《Mecha In Cultivation World》08- Alpha Hunk Bear

Ambrose looked at two mushrooms and his eyes widened in surprise. "That is Ice mushroom and Fire Mushroom at the same place. It is just like yin and yang at the same place. And that moss below it. It must also contain the heavy fire and Ice attributes."
"If I can get my hands on this patch. Then not only will I be able to help myself. I can even help Nelson to get a pet beast in tomorrow's test." There was an excited look on his face.
Not only did he found Ice Mushroom. He also got his hands on a rare Fire affinity Mushroom. This type of mushroom can help increase his yang energy.
And if he fed this to a fire affinity Mana Beast. Its progress would be super fast.
However, all of his happiness drowned in the cold water when he looked at the pond. "A Martial Master Aligator!" He was still about ten meters away from the edge of the pond. And the mushrooms were at least a hundred meters away from him.
'I can't go in or this alligator would kill me before I can even touch the Mushrooms.' Ambrose could tell that the Alligator has already spotted him in the water and was currently staring menacingly at him.
It was a clear indication that if Ambrose even stepped in the pond the Aligator would not let him leave alive.
He started at the pond for a few minutes and then clenched his fist. 'I can't take the risk! This Beast is way out of my power level. I have to search for a different place. And if I couldn't find any more Ice Mushrooms. I will come back and then risk it.'
Ambrose decided. It was best if he first checked the area around before going in that dangerous place. That Aligator would kill him before he will know what happen to him.
He stood upon the tree branch and turned around to move back. However, just as he did so he spotted a group of Red energies running towards the pond.
They were running at very fast Pace. Ambrose looked at them carefully and Identified. That was village chief and the rich kids from before. Even the parents of the rest of the kids were there.
'They have provoked the Hunk Bears.' Ambrose could also spot about twenty-five hunk bears behind them. Chasing them at a very fast pace.

Suddenly the Village Chief stopped about twenty meters away from the pond. "There is a dangerous beast ahead! Everyone move aside. Let me handle these Hunk Bears and nobody go near the Pond no matter what!"
"Yes, father! Yes, village chief!" Voices resounded and then all the people expect village chief jumped out of the path.
"Come here, you Bastards!" Village Chief shouted and took out a sword from his waist belt. The sword looked rough and there was no metallic lustre on it. However, Ambrose could tell that the sword has been used to kill many Mana Beast before.
'The Village Cheif is more powerful than I expected. Killing him would also be a challenge. However, It should not be Impossible. If I just stay careful. I may be able to land a shot on his vital spot form fifty meters away.' Ambrose knew that is he wanted to exit this village he will have to fight Village Cheif one day.
'Although I am not ready now. I can certainly be able to kill this greedy man one day. I just have to practice my reflexes and speed more with my Snipe suit.'
Ambrose looked at the village chief. Currently, he has already killed one of the Hunk Bears. And was running towards the second one. "Guys, you should also kill some of them and Celia. You use my Pyro Bird to distract them and remaining kids you also try to distract them!" He shouted at all of them.
"Let's go guys. I don't think the village chief will be able to handle these many Hunk Bears on his own. We have to help him, to get rid of them quickly." One of the middle-aged men with a goatee said and then took out a Bolo from the side of his waist.
The remaining three middle-aged men also nodded at him and took out their Bolos too. All of them jumped out of the bushes and started moving towards the Hunk Bears.
"You three go left I will help Village Cheif. Remember to keep your distance and stay safe. These Hunk Bears although just as powerful as us. Can kill us easily if they attack in groups."
"Never fight more than two alone. Retreat if you has to." The Goatee Man said and then jumped towards the village chief. Piercing his Knife in a Bear's throat that was just about to swipe at Cheif.

The three-man also jumped towards the bears killing them one by one.
"Guys lets go and distract some of the Bears. Although we will not be able to do much. However, even a little help can change the outcome of this fight." Celia said and then moved towards one of the bears.
The rest of the girls and boys also nodded and moved behind Celia with their Razer Hounds.
"Pyro Bird. Burn it down!" She yelled and then pointed at one of the Hunk Bears. "Go Little Blue, Go razer..." The guys behind her also yelled and released their Mana Beasts at the same Bear. Their strategy was to kill one bear at a time by ganging upon them.
Suddenly the village Cheif's body was flung back and he almost entered the pond. The giant alligator growled at it. Not wanting to get out of the water.
'Damn...This Aligator is too sly. It knows that I am here for the Mushrooms. That is the reason why it's not getting out of the water to kill Village Cheif when it still have a chance.' Ambrose thought.
Village chief groaned as blood spread out on his chest. There was a bloody scratch mark on his chest.
"No...! Dad!" Celia abandoned her place and quickly ran towards the Village Cheif with a worried expression on her face.
"Stop! Don't come here! You go back and help your friend. This is an alpha Hunk Bear. You will be no match for him! I have a plan to take care of it so don't worry." The Village Cheif said. He has just noticed the Mushrooms on the rock and knew what a Strong Mana beast was doing here.
'If I could somehow lure this Hunk Bear Away in the water. I can grab the Mushrooms while the Aligator is busy fighting with Alpha Bear.' A smile formed on his face as he glared at the alpha Bear who was running towards him madly.
Although this Bear was just at the level nine body master it was even stronger then Village Cheif. If he somehow lured it to the pond it will at least take thirty seconds for that Aligator to kill this bear and it would be enough for him to get the Ice Mushroom.
"Come on you fat Hunk!" Village Cheif angered the Bear by pointing his sword at it. "Let me show you the power of my Throat Crushing Blade art. I have especially bought it form the Golden Falcon kingdom to kill the bastards like you!"
'A Martial Art Technique!' Ambrose's eyes widened in surprise. A martial art technique is only handed to the children in the capital and big towns. To get his hands on one. The village chief sure would have spent a lot of money.
'So all that tax money was for this!' Ambrose now understood why Village Cheif was extorting so much tax from them. He wanted to learn Martial arts and settle in a big town or Capital.
He let out a sigh after knowing about it. It happened everywhere. Even on the earth. Politicians extorted money from poor people in the name of taxes to fill their bank accounts.
It was known that on earth no big companies or rich people paid taxes. Only helpless middle-class people were the prey.
Ambrose has accepted this fate long ago. 'I just have to care about myself and the one that cares about me. Rest of them, it's their own business.'
He was no good Samaritan. The only people he cared about in this world was his mom and Nelson and for the rest of them, he would never risk his life.
'However, if this village chief gave my family any problems then I will have to step in.'
He just wanted a good life for both his mom and himself.
The Village Cheif moved like a snake and pierced his sword in the Bears Throat Skillfully. After that, he tilted his body down a little and then pushed the Mad Bear at the edge of the Pond.
"Die! You Piece of Crap!" He jumped and then kicked the sword that was half in bears neck already completely in it.
"Haa...!" The bear tried to growl however no sound came out. "Shut up you brain dead!" Village chief watched the Bear fall in the Pond with a scorn on his face.
Ambrose also looked carefully. This was his chance to get his hand on the two mushrooms. 'Now come on Aligator! Have the taste of that bear.'
And just as he thought that the black scaled Aligator jumped out of the water and munched on the Alpha Hunk Bear.

The Good Crash: An Oral History of the Post-Scarcity Collapse
"Don't we all feel, deep down, that we deserve the apocalypse?" APRIL, 2028—Global capitalism has collapsed. America has sealed itself off from the outside world, and inside its borders, a revolution rages. All it took was one incredible little machine. That machine turned into two, then four, then eight... like a virus, the replicators spread. As a work of oral history, The Good Crash features over 50 interviews with key witnesses to the events of 2027. The text is rendered in the words used by the interviewees themselves, with light editing for clarity and concision. As such, the book contains language and themes that are not appropriate for children.By capturing the voices to the people at the very root of the revolution, journalist and historian R. Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread. Crucially, the book also includes perspectives and testimony from those who attempted to stop the spread of the reps. "Some of these are heroes, too, in their own ways," the author writes in the book's introductory note.

YAOS 1 - Limitless Adventures - Yet Another OP Story Book 1
December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and at Amazon. December 30th 2018: V1.1.2 of YAOS Book 1 is out, some content additions, fixed typos. Amazon's enhanced typesetting now displays tables properly. YAOS is shown through the eyes of some genius athlete getting OP inside a VR, ah wait, Full Immersion game, ?F.I.O?. Not a Hero, not a Nerd, just a driven individual paying for mistakes made, biding time until he can return to the Real World. He isn't defined like you'd normally do it, you can pick his looks and name all on your own, just like you do in video games. Believe it or not, keeping his looks undefined is harder than you think. His backstory isn't expounded in detail, but it drives his choices. Book 1 isn't about depressing sob stories but about fun and rushing forward, pursuing new horizons. Oh, and you'll end on a cliffhanger! Well, most serials do, so you will probably expect that without being told explicitly. But it isn't that bad, there's a lot of reveals and more to come once this book, that is the first in a planned three-part series, is finally ready for release on amazon et al. The published version will have: 1.) Godawful speaker tags, I hate them, they make you stop thinking and speed up editing so much. In hindsight they should have been in to begin with. But I stand by my goals proclaimed earlier. You guys should think while reading, that is the whole point of the exercise. Apply the knowledge and ideas, improve yourself, get creative! 2.) Pretty colored tables, the damned blue boxes, a lot of work, 69 in one book. Finally fixed amazon's centering issue. Can't say I liked the hours needed to debug that. 3.) The promised Mitara chapters. 4.) A cover! 5.) And lastly, updated polished versions of several chapters. MC shares more of his past, some terrible chapters (esp. 32) finally work. Some new scenes, minor rewrites in parts. Text flow and other issues. The current challenge is to maintain essential ambiguity while satisfying people wanting to know more without thinking three steps ahead. Balancing one with the other is tough. The smut which was in remains, but the story told is not to be superseded by it. A 15+ rating for the first book is also important, not to mention, YAOS wasn't meant to contain any smut to begin with. If the Author can turn to writing full time his output should increase, so please support YAOS #1 once it does finally release. ~Thank You~ No maps so far, that should be in, but is really hard to get done right. Again, tips are appreciated. Update September 2017: Stubbed chapters, sorry guys, currently don't have time to upload them elsewhere, polishing book 1 and 2, writing 3, takes precedence. Book 1 is in heavy editing, too much to keep synced and continuing editing. I'd need a site which offers JS-free rapid managing of chapters and comments. Coding one myself or setting a premade up is out of scope until I'm done with the books. RRL-old offered that, nuff said. This is only here because the author believes in fairies, nobody reads this, most likely. October to December 2017: Life threw some curveballs. February 2018: Book 2 draft 1 completed, at ~150K words. Book 2 is fairly epic in scope, requires 1 rewritten chapter, some editing. Tables and miscellanea are in, but needs at least a grammar pass. March 2018: Book 3 at 28k words, first arc, rest needs serious planning for spin-off and satisfying conclusion. July 2018: Yet another proofing/editing session of books 1-3, 101+ chapters, ~300k words. B3 at 48k, starts out great, but no ETA, no wordcount limit, in flux. But prioritizing my writing cannot be done, I hate the delays as much as you, but you will prefer the whole released in a timely fashion rather than wait. Knowing myself how excruciating waiting can be, at least you'll get significantly polished versions and an ETA on book 2 by release of book 1. December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and in the process at Amazon et. al.. . To all who wait patiently, offered feedback, thanks again!

Chronicles of Rathia - The Era of Blood
Welcome to the Chronicles of Rathia. Contained within is a trilogy of stories which are all set in different time periods and with different characters. Each story has its own era from The Era of Blood, The Era of Magic and The Era of Demons. Read along the first in the series which is The Era of Blood where magic is still in an infant stage and where swords can dominate the battle field. In The Era of Blood, you follow along the first main character who had his memories wiped clean except for the most basic things in life. It is up to him to find out how to get his memories back and why they are gone. (If you don't like the story layout or characters, I suggest either just reading through or wait till the next one in the series is being released. With how it's set up, you can enjoy any of the three in the trilogy but of course reading in order will help give a better understanding of the world.) (Side authors note - I'm currently reworking the first several chapters as they are lacklustre to myself since they were originally a draft and not concrete at first. This note will stay here until all the chapters I wanted to fix up are done.)
