AN: Two chapters today. Something for the 200 followers. Will need to do something else, too. I don't know, I'm really tired.
Oh, and there's a little mindfuck in this and the next couple of chapters. It showed up in the first book, so it's okay to not remember.
Anyways, thank you for reading thus far. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to voice them.

"Let go of me," cried out the remaining Dwarf, who appeared to desire combat with my perfect self, "He killed Borrik! Let me avenge my brother!"
"Oh? You wish to avenge the puddle of flesh? Why?" My voice called out in a teasing fashion as I stalked forwards towards those who still stood in my and my God's way. This led to the rest of them, the Hobgoblins, Elf, Dwarf, and Human to stare about themselves in an effort to find an escape.
"Oh, no, no, no, no. There is no escape." In so saying, I called upon my magicks and summoned a horde of ghostly Undead. Though, of course, it was still daylight, and their strength was somewhat diminished, but they were still impressive nonetheless.
What really surprised me, though, was a silvered image of my God standing amongst the crowd. My guess was that He became rather bored, and desired some form of entertainment to pass the time. Well, no matter, for a large mass of Humans were slowly making their way towards us. These, of course, were the elite of the guards, and had a few knights amongst their number.
At that time, I held the desire to continue the fight, but my God did not, 'Although it would be prudent to annihilate the lot of them, Brutus, we must continue with our goals.'
"Goals, My Lord God?"
'Yes. Goals. You have a choice, my Lich King, on whether or not you desire to stay and watch history repeat itself, or head to the lair of the Demon King. Or you may simply do as you wish, but bear in mind the consequences.'
This was what He had told me, which left me with a choice. Do I stay here and repeat the life of our God? Or do I strike out on my own and march towards the Demon Lord. 'Quite the conundrum, isn't it?' His mental voice chuckled softly into my ear, which caused my body to shiver uncontrollably for a moment.
Yes. His voice did cause my being to shiver, but it was a pleasant one. In any case, I had to decide quickly, as the knights and elite guard had already surrounded my being with their raised swords, spears, and lances pointing in my direction.

"He killed your King," howled the only Human amongst the group who were unsuccessfully holding back the Dwarf, "He killed him just as he was giving out the quest to save your people from the Demon Lord."
"What?" called out an old brute of a Human atop a large, grey warhorse. This one was familiar to my mind somehow, which was then supplemented by my God whispering that it was the General's brother. "What did you say about the King? Where is he now?"
"He's dead," cried out one of the Hobgoblins, "That one," a finger pointed in my direction, "kill him with dark magicks."
This seemed to enrage the old Human, who then ordered my immediate surrender, "How about no?" I called out, a twinge of frustration had found its way into my voice. For I desired to do away with all of this nonsense, and continue onwards towards the Demon Lord.
Of course, my words weren't well received, and the group of elites, which numbered close to fifty, slowly drew closer. That is, until I pointed one of my beautifully crafted talons towards the closest Human, ">!" I howled out, as bolts of shadowed energy launched itself from my fingertips, striking a Human with a polished shield in front of its person. This bolt bore through the shield of the creature, then into its helmeted head. Afterwards, this bolt leapt from person to person, killing ten of them in an instant.
The brute, however, was clearly not thinking, and ordered the rest of his troops to charge my position. If he was, then he would have noted the mass of Undead nearby. For just as the rest of them let out their own battlecry, it was joined in by my own servants. Of whom howled, whooped, hollered, and screeched through the remainder of the elites.
No. This was not some "epic battle", but an "epic waste of my time". For what took place was a massacre, and nothing more, as they did not wield any sort of magickal items or weapons which could kill my servants. Instead, they were simple iron weapons and shields, and as you should know, iron does nothing against ghosts, spirits, Wraiths, Banshees, and Wendigos.
What I can tell you is about what my spirits did. Such as the Banshees, with their beautiful, melodious voices sang their haunting calls into the ears of a small group of Humans. Which also contained a Dwarf, by the way, of whom were so enraptured by such songs, that they could not contain themselves and fell over dead.

The Wraiths, with their newly manicured claws and talons desired to show them off to their new audience. So much so, they went a little too far and sank each of them into their audience's faces and chest. Thus, causing permanent damage or outright killing their bodies, whilst tearing away their essences and devouring them on the spot.
Then there's the Wendigos. They just had a bath, and dirtied themselves yet again by opening the mouths situated within their chests to devour their prey. Many a time I had told them to be careful with how they ate their food, and would need to remind them once again. What is more, these ones were naught, but children when considering everything. For they tossed away the mangled corpses of the Humans, which contained a pair of Hobgoblin corpses, and simply sat on their rears with pleasant expressions about their features. For such beings only ate the essences of their prey, and there was more for them to eat, but decided what they had was enough.
Quite strange, actually, as they are from Konaku, the Planet of Greed. Of which they have a pit within their stomachs that could never be filled. Which led me to realise that these were probably the experimentals of our God and Rojaahn, who were commissioned by Beelzebub Himself to find a way to end their cursed hunger. They were well made, if I do say so myself, and no longer hunted everything and everything as though they were just a poacher looking for their next big score. Instead, they hunted for a meal which would satisfy their small hungers that were no longer an empty pit without end.
At that time, I congratulated My Lord God on His accomplishment, who simply responded with a nod of His large skull whilst the silvered image of His person slammed the right, clawed foot into the old brute of a Human. Which then sent him flying high into the air and towards the mountain range towards the east. 'Hmm,' He hummed softly in my mind, which caused my armoured self to wiggle from the sensation, 'still too much strength.'
At about this time, however, I noted an arrow had lodged itself inside my face plate's nose. Of course, it didn't bother my person at the time, but the image was rather disconcerting. As I reached to try and remove the object, another arced itself into the left eye of the bird-like helmet. "Ow," I muttered, not at all amused as two more found their way into the neck area of the chainmail mesh. Which a third would have followed it, had I not noticed the object in time and swiped the object away with my God's sword body.
For it was very annoying, and quite rude, as I desired to enjoy the slaughtering of Humans by my servants from a distance. Instead, someone had the gall to direct my attention away from the massacre that was brought upon their shoulders by the brute of a Human. Now? Now I had noticed a lithe figure standing about twenty metres away. It was holding a large bow in its left hand, and was slowly pulling back the drawstring with its right. What is more, it appeared to my eyes that once the drawstring had been pulled taught, an arrow would appear wherever the right hand rested.
Another strange occurrence, to be sure, and one that I desired for myself, as I stalked towards the other. Once it noted my advancement, its movements became frantic, as multiple arrows soon flew in the space between us. Well, not that it mattered one way or another, as I simply blocked every arrow loosed in my direction. So imagine, my person in the peacock armour, already having three or four arrows in the armour, and was slowly advancing upon the archer.
Of whom was a male Elf with blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. Which would have made me ask him out on a "date"- I believe that's the correct term, yes?- if he wasn't so intent on killing me, but, well...
In any case, the battle between us was so anticlimactic, I won't go into much detail. For I simply slashed the male's body from right shoulder to left hip, and watched as both halves fell away from one another. Unfortunately for myself, the bow was damaged during this event, which caused my voice to tsk at this, as I turned my back on the scene and stalked towards the blood soaked massacre my servants and God had incurred upon the castle grounds.

They possess a familiar sense of inadequacy and insecurity. Marith realizes that for the first time in her life she has found herself a tribe, or, as they prefer to call it, a Chain. She is introduced to a world of Prophets, Runners and Mages led by an Oracle and a Watchmaker. Over the course of several weeks Marith learns that, together with her Chain, she is expected to save this fabric of reality, by fighting a mysterious and immortal creature and his aggressive pet. In order to have a chance at overcoming this force of nature she has to revisit the darkest and most desolate corners of her mind. ***** The total word count of the first 12 chapters amounts to about 85.000 words.
