《Forsaking Reality》Chapter 166: Monster Enchanter

Akata was no fool. In fact, he couldn’t even be considered a genius either. He was much more talented than those so-called geniuses around the world. Although he didn’’t know if his enchantment was good enough, he knew that he had succeeded in making one. With that, his mind instantly went to work to improve his skills. Countless ideas were forming within his mind as he was currently thinking about how to advance in this field faster.
The Prismatic Sound Enchantment glittered resplendently. It looked like a rune but fundamentally it wasn’t one at all. While both were made from cores and had similar outer appearances, the inner workings and uses of them were completely different.
A rune was meant for short-term work, meaning it was used mostly for combat purposes directly. Enchantments, on the other hand, were meant to increase a person’s strength in the long-term. For instance, a fire rune could be made and, no matter what its purpose was, it would transform into fire. However, there wasn’t such a thing as just a fire enchantment. Enchantments had to be given orders. A fire enchantment could be ordered to increase fire resistance, boost fire-related attacks, nullify fire in a certain area. There were many things enchantments could do with fire as the basis. This was what made them fundamentally different from runes.
Runes were meant for offensive and defensive measures in combat or other similar areas. Enchantments were support items. This was why enchanting was seen as a profession, much like how pill concocting, alchemy, and artificing were seen as professions.
Akata wanted to become great in this field and therefore he decided to put his all into it. His mind was swarming with different methods to make and use enchantments.
‘I never knew enchanting could be this broad. There’s simply no end to all the possibilities enchanting can bring. I’ll learn a lot more once I start using many different enchantments.’ With a thought Akata brought the Prismatic Sound Enchantment that was in the air in front of him. With a flash of light, the enchantment embedded itself into Akata’s black cloak.
Enchantments weren’t like runes where they could be used immediately after creation. They first had to be put into an item so as to channel its power through that item to be used. The core of the enchantment was actually a sort of formation. This formation would imprint itself onto the item and then draw in energy from the surroundings to power itself. Once this was done it could no longer be changed. If you wanted to improve or change it you would have to destroy the previous enchantment and then make a new one, or just add a whole new one altogether.
The Prismatic Sound Enchantment imprinted itself on Akata’s cloak and as it did a symbol suddenly formed on it. This symbol matched the core designs of the Prismatic Sound Enchantment. After a brief moment, the symbol flashed and then disappeared.

“Channel your energy into your cloak and once you do feel for the enchantment, try to activate it and see what happens.” Noluck began to pay close attention to see what Akata was doing.
Without delay, Akata began to gather his energy onto his cloak. It didn’t really matter what energy Akata used on his cloak, as long as it possessed might. Because of this he could use divine energy, nature energy, or even energy from his bloodline. But energy such as mental energy didn’t have might, as it could only affect him and not the outside world.
The Prismatic Sound Enchantment symbol flashed on Akata’s cloak and as it did a wave of energy swept out of it. That wave of energy swept out more than 500 meters in an instant and kept on increasing in range. Each time that wave passed some place, Akata would become astonished. That was because he would be able to hear everything in the circumference of that wave. Eventually the wave stopped expanding, at this point it had reached 1,000 meters out. Within these thousand meters, Akata could hear everything that was going on. Not that there was much going on anyways since it was his room.
He could hear the air whistling, the leaves rustling, the branches swaying, the grass waving, and even footsteps of the various magic constructs in the area. It was a whole new level of hearing for Akata and he was greatly astonished by it.
“Is this the power of the Prismatic Sound Enchantment? It’s simply amazing. I can hear everything within 1000 meters of me.” Akata praised.
“Ah it’s just a measly 1000 meters. Once your strength enhances and you’re able to wield more powerful energy this enchantment will be able to let you hear everything within a thousand miles.” Noluck said with complete confidence.
While being astonished was being astonished, Akata knew he couldn’t just play around with the enchantment all day. Eventually he set his mind on the enchantment he had to make in order to open the Master Enchanting Guide.
The enchantment on top of the book was truly top-tier. It was one of the best enchantments that an Apprentice Enchanter could make. But even so, Akata didn’t feel like it was all that impossible to make.
After a bit of preparation and adjustments to his Natural Binding Enchantment Zone, Akata gathered the elements needed to make the enchantment, and used his amazing sensitivity to control the elements as he wished.
Although he was a genius, he wasn’t a miracle man. Akata did fail a couple of times making the enchantment but each time he failed he would gain many more new insights. Thus, his success rate would improve substantially after each failure. After only failing two times, on the third try, Akata succeeded in making the enchantment.
This enchantment was called the Master Key Enchantment. It served no other purpose than to open things that were locked. Akata willed the enchantment to be placed on the Master Enchanting Guide book. When it was placed the book trembled slightly and then shone with a white light. The light covered over Akata and then disappeared. When the light disappeared the Master Key Enchantment was destroyed.

Akata picked the book up and inspected it again. He found out that it looked to still be locked. He placed his hand on top to try and pull the cover open. A white light sprang up from the book and washed over Akata once again. It’s speed was truly too fast. As Akata was about to pull open the locked cover the light came and vanished, when it vanished the book had unlocked. It was truly a weird mechanism.
Seeing that the book was now open to him, Akata was extremely giddy. He began to earnestly read the contents of the book. Like this, a few days passed by in the blink. There was plenty of information in the book that kept Akata occupied. There were even some actual enchantment techniques that Akata could train in.
After practising with some master-level enchantments, Akata felt as if he had a good enough grasp on enchanting. Taking what he now learned and applying it to his goal of reviving Noluck, Akata began to make a new enchantment.
Since he already had a basis of what he wanted to do, it wasn’t that hard to figure out what enchantment to make. It was a Soul Assimilation Enchantment. This would allow Noluck’s soul to fuse with the Illusory Phoenix Lily. In addition to the Soul Assimilation Enchantment, Akata also had to make a Conscious Awakener Enchantment, Divine Energy Gathering Enchantment, Nature Energy Gathering Enchantment, and a Life Preservation Enchantment. These were just the master-level enchantments he had to make. In addition to these, Akata also had to make many apprentice-level enchantments.
Creating all of these enchantments took plenty of time. A whole day was needed. Akata had to use materials in the enchantment room to gather the energy needed for some of the enchantments. He also failed making some enchantments but eventually he succeeded. Like this, his knowledge and skills in making enchantments rose by leaps and bounds. He could fully be considered a Master Enchanter now.
Over ten enchantments floated in front of Akata at the moment. Akata’s face was slightly pale but a smile could still be seen on it. He was truly happy with his work. It had taken a lot longer than he had planned but he finally had the capabilities to revive Noluck.
‘Amazing. This kid just started learning about enchanting a few days ago, yet he’s already at the level of a Master Enchanter. Usually one doesn’t reach that level until they step into the Second Rank. How monstrous is this kid. He simply more than a genius!’ Noluck was utterly shocked watching Akata. Akata had completely gotten used to enchantments and even stopped asking him for help. Akata’s skills were pretty much all self taught.
“Now I can begin.” Akata held the Illusory Phoenix Lily in his palm once more. The golden vines wrapped around it, giving it a feeling of boundless creation energy. With a thought, his soul rune spun around rapidly, giving off boundless soul energy.
“Noluck, you have to follow my plans otherwise this won’t work. I’ll use my soul energy to guide you to the Illusory Phoenix Lily. Once you make it there, I’ll seal you within and work to keep your life and consciousness intact. My part is easy but your part is much more difficult. You have to gather all the energy that you can into the flower and reconstruct it from the inside to make it your own body. Once you’ve completed that all you have to do is wait for the revival process to begin.”
Without saying another word, Akata began the reviving process. Using his soul energy, Akata guided Noluck to the Illusory Phoenix Lily that was sitting within the palm of his plant arm. Golden vines covered the flower and a boundless aura of creation entered inside of it. Once Noluck made it inside, Akata instantly became much more focused.
Woosh, woosh, woosh! The many enchantments that Akata made shot toward the flower in his palm. In an instant, the enchantments imprinted themselves on the flower, creating many symbols. In truth, these symbols had a name, they were called Enchanting Symbols and a person can identify an enchantment just by looking at them.
The Enchanting Symbols glittered on the surface of the flower. Divine energy and nature energy flowed toward the flower and formed a vortex above it. The two energies were drawn into the flower where they would help Noluck in preserving his power to reconstruct the inside of the flower.
At this point in time everything was going smoothly. The flow of energy was steady and nothing amiss was happening. Given half an hour, Noluck would have finished the reconstruction and would just have to wait for the flower to die and revive itself, thus giving Noluck a new body to his own.
“Crap! Akata, my soul energy isn’t enough to fully take over this flower. Help! Help! This flower my just take over my soul! If it does then I will definitely die!” Although Noluck didn’t like to ask for help, he was practically begging Akata right now.
“What?! Your soul energy isn’t enough? It’s going to take over your soul?” How could Akata not panic either? He was putting his all into this so he could revive Noluck, of course he wouldn’t want anything to go wrong.
Using his Soul Foresight he cast his perception into the Illusory Phoenix Lily. Upon looking in it his face changed. “This…” He was at a loss.

How a lame loner's life is not like normal dudes

Who's a Japanese 2nd Year High School student going throuh with an unusual problem. And that is the writer has not casted him in a good narrative story. The MC is going through serious depression and anxiety due to this and he doesn't even know what's going to happen with him in the near future. And of course this won't be narrated in the story because the author is a lazy hobo who has no will to write. *Lame unimportant information* *Please skip this part* Its a story of a character who happens to be the character of a writer. And that writer by the way is the character of another story. Basically its a story of that guy. And here the main character happens to be me (the main character here. I'm narrating the story for your information.). And its kind of sad that its a comedy rather than gruesome action fantasy or virtual reality story. But its an uncommon story which you'll never hear about or will never see be famous for some lame reasons. By the way the author doesn't even have any aspiration to imrpove his grammar so whack him for his terrible excuse of grammar. And also be prepared to wash your eyes with bleach after reading it. Bleach is gonna clean your eyes ;)
