《Mecha In Cultivation World》45- Golden Beast Parts

Looking at the spirit stone on the cat's tongue, Ambrose was astonished. He couldn't believe that this troublemaker would be so considerate. He knew that both of them were connected and she could read his emotions. However, for gluttony like her to save a precious high-quality spirit stone was not something he could comprehend.
"Can I take this?" He asked standing at the side of a pathway towards the market. As many of the students previously present here were gone for the assessment it was almost empty. So no one saw him stupidly talking to his cat.
The Jinx looked at his unbelieving expression and her eyes turned nonchalant. Her tongue slowly started to move back in her mouth. It was as if she was saying. 'If you don't want it then I will take it back.'
Ambrose quickly moved his hand with an awkward smile and grabbed the High-Grade Spirit Stone from her tongue. This one stone was equal to ten thousand low-quality spirit stones, which would help him unlock his next mecha.
He imagined that he would need much more time to unlock his next mecha, however, thanks to that half-fae dropping her stone and this cat taking it up, he was able to get his hands on one. This was perfect for him, as now he would be able to unlock his next mecha and his life in this place would be much easier.
'I can't always rely on my Mecha, I have to get strong too.' Remembring previous events with that Half Fae, if not for Vita appearing on time, he would have been dead or at least heavily injured. He decided to give his best in the academy and become as strong as he could. Because in just the past few days he has encountered one monster after another.
First, it was Constant and Vita and then that Half-Fae girl. After that Vita said that even Audrey was not normal. Both brother and sister were hiding some greater power form the group and Ambrose was sure that even Vita has not revealed her full power. In front of her, he always feels helpless like she could read his mind.
"Thanks, little buddy, I will tell mom to cook some good food for you today," Ambrose said to the cat again, however, to his surprise she was already asleep on his head.

Looking at the bluestone in his palm, he smiled. 'I have to get my mother inside of the wall.' He then clenched the stone. For that to happen, he would need a substantial monthly income of at least six high-quality spirit stones per month. Five for the rent of the house and one for the extra expenses like food and clothing. For that to achieve he would have to think of a business.
He took in a breath and after placing the Spirit Stone in his mecha system he started moving towards the market. He didn't withdraw the mecha instantly as he first wanted to sell the dead bodies and meet with Thalia and Uncle Geis.
After moving through many alleyways and roads he reached the market in twenty minutes. This place was not actually the market of Golden Falcon city as on every road there were shops and stalls, this was just the most crowded place in the city and he saw this place when he came to the academy.
Many people were going around him, some were couples and some were in groups, many were solo too, just like him. He even saw some students from the academy, but they were rare. Most of these people were walking just like him, however, some even travelled in small carriages.
Ambrose looked around for the shop to sell his Rhinos, however, he was not sure which shop he should go to. Most of the people there ignored him because of his poor clothing and no shop owners tried to welcome him.
Sighing he slowly moved to look for a shop related to the animals. On his way, he saw many shops, some were selling weapons, some artifacts. He spotted poison shops and medicine shops too. There were restaurants, hot baths and massage parlours. Shops for clothes and many related ones.
"I wish mother was here." He tried to talk to his cat as he has no one to talk to and was feeling left out, however, even the cat ignored him and continued to sleep. "I should have asked Vita for help." He wondered if that mysterious girl would have helped him.
Finally, he saw a shop that made him stop in his tracks. "Rennin Beast Shop." It was the name of the shop. It was more like a big building with three floors. However, no beasts were seen from the outside, Ambrose could only spot a big reception with assistants talking to customers. He also saw a pamphlet pasted outside of the shop.

Ambrose moved towards the pamphlet, "Buy Best quality controlled beasts in the whole of the Golden Eagle province. High grade, easily tamable beasts!" All of them were written in big flashy words to attract the attention of passing people. At the end of the pamphlet, there was also another line written, "We also buy Controlled Beasts at the best price in the city." Words were small and not so flashy compared to the previous words, however, they were still there.
"Controlled beast..." Ambrose contemplated for a few seconds. "Should I sell controlled beasts as my business?" He was sure that he will not sell his mechas no matter how useless they get. As they were unique items for this world, selling them could cause problems for him. He was even reluctant of giving them to others if not in dire need. However, he may give a mecha to his mother.
He was thinking of selling controlled beasts, however, he doesn't know how to control a wild one. "I hope there is a class at the academy that that teaches how to control the different beast." He wanted to learn this skill as it would help him in many prospects.
As if somebody asked him, what he was efficient in, he could tell beast taming and not armour crafting. He can also do business with them and he can also help his friends like Nelson. He can even send some back to his Village or give some to Uncle Geis. It would release a big load from his shoulder.
'I wonder if Nelson would pass the assessment?'
He was lucky that he teamed up with the likes of constant and Vita because with them he didn't needed his Mecha to complete the mission. However, he was not sure if Nelson got a good team. Worse if he got a hard mission.
"I can't do anything about it, so I just have to wait." He prayed that Nelson passes this test because he deserved it and he was even passionate about it. He still remembers how excited he was when he got his Jinx, and in the carriage to the Kingdom, he was the most excited and asked my question about the Academy.
Backing up from the shop he started moving ahead. As it was evening time, the lights started to sparkle much more in the market and different kinds of scents were blanked all over the place. The smell of good food and the perfume of the ladies walking by all mixed gave the atmosphere a unique aura.
After moving just a few steps, another shop caught Ambrose's eye. It was a meat shop and it was even bigger than the Controlled Beast Shop. "Golden Beast Parts." Was the name of the shop and from just one look, Ambrose knew that this shop would buy his Rhinos.
He slowly moved in the place, although his clothes were not good, no one chased him away, however, no one also addressed him. Everyone seems to ignore him. There were many counters in the shop and people were buying and selling stuff. Ambrose looked around and found a free assistant. He was a skinny guy wearing a blue uniform. He also has a small black goatee on his face.
When he saw Ambrose coming towards him, a smile formed on his face. "How can I help you?" He asked.
When Ambrose listened to his words, he was surprised at first. He thought he would be treated badly because of his clothes. However, the only bad thing that happened was, he got ignored at first. 'These guys know how to do business.' Ambrose thought and smiled back.
"I want to sell some beasts." He said. The skinny guy looked around him and only then noticed a beast bag on his waist. His expressions got even more humble. He thought Ambrose was just some bumpkin at first, however, according to shop rules, they can't treat anyone harshly even if he is a beggar, this rule was from the time the shop was in the city.
And not only this shop, but almost every shop in the town also has this policy. Because no one knows when a powerful eccentric guy comes to their shops dressed horribly. This policy has saved many of the shops from getting destroyed in past.
"Sir, can you please follow me?"

Twisted Skies
After his master's death, Thurain leaves his rural home behind and travels to Heliana, the cramped city founded on the scientific progress of cultivation. Under a fake name, he aims to enter the Elemental Path Sect, the place of his master's death, to find both his killers, and closure. However, surrounded by the strange and horrible wonders of Heliana and its mixture of heroes and villains, his master's death is not the only murder he may have to solve. --- First attempt at a xianxia novel from me. To shake things up from the usual formula, the setting is more steam-punk than you might expect, and there are elements of murder mystery mixed in with the standard formula (though I'm not entirely sure yet how far to go with it.) I wrote this a while ago for NaNoWriMo, only posting it now for various reasons. Enjoy. Also, cover is highly temporary. I'll probably replace it with something nicer eventually.
