Well, that was the plan, anyways.
"No, no, no, no. NO! I will not allow an unauthorised entity entrance into my world," howled the False God of Terra, as a multitude of translucent screens appeared around the throne. Each revealed a detailed script of what was happening down below. Be it through numbers, randomised letters, or even simple images of a shadowed portal within a forest, he saw it all and was actively sending his energy into the system governing the world below. Of which allowed his person to manipulate the energies enough to halt the allowance of another to enter Terra.
This was so, and he grinned as a howl of rage permeated the air around his ears. To which the False God did laugh uproariously at the battle he had won. However, this was short lived when his eyes fell upon the body of a large, red furred Wolfman who had appeared during this incursion. "What?" his scream echoed throughout the room, "How is this possible? Where did you come from?"
From here, the being did try to manipulate the energies of the world once more, to open a portal beneath the creatures feet, and send it out into the Void. Unfortunately, the system was unable to comply, and revealed that the creature below was one of the summoned Kin who had been summoned for this event upon Terra.
"Dammit," his gauntleted hand became a fist, as he slammed it down upon the arm of the throne. This action caused the space about his person the flicker for a time before normalising itself, "What. Are. You?" the False God growled, gripping one of the translucent screens, and causing it to enlarge as the scenes below slowly played out.
*****
"What are you?" screamed Jenny, as I hoisted her body high into the air, and gingerly took the basket from her somewhat limp grip. To this, the lips upon my muzzle stretched themselves into a feral grin, and a rumbling chuckled erupted from my throat.
"What am I?" My eyes flared to scarlet as the ears atop my head twitched as I heard Sia's frustrated howl at being denied entry back into Terra.
No. I did not bar her way, as explained by the actions of the one who controls Terra, but many believe my person capable of such an action. However, what many do not realise, or perhaps remember, was that since the beginning of our banishment, each of them are all my family.
Yes. Family. For we are all one in our desire to reclaim our world of Terra, and would do much if it meant we would reclaim it once more. In other words, I wound never bar my servants entry into a world. Especially one where we were all from.

In any case, the two brutes the female Halfling had tricked into following her around had acted just as I was about to answer the question of "What are you?" In this, the pair simply charged with one of them shouting, "Jenny," in a rumbling manner which sounded much like two boulders rubbing against one another.
However, as they approached, and before I could enact a spell, Robby appeared between my person and the others. In this instance, he had raised up his left arm, palm outstretched towards the pair, and howled out a short incantation called, ">!" Three spell circles, the colour of orange flames, appeared one after the next in front of his opened palm. Each of these rotated clockwise, counter-clock, and clockwise respectively as an orb of flame quickly formed within the centre. Within mere moments of its formation, it shot from its position and struck one of the half-Ogres in the chest.
Of course, there was a setback to this. Well, two to be precise. You see, the spell "Fire Bolt" is a compact ability which derives from "Fireball". The energy necessary for creating one such as this is far too great for one such as the young Robby, of who falls over whilst panting greatly. The second setback is one many young Magick Casters go through, which is the kickback of using such a spell.
For example, if one is not mentally prepared, then it will knock said caster unconscious due to the fact that they did not have the mental fortitude to cast such a spell. Of course, many things would arise from this, such as your party members not knowing what to do during a fight and their mage keel over from such mental exertion. Then again, there have been spells which were far too great for them, and drained their persons of all things emotional for a few turns of the day-star.
Another example, and this one applied to Robby for being only prepared mentally, was the physical kickbacks of such a spell. This one sent his body backwards a few metres where he fell down panting heavily from the exertion. For you see, my dear audience, if one is one prepared for one exertion, then the other will reach around to bite you in the arse. This is merely to let you understand that you need to be prepared both mentally and physically if you ever want to use a spell you know you are not ready to cast just yet.
Now, if a person decides to cast a spell far above what they could afford, then they would most certainly be shaving off their life force. Ah, be sure to stop them if they do, as the Abyss tends to reach in from that point in order to cause more chaos, but I digress.
As to how much damage the spell had caused? Well, one of the Ogres had fallen over with a Human sized hole in the middle of their chest. Of which spoke volumes as to how strong the spell was against something as strong as a half-Ogre; what with their tough muscles and strong-as-iron bones.

"Bruh-der," cried out the remaining half-Ogre, whose eyes were quickly transforming into pools of bright crimson. It would rage soon, and although I did not mind it, I still hadn't decided what to do with the rest of these insignificant creatures I had been paired off with. Certainly, I could allow them to die, but what if they were to prove far more useful than what I saw.
This was quite the dilemma, as I watched the half-Ogre begin its rampage by lashing out towards the nearest group who were far too curious for their own good. Which then started the screams, as the creature reached down, and tore apart the first victim. Of whom was a male, and screamed as it was dropped onto the now bloody ground, as it desperately tried to push its organs back inside whilst its legs rested nearby.
Its next victim was a lone female Human in a white robe, and was desperately trying to cast some sort of spell when the creature gripped her waist. It then squeezed with such force that her small intestines shot out of her small maw, whilst she choked on the blood that slowly filled up her lungs. After such a gruesome scene unfolded, did the creature release the female, and subsequently stepped on her head before moving charging bowling through a much larger group full of males who had unsheathed their weapons to defend what seemed to be the remaining females and a few magick casters.
After witnessing such a spectacle, did I decide to act and tossed the female Halfling called Jenny off to the side, the basket to the other. "What am I, you ask?" My voice was full of bemused apathy, as I crouched low in order to prepare my body for a charge towards the half-Ogre, "I am what I am, and what I am is... Me."
Upon finishing my little quip, did my body rocket off towards the creature. Of whom had been tearing off several heads as it struck out against those who would use their weapons and spells upon its body. Yes. Those of whom still standing had taken upon themselves to lash out at the enraged creature who had lost its "brother".
Once I came near, did I leap onto its back, slashing and tearing into the skin. For which it howled, dropping the bodies of its victims and intended victims, whilst it tried to dislodge my person. Yes. It did hit my body, and I had to pretend to fly off it. This was so, as I do not wish for others to know that I was far stronger than what I appeared as. Though, of course, I had to pay heed to the golden locket still hanging around my neck, and make sure it is still there throughout the battle.
No. I could not afford to hide it within my body, as it will not perform its job of hiding my true self from those eyes of the False God above.
In any case, the force from the creature's hand was enough to cause my body to slide approximately three metres whilst I held onto the side it brushed its hand against. Whereupon I did growl and charged its once more, leaping high with my foreclaws stretched out. If anyone was paying attention, they would have noted the odd discolouration of my claws. For in the beginning they were the colour of darkness, but now? Now they were a sickly green, as I plied my acidic poison into them in order to win this "impossible fight".
Yes. Many within the group believed it was indeed an impossible fight, as my body was lithe and full of wiry muscles whilst the other held the physique of a young Ogre. However, I still had many tricks I could employ, and one of them was my acidic poisons.
Of which was plied to the creature before my person through shallow scratches which slowly liquefied its body. This would continue with my person scratching its body, and it sending my own flying with a backhand or simply punch. That is, until it noted the lack of my person flying away, and its own falling onto the ground.
This was so, as its own right arm had fallen off after multiple applications of my acidic poisons. To which its own berserk status faded away, and it did cry out as the poisons ran rampant throughout its large body. "Bru-der," it howled as the left hand tried to clutch at its liquefied stump, whilst that appendage was dripping onto the ground in small pools of blood, flesh, and sinew.
To which I slowly walked towards the downed creature with a glint of madness within my eyes. "In other words, my dear Halfling," my voice rumbled quite loud as I noted the creature trying to stand as much of its left leg had fallen apart, and its right foot had become a puddle, "I am simply me." Upon these simple words, did I slowly transform my body back into a Wolf-kin with a pair of small clothes to hide that which was betwixt my legs from the prying eyes of all around my person.
Whereas the creature I had been "fighting" with groaned and fell over whilst revealing its skull.

Cybernetic Dragon
Idea Seven, or Inter Dimensional Explorer Automaton Unit-7, has had a bit of an accident. Hijacking the egg of a dragon rather than its intended target of a bird egg, it isn't fully in control of its host brain. Rather the two, dragon and cybernetic AI interface, must work together to survive in a hostile world of magic, dungeons, beasts and adventurers. The AI must deal with being a machine from a world of science trying to carry out its mission of exploration, while the dragon, Rex, must deal with being a cyborg living with symbiotic nanotech that sets him apart from other dragons. What adventures await them? Author Note: I tagged this story GameLit because it contains concepts like levels, classes, and dungeon/beast cores. But, it isn't tagged LitRPG because no one has status screens, other than occasionally Idea Seven who likes to organize data into blue boxes. It isn't a natural function of the world to display level ups or skill ups with an announcer voice. I mention this to set expectations, because otherwise I feel like LitRPG fans might be disappointed by my lack of LitRPG elements while others might be turned off thinking I have a lot of LitRPG elements. I think that if you approach the story with an open mind you will appreciate the gradual way in which the main character learns and expands his understanding of how the world works, but the game mechanics aren't meant to take center stage to the actual story.
