《Forsaking Reality》Chapter 131: Devastation

“Experience the power of my kudzu vine!” Akata yelled out. The golden kudzu vines emitted a weird shrill sound as they all of a sudden turned into an azure color. Akata lifted an eyebrow because he felt a weird feeling coming. Then, just as they turned azure, they started to consume everything they covered over. The grass that was on the ground before dried up and wilted into nothing. The various rocks that littered the ground eroded at a fast rate until they were nothing but dust. The trees, bushes, flowers, soil—they all were consumed by the kudzu vine.
Noluck and Akata were both taken aback from this. This arm was bestowed upon by nature, yet when used, it would destroy it? This was Akata’s first time trying out this skill so he didn’t no the effects of it at all. But after seeing this he nearly blanched and stopped it. This wasn’t supposed to happen.
These two weren’t the only ones that were in shock. Peizhi Xiuying, Pulong Chu, and Jiandan Fuza stood in shock, staring at the field of azure vines. They couldn’t believe all of the destruction that had just occurred in the blink of an eye. And it came from Akata!
Jiandan Fuza’s shock only lasted for a bit before he nearly laughed out crazily. “Ahaha! Now that is some khaotic power right there! I have to see more of it, show me more!” As he laughed, white lightning danced around his body, bringing a chilling sensation to the area. It struck at the surrounding vines and as it did, they grew darker and darker.
Akata wanted to fight back but he didn't know what was happening with his vines. As soon as they had turned azure it was as if they were out of his control. He had no idea what to do right now. Luckily the vines couldn't spread out further otherwise there would be even more destruction. Akata had always had a passion for nature, but ever since he gained a plant cultivation base his passion grew to a whole new level. Almost as if nature was his child and he had to take care of it. This was a feeling all plant cultivators would have and Akata was no different.
Akata looked out at the field and his face soon turned into one of determination. He fully rotated his plant cultivation base and spread out his nature sense upon the azure vines. He nature sense was powerful, especially when he used it in conjunction with his plant cultivation base. The nature sense became rough and battered against the azure vines with a powerful intent. This was Akata’s intent. He was forcing his will into the vines to forcefully take control of the vines. If this didn’t work then he would just have to destroy it.

Akata spoke through his nature sense with a booming and enforcing voice. Nobody could hear him speak but the plants and the rest of nature seemed moved by his will. “Heed my command! Follow my will.” All of nature went still as even the wind didn’t blow anymore. The most still of all, however, was the azure vine. Everything went silent in an instant.
The azure vine seemed to be struggling to break free from Akata’s nature intent and looked to be on the verge of freeing itself from it. Akata gave a cold snort and his eyes flashed with a gold and crimson tint. A huge explosion of power erupted through the nature sense and quickly calmed down the azure vine.
“You’re under my control.” Akata said calmly through his nature sense. The azure vine submitted quietly and soon retreated back to Akata’s plant arm. Akata looked at his plant arm and saw that it was still golden, but his vine was now an eerie azure color. Akata looked closely at it for a moment and then turned his head away.
Upon looking at the field his eyes widened. There was literally nothing in the area. It looked as if a giant meteor had came through and thoroughly destroyed that single space of 299 meters. Not even Akata’s Astral Obliteration could destroy so much so thoroughly with just one attack.
The trees, soil, grass, bushes, rocks, and other things in the area had all disappeared without a trace. This was a kind of destruction on a fundamental level. In fact, this was power that couldn’t even comprehended on their level of power, let alone be used. Not even Akata could understand what kind of power was needed to destroy so much so quickly.
‘I couldn’t control that vine at all. It was like it had a mind of its own. There’s no possible way that I could have the power to do something like this. I don’t even think the Elders can do something of this level so quickly.’ Akata was frightened of this. This was just too much power for him to handle. Luckily, nobody was injured in that berserk attack or worse—dead.
Jiandan Fuza looked at the desolate ‘field’ and couldn’t help but shudder. Even he couldn’t comprehend this type of power. He looked at it for a long moment before turning his head to Akata. “In my life I had always grown up to be a normal basic kind of person so that I could cultivate in the ways of my clan. But I always wanted more khaotic power. Something that was overwhelmingly power and random. This drive actually altered the way that I think and now when I get into a good fight I lose myself and become wild and crazy. But the power that you just used… I… I can’t handle that. I wouldn’t want to use that kind of power.”

Jiandan Fuza was so shaken that he could barely speak clearly. A vision of him being covered by that azure vine and then disappearing from this life kept popping into his head. After another long moment he took a deep breath and then exited the field.
Akata just stood there befuddled. He didn’t know what to make of this situation. He had gained some good combat experience and figured out what his vine could do, but it was something he didn’t want to use. Sure it was strong, but he couldn’t control it. Not to mention the fact that the vine harmed nature; harming nature went against his moral code.
“Akata… What was that just now?” Peizhi Xiuying asked quietly. Pulong Chu looked at him, expectant of an answer as well. They both looked at Akata awaiting for his answer to the question.
“I don’t really know. This is the first time that I actually used this.” Akata didn’t really know what to say himself. He didn’t even understand it so how could he explain it to others?
Pulong Chu gave him a long look then sighed as she exited the field as well. Peizhi Xiuying gave Akata a look as well before exiting. This left Akata all alone.
He looked at his arm for a long moment. “What was that Noluck?”
“I don’t know. I’ve never seen anything like that before. I know that nature bestowed you with this arm but it wouldn’t allow for this arm to destroy nature. That would be contradicting its own role. You should hold on with using that power for now until we know more about it.” Noluck said solemnly.
Akata stared at his azure vine that was wrapped around his golden plant arm for a long moment. After that he closed his eyes and disappeared himself. When he opened his eyes again he was sitting on top of the bed.
Pulong Chu was on her bed with her eyes closed. Clearly, she was training by herself at the moment. This was her first time on the third floor after all. Jiandan Fuza was gone from the room.
“Jiandan Fuza was already gone when we came back.” Peizhi Xiuying said. She was seated on her bed that was next to Akata’s. Giving him a deep look she smiled. “Don’t worry. So you have a power that you aren’t used to yet, just keep training in it and you’ll eventually learn to have it under your control.” She said warmly.
Akata gave a slight smile and nodded. “Thanks Peizhi Xiuying. I think I’m going to practice some more right now by myself.”
“Mn. Okay. Be sure to come back out though because the Body Spirit Exam and Red Cloud Sparring Day are coming soon.” Peizhi Xiuying said.
“Mn.” Akata nodded once more then closed his eyes to go into his own mental realm. He appeared in a desolate area. There was no grass, plants, or any kind of vegetation in the area. Akata surveyed this land for a while before nodding his head.
‘This way nature won’t be harmed as much.’ Akata mused to himself. He then held out his golden arm and looked at the azure vine that was wrapped around it. He took in a deep breath and his eyes became completely focused.
With a wave of his hand the azure vine unwrapped itself and then surrounded his body. It seemed to be moving to his command but in reality, Akata had no control over it whatsoever. The only thing he could do was force it to come back to him and release it. What happened in between wasn’t up to him at all.
Akata frowned at the vine. ‘Why can’t I control it? I felt like I had control over it when it was golden but since it turned azure it hasn’t been listening to my will at all.’ Akata soon became frustrated. ‘Humph. I’ll make it listen to my command.’
