《The New Era Project》Chapter 37: Worsening Situation

While Chu Feng was being chased to tears, the handicap washroom which the t-shirt guy was just at had started to have subtle changes. A dark aura started seep out of the washroom door which is ajar. This aura cannot be seen by the naked eye, however, can be felt similar to a chill down the spine. This aura starts to spread throughout the changeroom and eventually starting to leak out into the pool area.
Sensing this aura, the individual who Feng Ye had met while relieving himself suddenly shows a frantic look beneath his pair of sunglasses. Attracted by the aura, the pale man makes his way to the handicap washroom.
Excitedly, he shoves open the handicap washroom and sees the bloody glowing circle with rune like designs.
In a deep voice the pale man laughs,”It seems someone has so graciously setup such a pleasantly surprised matter for me! With the full possession of these three, it can allow me to speed up the consumption of the host while increasing the number of vessels under my control to a total of four. Hahaha!”
Immediately, the two pupils of the pale man turns a cloudy grey color from the man’s originally blue colored pupils. A dark smog begins to emit from him and wrap up the three unconscious lifeguards. Slowly, this smog penetrates through the pores of each of the three unconscious individuals.
As the seepage of this dark smog continues to accumulate within the each of the unconscious bodies, the sound of cracking bones can be heard from within all the bodies present as it seems each slowly grew an additional centimetre. Each also appeared more muscular as if they had worked out for two years. The three unconscious lifeguards had slowly opened their eyes. They were not shocked as each of their pupils were a light grey color, thus, it is obvious they were all just additional vessels.

The pale man’s appearance changed more drastically. As the main vessel, his body grew two and a half centimetres. He can feel significantly more strength surging through his entire being.
The pale man speaks while he moves tilts his head which results in the cracking sound of the bones in his neck.
“Unexpectedly, the fusion of this dark baleful energy as such great affinity with a spectre like me that it has given an all around strengthening. It seems these three vessels have significantly. Although, the largest change is on oneself. Outside is an entire feast of vessels and nutrition, today is truly my lucky day! Hahahahahaha!”
He kicks open the handicap door and it goes flying several metres away off its hinges. The man and the three new vessels who were formerly lifeguards follow him out onto the deck.
Outside on the deck, warm up is still continuing, however, if no measures had been taken, the Kami Institute would have been a joke.
A long whistle by the lifeguard on duty had already resounded and everyone had been asked to clear the deck and clear the pool.
(Author Note: A long whistle blast means that the pool needs to be closed due to safety reasons.)
Thus, at the moment the scene is quite chaotic as all the swimmers are clearing the pool. The lifeguard had been informed a few minutes earlier that a student was being chased by a strengthened psychopath and that the Kami Institute had sent out a high level instructor and two second year B ranked espers to deal with it. Thus, as per the evacuation emergency plan, the lifeguard will clear the pool and temporarily pause of the event.
Feng Ye who was still warming up is quite confused of this. He quickly gets out of the pool and was able to quickly put on a t-shirt and pants despite dripping wet and within the chaotic, confused situation. He calmly observes the crowd of swimmers exiting the pool and leaving the deck.

At this time, he can hear a pitiful yell in front of the male change room as swimmers try to head over there to evacuate. A few more pitiful yells resound and immediately the entire pool area have been alerted and all attention was focused towards the change room entrance.
Feng Ye also takes a look and sees the pale man with sunglasses that he had met earlier in the washroom with three other males who are dressed in lifeguard attire. The only issue is that each of the lifeguards’ pupils were an unnatural grey color and each seemed to have a blank expression.
The three ”lifeguards” were expressionless and emotionless while they flushed outwards and tried to knockout as many swimmers as possible. After the first several pitiful yells, all the swimmers originally heading to this direction turned in the opposite direction and tried to run.
Unfortunately, they are at a crowded pool deck. The slippery ground and crowded area resulted in the trampling and slipping of many which had resulted in quite a fair amount of injuries. At this time, a stern and strict-looking female lands on the area in front of the expressionless “lifeguards” and the pale man with the swimmers behind her.
In a loud voice she shouts, “Everyone calm down. I am Mito, one of the two high level instructors at Kami Institute. Everyone will make their way away from these change rooms and exit through the guard office at the opposite side of the pool! You will be escorted out of this area by the trained institute personnel. Your cooperation is mandatory!”
Mito looks coldly at the pale man with sunglasses. Obviously, this one looked like the high level enemy in contrast to the three controlled goons.
“Dark magic traces. A tertiary spectre! What is your purpose?”
The pale man laughs, “Haha, someone had so graciously prepared such a feast, naturally, it is my turn to enjoy it.” He licked his lips.
“It seems like besides you, the rest are all ants. Hahaha! No problem. With me here, these three can start feasting ahead of time!”
As his words fall the pale man charged directly into Mito while the three controlled goons immediately separate and run into the crowd of swimmers trying to head to the exit located at the other side of the pool deck.
Immediately, the trained personnel all in formation try to block the aggressive three controlled vessels to no avail. Even with a crowd strategy, they are no match for the three strengthened goons.
Mito clenches her fist. “D*mn!” She calls into the apple smartwatch, “The situation is critical here will need backup as soon as possible. I am being tied down by one, however, three low level goons are causing havoc.”
