《Mecha In Cultivation World》39- Split up

However, before the red flash could reach him, Edgar's body moved sideways dodging the flash quickly. There was a sneaky smile on his face. "You are just pathetic. You can never compete with me. Your father is inferior to mine and now you are too. It's in our blood."
Constant gritted his teeth and placed his sword in front of his chest, ready to attack at any moment.
Audrey also strained her bow and pointed it at Edgar. "Give that Beast Core back to us." Moving a step back her eyes suddenly turned black and the bird that was sitting on her shoulder flew up in the sky patrolling the area.
"She could connect with her beast." Theo was getting one shock after another.
He has come to this place thinking he would be the leader of a group and lead them towards victory. However, as time was passing he starts to lose his confidence. Now only Ambrose was remaning that was weaker and less knowledgable than him.
"Connect?" Ambrose looked at Theo.
Smiling gently at him Theo explained. "She could see through the eyes of her beast. That would increase her accuracy as that bird could see a large area form top." Theo looked up with a jealous expression.
Ambrose nodded. Everyone has their speciality. He thought he would stand out with his mechas, however, now looking at all this he got some confidence back.
However, he still didn't wanna meddle with their business. He has only met them just a few hours ago and currently both Constant and Audrey were fighting one of their family members.
'I will only bring my mecha if things get serious.' He decided and then looked at Blaze Jinx. She finally opened her eyes seeing that trouble was brewing and slowly moved away from Audrey and jumped towards him.
Ambrose gritted his teeth and wanted to berate this lazy thing. However, he knew that it was useless. The cat came and sat between his legs.
Theo on the other hand moved on his green horse and took out a sphere. He was preparing to help his teammates. Ambrose nodded, he had a good impression of him.
His eyes then looked at Vita who also preferred to stay silent, however, he could see a bow in her hand and her eyes were colourful. This means she was prepared for the worst. As he was looking at her she also moved her eyes at him and raised her brows. Her lips moved silently and he could tell what she meant.

Ambrose's lips twitched looking at her. She was calling him 'pervert' again. He just moved back and looked away. However, he could still feel her gaze at him. Squatting down he pretended to play with his cat. He didn't want her to call him 'pervert' again in front of everybody.
"Oh ooo, hahaha... Sister Audrey, why so serious? I have just picked up a measly beast core. Look at you getting all worked up. I am afraid you will cry like a baby if I don't give it back." Edgar and his team started laughing at Audrey.
All of them took out their beasts and weapons too. They were ready to fight with them.
Seeing that the conversation was going nowhere, Edgar smiled and backed up. "We will be going now. However, remember that I will always be watching you from shadows and anything you guys catch, I will steal it." His eyes glared at a Constant for a bit and after a few seconds, their figures disappeared in the jungle.
Audrey spat and moved back. Her face was red with anger. "Sorry guys, it's because of us that you have to suffer all this." She bowed towards the team.
"Don't worry, since we are a team now, we should help each other out. That is how we form good teamwork. Don't worry, we will not let them take our stray heads." Theo came down from his horse and consoled her.
While Vita placed her bow back and even her eyes turned normal. She just moved towards Audrey and stood beside her silently.
Constant just looked away. "We need a plan." He looked at the group again.
Everybody looked at him with shocked expressions. They never thought Constant out of all of them would want to follow a plan. He seems like the type of guy who would rather die alone than to ask a favour.
His image turned a little better in everybody's eyes.
"I think he is right, we will need a plan if we want to pass this exam with that guy on our head," Theo said and looked at Vita for her response.
She just nodded.
"What plan should we follow?" Audrey asked looking at Theo, he looked like the most sensible guy in the group.
"I don't know yet. I think we should all help each other and come up with an idea."

Theo than finally looked at Ambrose. "Do you have anything to say?" He asked.
Ambrose let out a breath and nodded. "I think we should split."
"Split? Are you crazy? Haven't you seen that guy? Even if we attack together he would easily be able to dodge it with his Dark Beast. There is no way we can handle him one on one," Constant said.
"Well, that guy seems to have a problem with you. So if we split up and hunt Strays, then there is a chance we could get our hands on one. And our whole team will be saved then."
Theo nodded at his words. "That seems like a good idea."
"Good Idea? How are we supposed to catch a stray head alone? Those are powerful creatures and it's no easy task to capture them. And this jungle is too dangerous for one person to traverse through."
"Well, we can form different teams. You and Audrey can be together and We three will be a different team. As the guy is targeting you we can finish the job behind his back easily." Theo suggested.
Constant turned silent after listening to his words.
Audrey also nodded. "That is the best thing we could do. As that bastard is after us, he will not come after you, however, his lackeys could still be a problem."
"Don't worry about them." Vita voiced in and turned silent again like she was not present there.
"Hmm... That's a good idea. Let's follow the plan and again meet up at the Academy. I hope you can do it." Audrey said and bowed apologetically again.
"Ok, lets split." Constant started moving ahead and behind him, Audrey also moved with quick steps.
"Take care guys." She said and then disappeared into the woods with her brother.
Theo sighed and looked at Vita and Ambrose. "Great idea brother." He said while placing his hand over Ambrose's back. "Let's move."
Vita nodded and started moving behind Theo slowly.
Ambrose stood there for a few second and then he eyes looked at a dark corner in the woods for a few seconds and then he ignored it. Sighing he picked up the lazy cat in his embrace and started following both Theo and Vita slowly.
"Bro, I need you to do something for me." He whispered near the Jinx.
However, the cat just ignored him and kept sleeping.
"Cough... One Beast core." He said, however, there was no change in the cat's reaction.
Nerves popped up on his forehead. "Ok, two martial master beast cores."
However, there was still no response from the cat. It was like someone has fed her a lot of sedatives. Ambrose even tired to shook her, however, her eyelids didn't move a bit. Finally, after a few more tries, he took a frustrate sigh.
"Ok, Ten Beast Cores." Just as he said so like she has woken up from being dead. Her whole body came alive and she quickly stood upon his shoulder. And even started rubbing her head in his face affectionately.
"Pervert, even trying to bribe your cat. How shameless." Suddenly he heard a sweet voice and nerves popped on his head. Slowly turning his head around he looked at Vita with a wary smile.
"It's not what you are thinking."
"Oh... I can see that. Trust me if I found you doing something perverted to this little thing, I will kill you."
"Can I ask you something?"
"I don't answer to the lord of perversion." She said and moved ahead.
Ambrose almost coughed out blood at her words. 'Did she just called me lord of perversion? Who does she think she is?' He thought and wanted to beat the girl up. However, decided against it. She may very well accuse him of something worst than a pervert.
'I will teach her a lesson one day.' He decided and quietly started moving behind them.
He then looked at the cat again and sighed. "I can't give you the beast cores right now. However, you can use this to get as many as you want." He whispered and placed the Monkey arms around her front leg.
The Jinx first had a suspicions expression on her face, however, after some time she cooled down.
'Looks like she could sense the power in my Ring.' He was not sure, however, that could be one of the reason and other reason maybe she believed in him. However, after looking at her face, second reason seemed far fetched.

House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

Even though it was your work that brought the child to this world but you will never know the end of that child. Even if you're the one who teaches him, molds him and make his personality but that child will still learn some things on his own. That child will still form his own personality and thoughts. Similarly, I might right this story but eventually the story will move on its own and I would merely write it down. The rules that would be created of this world I shall create will be of its own which myself as a write, I cannot change. I hope you stay with us till the end of this journey.
