《God Must Be Lazy He Allowed a Cultivation Anomaly》33. Docile Rabbits

It has been a few hours since three hairless baby rabbits had been born.
The mother having breast fed its kittens is now busy munching grasses. Kle In's neck felt a little stiff. He has observed the entire kindling of the rabbit. To relieve himself of boredom, he opened the Sub Qi Nodes on his other eye.
From the perspective of his Failed Superman's Eyesight, he confirmed that the babies have all its Major Qi Nodes Opened but the beast core looked like a regular Node and is yet to develop. Finally, like Bloodlined Humans, they do not have traces of Bloodline Qi Nodes and will probably require special circumstance to awaken it like eating pills. Kle In decided to keep them for further observation for now. After ensuring there was adequate food and water supply for the rabbits, he went back up to his room.
Kle In reviewed the data he gathered the data in his mind and sat on his bed. He lamented how this world does not have an accessible science and learning institution.
“Thirty thousand years and still living like primitive people? How could a civilization remain barbaric even after thousands of years?”
Kle In whistled as he knew he can only depend on himself on gathering information. He plans to tour the town tomorrow hoping fate could lead him to something useful.
The higher one's cultivation is, the lesser it needs to sleep, and silent mediation is more than enough to get rested. Kle In meditated until sunrise.
After eating hard bread for breakfast, he went to his alchemy room. He decided to slowly use up the remaining ingredients he had to concoct Foundation Establishment Breakthrough pill and sell or trade it for knowledge. Trading pills is his only way of getting what he wanted

Having conditioned himself the rest of the evening, he placed a few herbs into the cauldron.
Kle In's alchemy skills had improved significantly since he started refining High Tier Two Pills. While he was confident that he can concoct the pills with ease, he never dare rush it.
After an hour, beads of sweat runs through his face as the pill slowly formed. While he was adjusting the impurity of the pill, he suddenly heard metallic clanks coming downstairs.
Like his eyesight, his hearing has improved as well when he became a cultivator. He wanted to ignore it, but the sound became agitatedly louder. Kle In's initial thought was that a burglar intruded the house. He wanted to stop the concoction, but he was afraid that this may lead to an unpredictable explosion causing an entire set of ingredients wasted.
While Kle In was planning what he should do, the noise died down a bit. Even her maid would not cause such disturbance. Kle In could feel his heartbeat. His heart rate was elevated. Having witnessed death a few times, he developed an inexplicable premonition.
Kle In extended his Qi to probe whatever was outside. Doing it while refining a pill was careless but fear has gotten over him. After a few seconds, something passed by his Qi sense. To his relief, it was not a human but a small beast which he is familiar with. He retracted his Qi and looked towards the door.
It was the rabbit that broke through last night. The rabbit was exuding an aura making Kle In feel like he wanted to escape. Kle In was getting ready to get up and open the window to escape when he noticed the rabbit's attention is not him but the cauldron.
He did not act rashly and observed the rabbit that rushed near the cauldron sniffing the traces of medicinal essences he extracted earlier. At this point, Kle In already understood the rabbit was attracted to the pill that is about to be completed.

All of a sudden, the rabbit turned its head towards the door. Kle In was surprised as his attention has been too focused on the rabbit in front of him that he failed to see five other rabbits on the doorstep. They looked like getting ready to fight over the treasure. Kle In estimates the pill needed at least fifteen more minutes before it becomes completely solid.
Kle In looked at the window and decided to escape and while he was preparing himself, the rabbit in front of him suddenly released a smoke. Out of fear, Kle In retracted his Qi and stepped backwards towards the wall and held his breath. Before he knew it, the other rabbits emitted smokes as well covering the room in thick fog blocking his eyes. He could feel at least three rabbits came pouncing towards the newly ascended Mid Condensation Realm rabbit near the cauldron.
The noises indicated the rabbits were fiercely fighting. Although he could not see anything, he could feel the aura of the rabbits and should be able to avoid once he approached the door.
Clang!
He heard the something collided on the cauldron and its lid clanking on the floor after. Kle In panicked and he felt like he could no longer hold his breath and should move now. He had no idea what the smoke was but when he gasped for air, he immediately felt losing control of his body.
Kle In stood paralyzed against the wall with one foot forward. His mind went into overdrive. He tried circulating his Qi. Although he could utilize his Qi, he just realized he had never learned any offensive Qi techniques.
He has no idea what was going on within the thick smoke emitted by the rabbits. He was thinking if there was anything he could move using his Qi to protect himself. There was nothing nearby he could control, so he looked into his spatial ring. Aside from pills, gold coins and dozens of herbs, he found nothing useful.
As the noise slowly subsided, Kle In calmed down a bit then remembered how the rabbit fell into hibernation once fed with Body Enhancement Pill. Although he could not move, he could still retrieve a bottle of pill from his ring.
When the noise went away, he felt like he will be the next target. He did not hesitate and retrieved five bottles, opened them and threw the pills outwards. The pills scattered and bounced on the floor.
Due to panic, he retrieved a few more bottles of pills. He did not have the luxury to check what pills he was throwing. Terrified, he threw the pills towards the door this time.
He suddenly felt groggy.
The pill refinement has taken a toll on his strength and a few minutes of his body on heighten senses further depleted his Qi.
Kle In wanted to stay awake, but he slowly lost consciousness and blacked out due to exhaustion.

STEM: The Topical Dungeon
Inspired by CORE: The Volcanic Dungeon by Ace Arriande and a spiritual successor to my writing prompt series Evolution Barricade, STEM is a series following the reincarnation of Kaden into the fantasy world of Brogdar. Reborn as a "DM" and a plant, Kaden tackles the challenges of being the agent of the chaotic god: trying to be his very own dungeon master. However, unlike other stories, Kaden is often making fun of and dealing with disadvantages that the normal reincarnated hero would never have to worry about. A parody of the normal tropes of isekai, STEM is a periodic series that is intended to release a minimum of once per week. There may be times where there is more than one drop, but those would be special occasions. Additionally, the content tags are simply to try and ensure my readers know these stories can encompass a large variety of things. They may not immediately be in focus, but they will all end up appearing!
