Book 2 Chapter 20:Coming Down From 40 Floors
Then Lintian heard a voice in his earpiece from Kristina and Joe, “relax your jaw and body.” The instant Lintian activated that grenade they were able to see it on their computer screen.
Lintian followed that order instantly and slacken his jaws as the grenade landed on the floor. This was the first time he used the grenade. Joe handed it to him and explained how it works just three days ago without giving him a chance to practice it. Therefore he didn’t want to use it earlier and waited for this dire situation to use it. Like right now.
Then just a split-second after he said f*ck and slacken his jaw an explosion sounds out from the grenade and sending out an invisible tidal wave of sound that was charging throughout the whole building like a stampede of rhinos.
Faced with this force everyone tensed up, tightens their jaws to embrace the force. Sadly enough that was the wrong choice. The sound shattered all the windows, ear drums and teeth within a 50 meter radius. Lintian also flew backwards from the force of impact and so did everyone else in the blast radius. All these cultivators felt like they were assaulted from every direction possible. They were knocked out instantly after having their teeth, and ear drums shattered. Also their bones cracked under the intense vibration from the grenade. Furthermore the force of the bomb slammed them onto the wall creating a mini them.
The ones that were not knocked out were in a daze without a chance to recover.
This was a special type of bomb made by Joe. It is a sound bomb. It releases an enormous wave of vibrations and high pitch sound that no one can hear. The vibrations would pass through the body and the tenser someone is the more damage they would recieve. Wearing an earplug will protect you from the sound but not the dense vibration. It takes two steps to work. First step is the release of that soft qi energy which coats all the air and ground molecules. Then it launches a sonic boom and sound vibration that will cause a reaction and activate the qi in the air. This causes the tidal wave of sound and the high pitch noise. This would normally K.O. any cultivator under the King’s Realm. For those under the Heaven’s realm it is an annoying weapon. Almost unblock-able.

The reason it works is because of human reaction. The weak wave lower everyone’s guard and then the sonic boom coming later caused everyone to tense up like a flight or fight response. Then it is game over for everyone.
Seeing their expression, Lintian couldn't help but smile. Covering himself in the fazing energy Lintian felt the frequency of the ground and begins to descend from floor to floor. Luckily they were all knocked out. Every time Lintian fazes through the floor he would stop at that floor for half a breath worth of time before descending again. This was due to gravity. If he was not stopping on every floor for half a second then his speed would constantly built up and by the time he reaches the ground floor he would just be a pile of meat. This was due to the force of gravity.
The equation for calculating the velocity of a falling object is 0.5 times 9.8mps times time squared. (0.5x9.8xt^2) That square of time makes a huge difference. If assumes it takes Lintian 15 seconds to fall from 40 floors then the math would be 0.5*9.8*15*15 which equals 1102.5 meters per second. That I can very much say can cause Lintian to be as flat as a pancake when he hits the ground.
The speed of a regular bullet is equal to 343 meters per second. This is equal to a car driving or a plane flying at 768 miles an hour. Now if Lintian didn't stop every floor then he would be going at a speed three times the speed of a bullet. Furthermore you are also hitting into solid ground and not some water which would soften your impact.
Even if only took Lintian ten-seconds to fall from the 40th floor the speed of Lintian falling is still slightly faster than a bullet.
Now that the math is out of the way Lintian kept falling and stopping at every floor. The good news was that everyone was rushing to the top 40th floor so no one notices Lintian fazing from floor to floor. After a minute Lintian was finally on the ground floor.

Lintian fazes through the wall and left the building. Outside the building Lintian didn’t know how to escape because he realizes that he was in the back of the building and the backyard was huge. The cold night sky covers Lintian in darkness.
“Hey guys I am at the back of the building how do I get out without being spotted?” Lintian asks through the microphone on his mask.
“I would have you dig a hole but it is not possible. My suggestion is to turn your face back to Micheal’s and just walk in the forest in the back,” Katrina’s voice sounded through the earpiece.
“Ok,” Lintian replied and did just that. After changing his face to Micheal’s Lintian began to run toward the woods in the back of the building.
Due to the commotion upstairs there were not that many people watching this section of the ground. So with the night covering Lintian he was able to run into the forest without any problem.
“Keep going straight,” Joe said.
Lintian kept running straight without looking back. The woods were actually pretty cool and moist. It felt refreshing. After running straight for five minutes Lintian came out from the woods. There were streets, cars and a huge commotion. It was the red light district.
Lintian blends back into the woods and change his whole entire outfit. Change the face of the mask and threw everything else away. Then he waited 5 minutes and used the Emperor’s step to appear on the street. This way if the cameras caught him it would be hard for them to distinguish his face due to the speed of movement.
As Lintian blends into the crowd Lintian saw someone that caught his attention. It was Joe standing in a corner. Lintian lightly jogs up to him. Joe saw a familiar programed face jogging to him out of the corner of his eyes and he turns around and opens a door for him.
Lintian walks through the door. It was a dark building inside. Lintian follows behind Joe and eventually it led him to a car.
“Alright lets take you home,” Joe smiles.
“Sure,” Lintian said and got into the car. Joe followed right behind him.
“Here have some food,” Joe said as he handed Lintian a burger.
“Thanks.”
“So how did you get from the top floor to the bottom floor so fast?” Joe asks.
“I jumped out the window covered in Micheal’s,” Lintian said.
“And you didn't go splat?” Joe asks in astonishment.
“I created a qi string to dangle from one of the poles in the room,” Lintian lies with his mouth full of burger. “It is a secret qi manipulation technique my master taught me.”
“Ok.” Joe decided not to press on since there are stranger events out in the world than someone jumping from a building hanging on to a piece of string.
After a 40 minute ride Lintian finally arrives back at his dorm.
“Oh one more thing,” Joe said.
Lintian turns around and glances at him as his heart began to tap dance.

Killstealer
Unfinished - Apologies to anyone who was reading but I have no current intentions to revisit this story Alex was stuck in a rut: He was nearing thirty, and his career seemed to be going no-where; He used to have plenty of friends at university, but had gradually lost touch with them. He had recently started using a dating site, but truthfully he never quite got over his ex. It could be worse; he didn't spend his nights wallowing in self pity. However, he had a sinking feeling that his life was going no-where fast. When Alex decided to take up an old hobby all he really was looking for was something fun to do on friday nights. Thrust into another world by a mad mage Alex must adapt quickly to survive. Unfortunately, Alex showed up late to game night and ends up stuck with a pretty mediocre character in this game like reality. Alex must learn to survive in this new world; just because it all seems like a giant game doesn't make death any less terrifying. This will be my first attempt at writing litrpg. I wanted to set myself the challenge of writing every week and I think knowing people might be reading it will motivate me. I've always worked much better with external deadlines. FAQ Why should I read this LitRPG? I am writing because I enjoy it and you should read it if you enjoy it. If I had to make an elevator pitch I would start off by saying my MC is a rogue type character, which seems a relatively uncommon character at least based on what I have read. I also strive to make the supporting cast three dimensional characters, and not just caricatures. Finally, I can't forget that this is a LitRPG so I have tried to make a RPG system with depth, and one that makes sense. How often will you release chapters? At least once a week is my goal. I am a nurse with a baby at home, so between my hospital and my baby I won't have time for more unless something dramatically changes. Will there be romance? I won't rule it out as I try to let my characters write their own stories. However, there will NEVER be a harem, it just isn't something I am interested in. Gore, Profanity, and Traumatising Content? I don't intend to have any of these present at obscene levels, but my tolerance might be different to yours. The tags are mostly there to cover me.
