《Creator of All-Realms》Chapter 7: Seven Days

Strong and weak cultivators alike flooded towards the Palace of Knowledge. Everyone wanted to know what was hidden in a place owned by such a powerful being. In the distance, a cultivator said to his Dao Companion, ''Have you heard? It was said that this Palace of Knowledge comes from a higher realm!''
No matter which path you took, all beings wanted to find their own happiness. All of them had one thing in common, all of them wanted to pursue the ultimate truth. To some, the ultimate truth is power, to others, the ultimate truth is knowledge.
In the end, everyone has their own understanding about what 'ultimate truth' means.
His Dao Companion was thoughtful for a moment, ''It's not impossible. I mean, it's common sense that all living beings originated from the Heavenly Dao, however, we were born as mortals. Even if we cultivate, in essence, we're still mortals.''
Their force is called Mysterious Heaven Sect, what they focus on is knowledge about all living beings, they respect Heavenly Dao the most.
Their Sect Master is called Yuan Di, someone at the Ethereal Life Realm, he owns the 'Profound Heaven Body' and is naturally close to Heavenly Dao, having the ability to faintly predict the future.
However, the Palace of Knowledge was beyond his prediction, as if it was something that did not 'belong' to Heavenly Dao.
The cultivator looked at his Dao Companion as he fell in deep thought, ''Perhaps... The Palace of Knowledge comes from a place of Immortals? It's common knowledge that we, cultivators, pursue the ultimate truth and Immortality, after all.''
''That's possible. Such a place could be called Immortal Realm, what do you think?'' The Dao Comapnion didn't know exactly why such a word came to her mind, but it seemed to be such a perfect definition!
''As expected of you! That's a wonderful name!'' The cultivator smiled as they continued their journey.
...
As time passed, cultivators from different races and forces kept appearing around the Palace of Knowledge. A faint barrier stopped them from simply entering the Palace, it was as if someone was deliberately waiting for more beings to appear.
In the void, a man stood tall. He is about 1.90 meters tall, has red-colored eyes like ruby, slit pupils and a red unicorn-like horn in the middle of his forehead. He wore a dark red-colored, scale-like armor. A human being saw his appearance and shivered, ''T-That's the Dragon King!''
At the Ethereal Life Realm, Spirit Beasts gained the ability to assume human form. It was a convenient form for them when they weren't fighting, however, they would assume their original form to fight others.

The Dragon King looked at the human being who first noticed him before retracting his gaze. No sane being dared to attack others in front of such a respected place, what if it provoked the powerful being that invited them here?
''Where is that Lu Zun? That man kept provoking us hundreds of years ago, won't he appear here?'' The Dragon King said, his disdain undisguised at all. His eyes seemed to glow for a moment as another being suddenly appeared around the Palace of Knowledge.
An extremely short yet muscular man with brown-colored hair and eyes stood in the void, ''Oh? It seems that the Dragon King wants to fight the Golden Heaven Daoist again?''
Looking at the short, muscular man from above, the Dragon King frowned, ''I don't remember this being of your interest, Dwarf King.''
Just as the two of them were discussing, a woman appeared in the void. She had long, silver-colored hair that went all the way down to heir waist, blue-colored eyes like sapphire. She was wearing a tight dress, as if to show her curvaceous body, ''Ah, boys... Why must you discuss like this? The juniors are watching you two, aren't you afraid of ruining your reputation?''
The Dragon King and the Dwarf King looked at her with disdain as the former said, ''For someone who is also wanting to see Lu Zun even more than we do, you're disguissing your intentions very well, Empress Xue!''
After just a few hundred years passed, the living beings within the World of Origin had already developed civilization to the point of Kingdoms, Empires, etc. It's just that Ethan had already predicted that due to technology being unnecessary for cultivators like them, they wouldn't go past that.
It was a civilization of cultivation, not technology, after all. It didn't mean their civilization was primitive, it's just that they went towards a different direction, keeping themselves as Sects, Kingdoms, Empires and Clans.
Empress Xue looked at the Dragon King while narrowing her eyes dangerously, ice particles appearing around her. When she first met Lu Zun, both of them were young, and she fell in love with him at first sight. His high-spirited mind, hot-blooded personality captured her heart, but the young Lu Zun didn't accept her love as he was pursuing cultivation with his whole heart.
The Dragon King was obviously mocking her unsuccessful love. She had already seen some cultivators fighting each other for a place in the Palace of Knowledge, thus, the owner of the Palace wouldn't intervene in any fights that may happen, ''I guess it has been some time since I last fought someone, even a lizard that just rose recently thinks he can provoke me...''

Around her, it was as if a world of frost suddenly descended. A huge pressure seemed made many weaker cultivators, even at the Returning Core Realm, kneel down, ''Should I remind you why I'm called the Blood Snow Empress?''
''For a mere human, you do think highly of yourself.'' The Dragon King's eyes were cold, and the temperature suddenly rose. It as if the world was divided in two, the first half was a world of frost while the second half was a world of flames.
Empress Xue and the Dragon King were extremely incompatible. She had created an original cultivation technique named [Extreme Ice Technique] based on her Extreme Ice Dao, while the Dragon King had a Fire-oriented bloodline and mastered the [Heavenly Flame].
Just as it seemed that a battle would happen, an overbearing Energy was felt by the two of them. A tall man with long, black-colored hair and golden-colored eyes like the sun appeared along with a man and a woman. The man had short, silver-colored hair and eyes while the woman had black-colored hair and brown-colored eyes, both of them were very good-looking.
''Golden Heaven Daoist, Mysterious Heaven Sect Master and Dark Abyss Sect Master!'' A cultivator exclaimed in surprise, these three figures happened to appear at the same time, despite not coming together to the Palace of Knowledge.
The Dark Abyss Sect Master, especially, was very powerful. She was the daughter of a slave, but awakened the Endless Abyss Body, a Heavenly Physique like the Golden Heaven Body and the Profound Heaven Body. A few years after her parents died, when she was about to be violated by the leader of the tribe, the Endless Abyss Body, saving her from such an horrible fate and killing the tribe leader.
After she escaped, the Dark Abyss Sect Master cultivated according to the memories inherited form her Heavenly Physique. A few hundred years passed, and she stood at the current peak of the World of Origin, the Ethereal Life Realm. Differently from Lu Zun and the Dwarf King, who cultivated Energy to achieve the Ethereal Life Realm, her physique was focused on Mind Power.
The Endless Abyss Body had the power to devour energy. Her Soul Dao, derived from the Endless Abyss Body, was called Devouring Dao. Even in the same realm, the Dark Abyss Sect Master barely had opponents, and despite focusing on Soul Dao, her Body Dao is also extremely strong due to the Devouring Dao.
As the three of them appeared, powerful being appeared one after another. One of them was a charming woman with nine fluffy tails behind her and fox ears, another had golden-colored hair, silver-colored eyes, extremely good features and pointed ears.
Although only Lu Zun, the Dwarf King and the Dark Abyss Sect Master were at the Ethereal Life Realm, the others exuded either Mind Power or Energy not inferior to them. Many of them just needed to sublimate their Souls to achieve a breakthrough.
Lu Zun's once dead-like eyes seemed to have regained their emotions, and so he stared at the barrier that prevented them from advancing, analyzing it quietly, 'It's impossible to break this barrier, however, it seems that it was set to destroy itself.'
The barries was shrinking in an almost imperceptible way as time passed, but only Lu Zun, whose eyes were special due to the Golden Heaven Body, could notice it. As it wouldn't affect him, his voice was heard by all living beings around the Palace of Knowledge, ''The barrier is shrinking in a very slow rate. In around a week, it'll disappear completely. It's as if the barrier was set so that all cultivators with enough strength could reach the Palace of Knowledge in time.''
Hearing his words, even the Dragon King, who was at odds with Lu Zun, couldn't help but pay attention to the barrier, ''Is that true? Why can't I feel that it's shrinking at all?''
''Because you do not have my eyes.'' Lu Zun said, a vein popped in the Dragon King's forehead. However, he knew that Lu Zun's eyes were very unique, so he just snorted angrily before keeping being returning to silence.
Afterwards, the whole area fell in silence as well. Beings from the same force made a temporary base before chatting about the situation, juniors from different races appeared. Everyone wanted to see which opportunities would be availed in the Palace of Knowledge.
Occasionally, fights between the youngsters of different races and forces took place under the supervision of their elders. Of course, killing wasn't allowed, they didn't want to displease the owner of the Palace of Knowledge.
In such an atmosphere, seven days quickly passed. The barrier was visibly shrinking as time passed before it disappeared once seven days passed.
Instantly, the once peaceful area became chaotic. Powerful auras rose as cultivators, weak and strong, rushed towards the huge entrance of the Palace of Knowledge.

Meek
After failing as an apprentice cooper and a town guard, Eli finds his place at the Rockbridge archives. Sure, he's the oldest 'junior scribe,' but he likes the job. And he's good at it, too. Then he completes an apparently-insignificant project, and the brutal reaction shocks him--with consequences that eventually shake the world. Eli gains powers. Rare and inhuman abilities. He progresses slowly, steadily, and not without setbacks. He changes, too. Is he a hero, a villain, a human, a monster? Depends who you ask. Meek is an epic fantasy with elements of progression. The basic magic is simple: five Paths, each with a different powerset. However, complexity arises from combinations, and the protagonist wields a magic all his own. Meek is set in the Valley, the only (as far as anyone knows) human empire that survived a Final Battle against a terrible foe. The Valley is warded against infiltration, but the enemy learned how to warp human souls, to foment discord within. However, another soul is also ... changed. Perhaps even 'warped.' And that soul is starting on a long (long, long) path that might, one day, prove that the Final Battle wasn't so final after all.

The Last Science [SE]
[SE has the same content as the original story, split into smaller chunks for easier reading. This story is on a temporary hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I work in healthcare and unfortunately no longer have the freetime to continue posting on a regular basis. As soon as our workload decreases, I will return. Thanks for reading! 💙] No one ever knows the whole story. Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the fading town of Rallsburg stumbles upon an amazing discovery—magic itself. Faced with potentially world-shattering power, the people of Rallsburg keep the secret for themselves. Led by Rachel DuValle, a perpetually underestimated college student with grand ambitions, they seek to found a new society. The world beyond suspects nothing, but magic cannot stay hidden forever. A train arrives in Rallsburg carrying Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate. To him, magic could represent meaning for his life, an explanation for his empty existence. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever—or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series, focused on the modern world with a twist. New societies bud and grow, but the people who make them up are imperfect and flawed. The story includes elements of mystery, action, crime, interpersonal drama, relationships, philosophy, sociology, politics, and much more, all centered on the perspective characters driving the tale. This is the "Scraps Edition" of the story, where the chapters have been split up into bite-size chunks (roughly 1500-3000 words), for your convenience. The prose has been edited from its original form, with some improvements, but there are no content differences from the original. New chapters will be posted throughout each week starting on Friday and appearing on multiple days thereafter, depending on the length of the chapter. Content Warning (by request): This series delves into some topics and situations which may be upsetting for some readers. In American rating parlance, the narrative would be rated PG-13 (except for language), but some have noted the story can get pretty dark on occasion. Please use your best judgment, and don't be afraid to take breaks and come back later. I'll still be here! [Discord] - come hang out and chat! Encroaching Darkness
Ashford Meyers used to be a general practitioner, living out his days in peace while he expanded on his hobbies. This all came crashing down when the world changed. Creatures from myths came out of the ether to wreak havoc on the world. He uses his smarts and additional powers from the system to create a place for the remnants of humanity to flock to. He starts training those who want to protect the weak in this new world until everything changes with the arrival of the outworlders. So, this fiction is something that I have been working on for a few weeks, and as such, I have about 75 pages already pending. On another note, chapters will be released every week on Monday and Friday, 8:00 am EST.

The Polyglot's Rune
Fear. Regret. Memories. They all flashed before my eyes as my life began to fade away. I felt a darkness encroach upon my heart followed by a sinister foreboding. Within that moment I was asked a single question by a powerful, mystical being. “Brave being, do you wish to accomplish a great deed in your life?” “No,” I refused, but the voice did not listen. It summoned me to its world only to try to have me slaughtered. But then, I was saved by him, the princess who disguised herself as a man. He was hellbent on revenge, and he was determined to drag me down with him. This story is meant to be a bit of a mix of genres and cultures, so there are some elements that may seem xianxia like, but it's not exactly the same so I didn't tag it. It also has multiple lead characters but is written in first person. Schedule: Dropped Normal Chapter Length: approximately 3000 words Warning: Tagged [15+] for Strong Language and Violence (Gore and Profanity aren't very prevalent, but I added the warning tags just in case).
