《Mecha In Cultivation World》04- Black toothed rabbit

This transparent barrier was the reason that all of the people in the village were still alive or the Mana Beasts have already trampled upon them. Even the Village Cheif would not have been able to save them.
Ambrose raised his hand and touched the thin film of the barrier. He could easily pass through it. Like he has just passed a thin film of oil. Stepping in the jungle boundary he looked back.
To his eyes, the barrier was not visible at all. However, he knew that this invisible wall silently protected them all these years.
A gratified look appeared on his face and he bowed towards the barrier in respect. "Thanks for protecting my mom and my friends." He truly was filled with gratitude. In this world where weak people are viewed as nothing but pests. This barrier protects them all with no partiality.
Looking back at the wilderness. Huge trees came into his view. The smell of wet soil mixing with flora essence gave this environment a distinct smell. The loud chirping of birds and crows can also be heard.
The previous owner of this body has come here multiple times in the past. To collect wild Mana Berries and Fruits of Elephant Trees.
Elephant trees are the large trees in front of him. Their trunks are very wide and slippery and are home to many poisonous pests. On these large trees grows a big peach coloured fruit called Elephant Fruit.
Ambrose remembered that the Elephant fruit is almost the size of big watermelons. They are very hard to collect, to climb so up, on this slippery trunk is not something a second level Body Master can accomplish.
Whenever he previously find Elephant Fruits, he always found them on the ground. Many times half-broken and some ants feeding on them. It is said that these fruit taste like snake meat. Ambrose has never tasted snake meat in his life before. So he can't tell if it's true or not.
Mana Berries, on the other hand, were even harder to get. First, they were deeper in the jungle and secondly many types of poisonous or dangerous beasts hide in their bushes. One has to be very careful to collect them.
The previous owner of this body has only collected Mana Barriers once in his life with great luck. He stumbled upon one growing on the outskirts of this jungle.

"Let's collect some fruits first," Ambrose said with a smiled on his face and then his whole body got wrapped with a metallic mecha. 'The Snipe Suit'
He could feel that his agility has increased manifolds. Ambrose jumped and found out that he can almost jump for two meters without any runup. If he has this power on earth he would have won all the gold medal in Olympics.
He lowered his body down and found out that although his Mecha was metallic it made no sounds. It even suppressed the sound coming from his mouth.
His red eyes could now see much more clearly. He even zoomed into a wild bush and found out that there was a poisonous centipede there.
He moved his gaze upon the large Elephant Tree in front of him. Spotting a peach coloured fruit hanging on the top branch. "Let's get you first." He said and then jumped with his full power.
"Shalk!"
The dirt below his feet flew around due to the sudden force and like a lizard, he stuck to the slippery trunk. His sharp claws of both his hands and legs got embedded in the wood as he moved upwards leaving many holes behind.
He looked like an expert monkey climbing up the mountains. His hands and legs were moving in perfect coordination due to his clear vision. He can feel the power rushing through him.
"Ha ha ha!"
He let out a loud laugh as he made his final jump and caught the watermelon shaped fruit in his hand. His body then began to fall and he landed on the ground swiftly without any injuries.
"Thirty meters landing. Without an injury, this suit is amazing." His face was completely red as he landed. He was blushing with excitement. He has dreamed of being a superhero since he was a kid and now it seems that he can be one.
"Woohoo!" He punched the air in excitement.
He then looked at his first prey. The elephant fruit. In the past, it was all dependent on luck if he could get fruit like this or not. However now he can climb his way through the slippery trunk like he was some monkey.
And even the poisonous pests couldn't do anything to him as he was completely covered by the metallic mecha from head to toe. He can feel that the material that this thing made up of was not Iron or steel it was something else that he doesn't currently know.

As Iron or steel would be too heavy, however, this thing is very light. He even feels lighter in it compare to out of it. This was truly a magical machine.
He threw the Giant fruit on the ground as he had something else on his mind.
"Let's test out the sniper." Ambrose jumped again and landed about five feet away. Moving deeper inside the forest. Although his mom has prohibited him from entering the deep parts of the forest. He wanted to catch little meat for her.
"I will tell her that I found it dead on outskirts." He decided. Many lucky people in the village have encountered dead carcass of animals on the outskirts of the jungle. It was nothing new.
After going in little deep he silently climbed up on a big Elephant tree trunk. The region he was currently in was the most active one. All the villagers come to hunt here. He had to be careful and not get seen.
He didn't want people to see his peculiar armour. Although he was sure that no one will identify him with the mecha covering his face. He still didn't wanna take the risk that is why he started jumping from tree to tree silently.
The stealth of his armour was working now.
Although he has seen many potential preys till now. However, the one he was looking for was a black toothed rabbit. These creatures were very fast and has the same size as of a chicken.
He has heard from Nelson's father that these creatures although fast, were very weak. If one can set up a good trap then it is super easy to catch them.
He wanted this specific rabbit because if he came home with something else Thalia would not believe his single word. She was a cunning woman. It is not easy to fool her. Catching a weak prey will be ideal for him.
And if someone on the way home saw him with a dead rabbit, they will also think that he got lucky.
After about an hour of searching when he was about to give up, he finally spotted a group of these rabbits. There were ten of them, all had black fur and red eyes. They were silently gazing on the grass with their long ears raised in the air.
One of the big rabbits was even patrolling for the rest of them, its eyes and ears roaming around everything.
Ambrose was currently sitting about a hundred meters away on the top of a Giant Elephant Tree. His red eyes focused on the group. He knew that he can only kill one of them, because just as the first one dies. Rest of them will disappear in seconds.
'It will be better if I catch that big one. That one looks like he has more meat than normal.' Ambrose thought and then zoomed on the giant rabbit.
He can see its black coloured teeth. These rabbits were identified for their black teeth. However, teeth are not the only thing black about them. Everything except their eyes was completely black.
Their tongue, even the internal organs and bones. Ambrose has heard about creatures like these on earth too. Like the Black Chicken. It was said that their black meat was quite tasty and filled with mana.
For normal cultivators, it's very hard to catch them, however, Ambrose was different, he can catch them all if he wanted to, as his Snipe Suit gives him the agility of a level nine body master.
Which is enough to catch them individually. However, he doesn't want to go through all the hassle. It was time to test his sniper.
He imagined a sniper in his hands and a mechanic bulge appeared on the back of his shoulder. The long sniper came from behind him and rested on his shoulder. A binocular like scope slid from the side of it and moved in front of his eyes.
This sniper has no trigger. He can feel that it could shoot just with his thoughts. Ambrose looked in the green coloured scope and can see thermal images of his prey.
A smile formed on his face as he focused his aim at the head of the biggest rabbit.
"Bang," He said and then about a hundred meters away from him the head of Big rabbit had a hole in it.

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.

My father scolds me sharply. I flinch at the anger in his voice and quickly retract my hand, inches from the trunk of the tree. "Sorry father, I couldn't help it. I wrap my small arms around his neck and bury my face into his shoulder. He hugs me tightly and carries me away from the forest. "Why can't we go into the forest?"
