Book 2 Chapter 13-Life Wager
Chelsie walks down from the balcony onto the stage followed by two servants. A handsome, tall, young man wearing a dark blue suit also walks down from the other balcony followed by what seems like two slaves. One of the slaves caught Lintian’s eyes. She was beautiful, with a light tan skin and black hair about his age. She looks vaguely familiar like he met her before. His thoughts then returns to the young man instantaneous and does not give the girl a second thought. Lintian assumed the young man was Michael Valiant. He looked to be about 15 or 16 to Lintian. He had a confident and arrogant look on his face. Truth to be told he did deserve to be arrogant since at the tender age of 16, he has already entered the seventh stage of the Master realm.
Lintian capped down his emotions.
Mr. Bryant continues, “We are here today to join together two exceptionally talented individuals. I would like everyone to give a round of applause to our couple of the year Chelsie Goddard and Michael Valiant.”
A loud round of thunderous applause echoed throughout the building. Lintian looks over to the Valiant family’s balcony and saw for a brief second a cunning smile on Michael’s father’s face. It was so brief that Lintian dismissed it due to the fact that right now he is emotionally bias and will think of anything to support himself. Especially since he was also influenced by Katrina’s view point. Therefore he dismissed it as his imagination.
“Everyone calm down now. Today we will celebrate her 15th birthday, and her engagement to one of the most talent young man of this generation. So without further ado I would like to begin,” Mr. Bryant shouted and then mutters to himself, “and get home to my cats.”
Lintian looks around and saw no one was as oppose to this as him. Lintian just couldn't explain. It was a feeling that just doesn’t seem to sit right with him. Some might say it feels a little bit like OCD. Alex on the other hand was still in a state of shock. No surprises there Lintian thought.
“Right now I will begin the formation that will legally bind their engagement and if anyone has a reason why these two should not be engaged speak your mind now or forever your peace.” Two formation rings appears on each of his hands follow by 10 smaller formation rings around it.

Should I or should I not? Lintian pondered to himself. Mhmm, this might actually work out.
“Boss go for it,” Kyuri’s voice echoes.
Sigh, I might as well. Better than regretting it right? Lintian assures himself.
Lintian raises his hand and shouted out, “I object to this engagement!”
Everyone’s head turn to stare at Lintian. Some were looks of curiosity. Other had dagger like glares. That last quote by Mr. Bryant was more of a formality than anything else. A rhetorical question. Katrina expressionless face twitched upward.
Chelsie’s father stared in amusement at Lintian’s action. Her mother was quite stun by his action.
The Valiant family were slightly piss but didn't really show it. Michael’s father was slightly amused too since no matter what Lintian was still a 15 year old boy. What can he possible do?
From all these stares Lintian’s face turns bright red. He normally stays hidden with a low profile so when out of no where he does something like this he could not help but feel embarrass.
Then a very strange phenomenon was going on in his brain and soul. His mind was actually calming down. The awkwardness he was experiencing from those people’s dagger like stares actually diminished. He only felt a slight pressure now compared with before.
“Why is that?” Mr. Bryant asked.
“Because he is not worthy enough,” Lintian shouts out.
After hearing that the whole room erupted with laughter. Who was this little boy kidding? Michael Valiant is one of the elites of the younger generation. What rights does a boy whose not even in the Master realm have to say who is worthy or not. Chelsie’s face was bright red and wanted to die right there and then. She knows he means well but the way he did it was just unsightly. Still it made her feel happy inside.
“I’m just saying that he is just simply too weak,” Lintian shrugs while saying it loudly enough for everyone to hear. “Like really come on your like 16 years old and your still only in the 7th stage of the Master Realm. What’s more? You still need your mommy and daddy to find you a girlfriend? Just sad really.”
Everyone at the scene frozen up and was left a bit speechless. They didn't know whether to cry or laugh. This kid was not even in the Master realm and was about the same age as Micheal Valiant said that he wasn’t worthy because he is only in the 8th stage of the Master Realm at the tender age of 16? Their gazes shift from the Patriarch of the Valiant family to the Goddard family.

“For all this suppose talent” Lintian air quoted, “you’re a frog in a well. If I am not worthy enough what makes a toad like you worthy enough?” Where did all this come from? Lintian wondered to himself. He basically spit fire these words out on the spot. That last sentence didn’t even make sense.
One of the guest spoke up and questioned Lintian, “then what makes a brat like you worthy enough to compare with our beloved Michael himself? I would say you are that toad in the well.”
“Trash will be trash,” Lintian shook his head back and forth, “can’t even talk to defend himself. Do you still need your mommy to breastfeed you?”
Lintian felt like he was on a roll.
“Hmph!” grunted Michael, “Pardon me, but you've obviously mistaken me for someone who gives a damn.”
Shit Lintian thought I don’t have a comeback for this one. Ah wait I got it. “I can tell that you're lying because your lips are moving?”
Ohhhh shit Alex thought, this is getting hot. Katrina was pretty amused by this and had a basic idea of where this was going.
“Haha, your lucky that today is a special day for Chelsie or else you be dead on the spot,” Michael said coolly.
“Wow I knew you were as strong as an ox but I didn’t realize your intelligence was almost its’ equal.”
“BRAT!” roared the Valiant Patriarch, “how dare you insult my family like that.” Wave after wave of Heaven qi rushed out.
“Sir, I didn’t mean to offend such a magnificent being but I did realize he was the sap of your family tree, so I couldn't help but insult him. If you have anyone to blame you can only blame him,” Lintian said and pointed at Michael with a hint of sarcasm.
“Insolence!” roared the Patriarch, but he still held back. Even through Lintian was being outrages, he still has to hold himself back due to his position. If he of the older generation were to act on the younger generation he would have no face at all after this party.
Chelsie’s father Jackson on the other hand sat high up in the balcony enjoying this fiasco. His wife Lilian’s face was filled with worry. Lintian was almost like a son to her. Lintian would come over to their Mansion at least 3 times a week and Lilian could see how happy Lintian makes her. She only has one daughter and seeing a talented, smart, innocent boy like Lintian who makes her daughter happy was not something that happens everyday. She was the main wife but after giving birth to Chelsie she was never able to conceive a son for him. Due to this Jackson has two other mistresses. Those mistresses conceive a total of 6 children for him.
“Patriarch please calm down,” someone to the side of the Patriarch whispered. This person dressed in black was one of the Elders of the Valiant clan.
“Father,” Michael’s voice echoed, “this is but a bug, no need for you to get work up about.” He then turns to look at Lintian. “Lintian, my family and I are fair people therefore we will not use force to directly oppress you.”
It was not like you can to begin with, Lintian snickered to himself but I like where this is going. The people in the party was looking at Lintian in disdain. All they see right now is the righteous Valiant family and an evil worm trying to ruin happiness.
Ignoring all this Lintian calmly said, “So what do you propose we do? I have been friends with Chelsie for more than six years and I might not have the right to object but I simply cannot see trash like you trying to forcefully make her marry you.”
Michael eyebrows knitted together. “No one force anyone to get married. It was a mutual consent on both parties. You have been calling me trash since the moment Chelsie and I got engaged. Would you care for a little wager to see who is really trash?”
“Wager?” Lintian laughs, “You took the words right out of my mouth. What do you want to wager?”
“Your life,” Michael grinned. The whole room gasped. A life wager is the same as slavery. The loser’s life will be in the winner’s hand for life. Some even imprint an obedience formation seal to be directly applied onto a person’s soul becoming death sworn soldiers.

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

Chains of Dominion
If Jake wins the local Fantasy Tactics Online tournament, he’ll have everything he’s ever dreamed of — a ticket out of town and the attention of a beautiful woman. However, this woman has more planned for him than a bus ride to the local metropolis. She teleports him back to her Realm and declares him her Master… and says it’s up to him to save the world. No pressure. Rival Dominions vie for power, and they are all far larger and more organized than Jake’s rag-tag group of women, but he has two advantages: the rules of this world are eerily similar to those of Fantasy Tactics Online, and his wildest dirtiest sexual fantasies act as a power multiplier for his all-female army. Warning: The heroes have intense tactical battles, wild kinky sex, and near-constant flirtation. The villains are disturbing and cruel. If the idea of villains doing bad things bothers you, please do not read books ever, but especially don’t read this one.

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.
