《Mecha In Cultivation World》36- Team

All four of them walked on the stony ground with normal Linen clothes on their bodies. The sky was burning hot and many carriages with screeching weels passed by them, stopping at the front of the huge gate that was currently open and protected by many armoured men.
They could easily peek into the capital by the open gates and tall buildings, plain roads and a centre fountain could be seen. The place was bustling with tens of people and carriages pulled by different Mana beasts.
"Why do you think missions are so important?" Ambrose asked.
"To get resources," Nelson said.
"What else would that be?" Doran said.
"They are ready to kick us out just because we don't bring resources?" Ambrose said.
"It's only right for them to kick us out if we are useless," Lulu said.
"Ok, so any idea on what kind of missions they give us?" Ambrose asked.
"Maybe Killing Mana beasts or Demons, or collecting herbs?" Doran said with a puzzled look on his face. He can't tell where Ambrose wants to go with this conversation.
"And how many years do you think this wall has been expanded?"
"Maybe fifty years," Doran said.
"They didn't need to expand this wall for fifty years. How many disciples do you think they recruited this year?"
"About twenty thousand," Doran replied and then went in a shock. He realised something.
"Yes! How are they accomodating that many people for fifty years!" Doran's mind was completely blown away by Ambrose's words.
Nelson and Lulu also looked at Ambrose with astonished faces. "What do you mean. Please tell us." Lulu said.
"All this can only mean two outcomes, Either they expel many disciples every year. Or either many disciples die doing the missions." Ambrose said and then finally looked at all of them.
They were already in front of the Blue Armoured men and was about to enter the City.
"I hope it's the first one," Ambrose said and then flashing his token to the guards he entered the gate.
"See you at the academy." He then disappeared in the crowd.
Nelson and the team stood there with a shocked expression. If what Ambrose has said is true then they really are in a dangerous place. All of them gulped saliva looking at the huge gates.

"I hope it's the first one," Nelson murmured. And then looked at the two remaining.
"I think we should do this first mission alone. And meet our team on our own. I will leave you here. I hope we meet again." He said and also entered the gates.
"Good luck!" Doran said while looking at his disappearing back.
"We have to work hard from the start," Lulu said and also went in the gates.
Doran stood there for a moment. Processing what Nelson has just said and finally entered the gates with a sigh. 'I hope it's the first one.'
Ambrose looked around him and saw huge buildings and markets covering all his eyesight. There were hawkers outside with small stalls and there were big shops with fancy banners and bustling crowd.
He has already somewhat figured why teamwork was important. It was because the missions were too dangerous and without good teamwork, they should be impossible to complete.
When he was moving towards the gates. He saw the condition of the houses at the very corners of the wall and he could tell that they were alt least hundred years old by their design.
Which means these walls haven't moved for the past hundred years. All these thoughts led him to a single spot. That the death rate or expulsion rate was very high at this place.
He looked around all the market and came across many shops that buy and sell beast cores. He knew that flipping beast cores will be his primary source of income.
In just two hours he reached the Golden Falcon academy which was at the centre of the whole capital.
He came to knew that the Academy was situated surrounding the king's castle. There were eight floors of the castle and on the highest floor lived the royals.
Large lectures were held at each floor of the castle. Quality of lectures increasing with each floor.
The dorms surrounding the castle were where the students lived. They had seven sections. With Violet being the lowest section and Red being the highest.
The order was according to the colours of the rainbow. Ambrose's token that Rex gave him had red written on it. Which means he belongs to the lowest section.
Following the directions, he quickly reached to his dorm. The red section was the biggest as most students lived there. There were thousands of people standing there in the ground ahead of the many buildings.

Ambrose looked at the buildings and knew that there was no way they could accommodate so many people. Which only meant on the thing that even today many would be expelled.
Many around him has also figured it out and looked at the front with a serious expression. Although hard to see. There was a platform in the front.
Ambrose couldn't spot Nelson either the two he met in the carriage. He was surrounded by unknown faces.
As there were twenty thousand people present in the ground the noise was very loud. It was hard to hear what even the person next to you is saying.
However, suddenly silence spread over the crowd. A beam of light shined and then a muscular silhouette appeared in front of the platform in the front.
'Master Zoe.' Ambrose saw that the muscular guy was actually Zoe. He was holding a strange shaft in his hand with a floating red ruby on it.
Many around him looked at the ruby in reverence. They all looked from rich families.
"I will not waste any time of you guys. All of you have a token that I have given to you and it will soon show a number on it. The people close to each other will have the same numbers and they will be your team!"
"Your Identity Token will also give you your first mission now. You have to complete in just one week and teams that failed to do so can either pay the penalty or return to their respective towns and Villages! Caravans would be waiting for you at the end of this week!"
Zoe announced and then flashed the Red Ruby.
Suddenly everybody's tokens lit up and numbers started appearing on them. Ambrose looked at his token and saw that his number was 563 he looked around a saw a tall and thin man with luxurious clothing looking around.
He looked at Ambrose "563?" He asked.
Ambrose nodded.
The man smiled and came to him. "We are teammates now." He said.
Listing to his voice one boy and two girls came near them. "Coincidentally all of them had luxurious clothing on except Ambrose. He was the only one with crude linen clothes."
One of the boys that came near them was handsome and had red coloured hair. He also had a shiny earing on his left ear. He looked at them all with an arrogant expression.
"I am Constant. Don't drag me down with you all. He said and then looked at everyone. His eyes stopped at Ambrose for a bit and then moved on."
The tall guy looked at him and smiled. "I am Theo. Nice to meet you guys. I am proficient in making formations."
One of the girls in Golden dress with a halo-like crown on her forehead looked at them with an emotionless expression. "Vita. Can Heal." She said and then looked at the last girl.
The last girl with jet black hair. An emerald dress. Smiled at them. "I am Audrey Kelly. I can do archery." She said and then looked at Constant.
"Brother, please have some manners."
Constant looked at her and sighed. "I can use a sword." He said and then looked away.
Audrey looked at the rest and smiled. "I apologise for my brother's rude nature. However, I promise he is not a bad guy." She said.
"No worries," Theo said.
"I am Ambrose. And I can craft Armour." Ambrose said and smiled at the rest of them.
He didn't hide it from them as he knew it would be very hard for him to complete the missions without using his mecha. And this was his team. He was supposed to be with them at least for the next six years if they passed.
One day truth would be revealed. It was better today then latter.
All of them nodded at him and then looked at their tokens again. "Bring a BlackStray head." All of them looked at each other and nodded.
"We are a team now and to pass this mission, we need to have good teamwork. As all of you know a BlackStray head is not easy to get. So let us work together and complete this mission." Theo said and looked at everyone.
Constant looked at him and sneered. "A BlackStray head? I can do it alone. Just follow me silently." He said and started moving out of the gate.
Audrey apologetically smiled at all of them and also followed Constant. Ambrose and Vita silently followed. While Theo sighed and finally gave up.

The Edge of Endless
Due to some unforseen and significant life events, this story will be on hiatus for a time. Reborn into a strange but familiar world, Alex makes it his mission to uncover the mysteries of governments, gods, and the arcane realm known only (and inaccurately) as the Unending Depths. Slowly but surely, he grows in ability and meets new and interesting people. tEoE is an epic fantasy LitRPG with a focus on plot, writing, and hopefully original twists on the standard formula of 'MC picks cool class, levels up'. Give it a read if any of the following appeals to you: > 3000-5000 words per chapter, chapters released at least once per week, usually several times. Expect good grammar. > Story focus on illusions, secrets, and traps (along with the usual combat and character stuff). > Progression fantasy, but one where progress is meant to feel earned, moderately paced, and reasonable. Some advantages, but not big, unfair ones. > If a random reader can work out that putting a big rock in a bag of holding, lifting it, and then dropping the rock is free energy, then so could an adventurer who's owned a bag of holding for twenty years. Side characters have brains too. > Blue boxes! Levels! [Classes]! [Skills]! Loot! > No uncomfortable sexist undertones. Ambivalent about including relationships. Definitely no harems. There are a number of arcs planned and this will be ongoing for some time. I am very appreciative of the kind reviews and comments left so far.
