《Forsaking Reality》Chapter 60: Encounter In The Dantion Region

Red Cloud Sect
Sect Leader Fu stood on top of a hill looking at the sect below her. She watched Peizhi Xiuying and Pulong Chu stand around with blank faces. It wasn’t strange that they were in the same place that they had been standing in before. That was because the events that had just transpired were just too fast for them.
It wasn’t that Elder Jiandan Zhou and Sect Leader Fu were moved too fast, even if Elder Jiandan Zhou moved at his fastest speed the two girls would still be able to see him. The fact was, Sect Leader Fu created her own dimension and had placed herself and Elder Jiandan Zhou inside it. From the point of view of the girls, it looked as if Elder Jiandan Zhou was in the middle of an attack when, suddenly, he coughed up blood then disappeared.
That was all that the two saw in front of them. While the fight was going on they felt tremendous pressure but then it vanished. Things were back to normal, as if nothing had happened at all. After a while the two looked at each other deeply.
“Peizhi Xiuying. Are… are you okay? Did you get hurt?” Pulong Chu managed to start up a conversation. Even as she talked, her voice trembled slightly.
“Ye… yes! I’m okay, but what about yourself? You were actually grabbed by him, did he hurt you?” Peizhi Xiuying also squeezed out to the best of her ability.
“I’m fine. He didn’t do anything else to me. I’m glad that you’re alright though.” Pulong Chu calmed down and smiled.
“Why did you protect me? Knowing that that man was absurdly stronger than both of us. You wouldn’t have stood a chance if he were to attack you, yet you actually stood up for me. Why?” Peizhi Xiuying was really perplexed by this. She would have found it much more normal for nobody but an Elder to show up, but instead saw Pulong Chu approach.
“I don’t know either. I just kind of went into action without thinking. Maybe it’s because you are a fellow member, or that you are a really kind person. Anyways, I just don’t know why I tried to protect you.” Pulong Chu was just as confused as Peizhi Xiuying.
They were both silent for a moment. Eventually, Peizhi Xiuying spoke out saying, “Well I should repay you for your kindness. How about I take you out to eat?” She suggested.
“No no. There’s no need to go through all of that trouble. I’m fine really.” Pulong Chu tried to dissuade her.

Peizhi Xiuying frowned a bit and puffed her cheeks. She wouldn’t take no for an answer. “Humph no no that won’t do at all. We’re fellow cabin ranked disciples so we might as well get to know each other. Come come I know a good place in town that sells the best hot dogs.” She grabbed onto Pulong Chu’s arm and began to guide her into Purple Sky City.
Pulong Chu just sighed internally and accepted her fate. Peizhi Xiuying had a reputation for always getting what she wanted no matter what, so she just went along and saved herself the trouble of resisting.
On a small island inside a cave chamber, Akata stood in front of a man who was radiating an aura of death. The man was covered in vines and had hundreds of runes surrounding him. This man was Great Lord Taple, the true leader of the Scarlet Tiger Tribe. His life force was in serious danger of being extinguished and taken over by a foreign one. Akata was here to help and get rid of the foreign life force.
Akata sat down in front of Great Lord Taple and closed his eyes. “I’m going to need for you to not resist at all.” Akata said slowly and quietly. He was calming his mind down to an extreme degree in order to have complete control over his nature energy.
As soon as he had walked into the room, he had sensed the enormous amount of life force that had belonged to the plant cultivator. He knew that if he wasn’t careful, then that amount of life force could potentially harm his own. Because of this, Akata wanted to make ample preparation to deal with the life force inside of Great Lord Taple.
“Alright. I won’t resist.” Great Lord Taple spoke. He wasn’t letting Akata know but instead was informing his son, Lord Tafei. As soon as he spoke the pressure in the room decreased dramatically. Great Lord Taple became as still as a statue and he looked completely lifeless.
Akata went straight to work. His nature energy mixed in with his plant cultivation base power rushed into Great Lord Taple’s body. The energy immediately crashed into the foreign life force of the plant cultivator. The life force completely filled Great Lord Taple’s body and invaded every single part of him. When Akata encountered it, he instantly felt the denseness of it.
‘This life force is way more dense than that of Great Priest Bambe’s. If I’m not careful in absorbing this, it could harm me instead. But… if I can take all of it as my own, my plant cultivation base will grow immensely more powerful. It could even surpass my mortal cultivation base.” Akata mused to himself.

He was calm and excited at the same time. This was because he had never heard of somebody ever having more than one cultivation base before. Not only will he have two cultivation bases, but they will be at a level that surpassed most of the disciples at the Red Cloud Sect. He could eclipse all the people there and become the 1st ranked disciple.
‘Once I become the 1st ranked disciple, then I can start my journey of reaching the pinnacle of strength in this world.’ He still wanted to keep his promise to Peizhi Xiuying of one of them reaching the pinnacle of strength. He would always remember this promise and hold it dear in his heart forever.
Akata’s nature energy rushed throughout Great Lord Taple’s body like a raging river. It flooded his body and quickly absorbed the foreign life force. There was so much of it that it took Akata nearly five hours to finish up absorbing it. But thanks to it, Akata broke through to the 3rd Grade of the Seed Rank.
He felt more attune to nature and could feel his nature energy and nature sense grow rapidly. Akata felt that he had much better control of his nature energy. Even though he felt this, he wasn’t focused on in full. His mind was still worried about about the foreign life force of the plant cultivator within Great Lord Taple’s body. Now, Akata was moving on to the dantion region.
The dantion region alone held more foreign life force than Great Priest Bambe’s whole body. Akata’s nature energy rushed into the dantion region and madly absorbed the foreign life force. With his increase in cultivation base, the process of absorbing the life force became much easier for Akata to complete. In fact he even became a little relaxed.
Inside the dantion region he thought to inspect it a bit. This would probably be the only time that he had to fully inspect such a strong being without any resistance at all. In the dantion region of Great Lord Taple, Akata saw a scene similar to his own. There was a large piece of land in the middle of an ocean. On the land there was an enormous sleeping white tiger.
The white tiger had two long tails that were about a third of the length of the body. It had sharp claws and two saber teeth. The tiger was very mysterious. As it laid there, it seemed to pass through time, sometimes it felt ancient and other times it was as if it had just been born. The tiger kept passing through different times as its hair grew longer and sometimes became short. Sometimes, the tiger, would even flicker to become a baby but immediately go back again.
‘What a weird cultivation base. Is this what all beasts have or is it just unique to the Scarlet Tigers?’ Akata was intrigued by the scene but after a bit more time he put it to the back of his mind. ‘Okay, time to get back to work.’ Once again he focused all of his energy on absorbing the life force of the plant cultivator.
Akata’s nature energy approached the sleeping white tiger on the large piece of land. It radiated an unbearable amount of pressure. This was the cultivation base of Great Lord Taple. Clearly it was a powerful one but the life force that invaded it, made it weak beyond compare.
The nature energy Akata used turned into small wisps and made its way toward the sleeping white tiger. The wisps of nature energy moved fast and made it possible to ease the pressure that was crushing at it. That was because the pressure wouldn’t be focused completely on one thing and would split apart and focus on the wisps.
As the wisps came closer to the sleeping white tiger, Akata got a clearer image of it. He could now see patches of green moss like substance on the fur of the tiger. And the large piece of land was completely covered in the green substance. The substance itself held a huge amount of life force within it that Akata could feel without even being that close to it.
‘This is going to be a bit tricky to deal with.’ Akata mused to himself. He controlled the wisps to fly toward the land and merge in with the ground. The wisps then quickly swept through the land and absorbed the life force. Akata started off on one end of the land and made his way around toward the other end. Once that happened he would then have his nature energy sweep toward the center where the sleeping tiger was.
But something unexpected happened as Akata was proceeding along. As Akata was absorbing the life force he heard a snort within the dantion region. This completely caught him off guard. He didn’t stop what he was doing but instead moved slower.
“Trying to absorb me eh? Well you’re not taking me down that easily!” A voice sounded throughout the dantion region. All of a sudden the land started to shake.

The Solstice Wars
In the grey-cloaked cityscape of modern London, student William Whiteswift has two secrets: the Fae walk among humanity, and they are just as vulnerable as us. His childhood was filled with them; they spawned nightmares and episodes, dreams and obsessions. The nightmares remain, of course, but the fae are his normal. Now, he heals them, for William is gifted. When he saves a faerie -- a humanoid fae -- from an injury he can’t explain, William is forced to let her stay. Finally, he may have taken on more than he can handle; Ainsel could uproot his life in seconds. Instead, she cracks a Pandora’s box of mysteries: someone just flipped her home on its head. And because of that, she did something unspeakable. And somehow, she doesn’t want to hurt him. The longer she stays, though, the crueler his nightmares grow. Worse, governments hide secrets, too: they know of faeries. To them, all fae are monsters fueled by solstices and equinoxes. As the autumn equinox approaches, the culling agency COURT hurries to track Ainsel down. With teams across the United Kingdom and Ireland -- iron-strong despite the region’s history -- they are nearing success. A world away, their country wounded, the faerie leaders hunger for justice. In the looming shadows of war and of Ainsel’s mistake, can a human and a faerie protect each other against their own kind? Could their plight mend rifts between bitter nations and bitterer people? Or will it, like past attempts at peace, shatter? Quick note! I hope you all enjoy the Irish (Irish Gaelic) words here and there! All are defined or explained within the text. This is my chance to show off speaking it at least somewhat decently. Still learning. ;D -K
