldn't abide a junior insulting him. "Is that so?" Veorful spat venom as she spoke. Syble was swinging his heavy sword towards her in a horizontal motion to sever her body in two as she approached from his pull.
Veorful struck out against the sword itself when she was in range and shattered it. Syble looked in disbelief at his beloved weapon before Veorful gazed upon him and slapped his face.
The slap had been fast. It created small tears in space-time as it passed light speed and struck firmly against Syble's cheek. He went flying uncontrolably through space until he crashed heavily against the barrier to the Paridoxica system. The impact was so violent the barrier trembled once and shattered. Syble continued onward and smalled into one of the smaller worlds of the system.

Fortunately the planet had long since been dead. It was the original home world of the High Humans and it was a lifeless husk. The planet's rocky surface offered little resistance to Syble's tumbling body as he shot through the crust, mantle, and into the core of the planet. The force of the impact was so great that as his body had passed through the remaining atmosphere of the planet, it was set ablaze. In a flash half of the planet was ejected into space from the violent collision and the remainder was on fire.
The slap didn't injure Syble, it only served to anger him. He wasn't the strongest of the new gods for nothing. He yelled loudly as he ripped the core of the planet out and launched it towards Veorful. "Is that the best you can do?" Veorful mocked Syble in disdain as she easly knocked the planet's core away. Once the core was out of her way she realized Syble had been right behind it.
Without giving her a chance to ready for Syble's other attack, he heavily punched Veorful in the stomach. "Know your place," Syble growled at her while he reached out and grabbed a bundle of Veorful's hair and heavily launched successive blows to her face with his free hand.
Veorful was unable to defend against Syble's heavy-handedness. Syble didn't stop either, he relentless rained blows down upon Veorful's face. All the while he continually yelled at Veorful. Syble was so enraged that only bits and peices were coherent, "You dare destroy my planet!" after a while the blows started to slow down but they became more and more fierce, then the next coherent sentence from Syble reverberated in Veorful's mind. "Lynefra is out of your reach, fowl woman!" A smile crept over Veorful's bloodied face as she casually caught Syble's hand, stopping the rain of blows with ease.
Veorful erected herself and looked at Syble with pity. Her face healed at a pace that was visible to the naked eye. "Thank you for the information. I now know the name of whom I seek."
Shit, Syble thought. He was never much of a strategist. In his rage he had inadvertently given Veorful the first name of who he had come to protect. Syble smiled stupidly at the woman before speaking, "Well...shit." He knew she was a powerful being. He had used his utmost ability to try and dissuade her and even kill her but she took the beating and patiently waited for his loose lips to spill the beans of her target.
"Young one, allow me to teach you about true power," Veorful said in a magnanimous tone as she started to radiate light. It was true Syble was strong. He could even lightly injure Veorful, but in her full divine form, he was but a candle against a raging star.
Syble prepared to strike. He wasn't one to go down without a fight. Veorful grew so bright Syble had to squint to see without being completely blinded. Damn woman, was his last conscious thought before a hand struck his left cheek sending him flying. The woman's form continued to change, light continued to increase in luminosity and when the light finally reached its brightest point and started to die down, the form that remained was a massive Falcon.
===========================================
Kuzunoha appeared in Lynefra's field of view carrying some interesting looking clothes and a couple of booklets. Lynefra!...Lystall. Kuzunoha's mood was kicked down a few steps when she realized Lystall was with Lynefra. The divine fox was overly fond of Lynefra. The other gods couldn't figure out why. None of them realized it was because in Lynefra's previous life, the god had allowed Kuzunoha to be able to conceive a child with a mortal man. The child had been the joy of Kuzunoha's life. His name had been Seimei and his father was a nobleman who helped Kuzunoha out in a time of crisis. She would often go visit Abe no Yasuna, her husband, in his various lives. He never remembered her outright but every time he took notice of her there was a familiar look in his eyes. Lynefra's previous self had given Kuzunoha permission to receive information about every new incarnation of Abe no Yasuna and their son, Abe no Seimei. Thanks to the generosity of Lynefra's previous life, Kuzunoha was overly attached to Lynefra herself. Even if Lynefra had no clue why any of these gods and deities were so affectionate towards her.
(historical allegory ftw. I'm going to get struck by lightning for desecrated all these myths. mwahahaha)
Oh Kuzunoha, don't be like that. Lystall sounded amused again. She's an elf, I'm the goddess of the elves. It's only natural that I be with her.
"...Um, do you spend so much time with my brother, Freyd? I'm sure he'd love you." Lynefra piped up. She felt more comfortable with Lystall and Kuzunoha. She didn't know why but her sass was indicative of her sense of familiarity towards the two.
Lynefra, Freyd is a mortal and you're not. Lystall's reponse didn't shock Lynefra, after all, Lystall had just briefly explained why Lynefra had Aphrodite's uncanny charm as well as powers only gods possessed.
"That still doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to me. So part of my soul was once a god? But I'm mostly mortal now." Lynefra retorted. Might as well fight for my brother's benefit, Lynefra thought to herself. She thought Lystall and Freyd would actually make a good pair. It didn't occur to her that anyone wouldn't love her big brother as much as she did and she still didn't quite understand the difference between love for family and love between a man and a woman.
"Are you sure you don't wanna go spend time with my big brother? He's really nice you know!" Lynefra insisted.
No. It won't happen. Lystall was equally as firm on her position.
Ahem. Kuzunoha interupted the two, I happen to have some sword forms in these booklets for you Lynefra. There isn't a strong use of inner force where I come from and your weapon wasn't used by women very much so you'll have to adapt these to your own specific methods personally. As for clothes... Kuzunoha's eyes lit up, and smile smiled mischieviously. She then pulled out some odd looking clothes. They weren't even all that similar to Kuzunoha's Kimono. With a thought, Kuzunoha stripped the clothes off Lynefra and replaced them with the Lavender colored clothes she had brought with her.
Oh, I approve of this. May I? Lystall asked Kuzunoha for permission to modify the clothes.
Oh by all means. Kuzunoha's eyes twinkled as she covered her smile with her fan, slowly fanning herself delicately.
"No!" Lynefra strugged against the looks of the two goddesses and tried to retreat. She had been stripped so fast she went into shock and before she knew it, new clothes had already been placed on her. She closed her eyes in an attempt to return to reality but when she opened her eyes she was still facing the two goddesses in the white void space and Lystall was even closer than she was before. Lynefra tried to run but realized she couldn't move her body at all. Oh you've got to be kidding, Lynefra thought.
Relax dear, Your outfit is just too conservative. Show off your blessing from Aphrodite. Lystall smirked.
