3rd Light beneath the twelfth Moon

722 Years after the Repentance

Dear self,
I think the big tree is still expanding in size. As it is now I could mistake it for a wide built watchtower if I ignored it’s less impressive branches. It seems to have turned into my “half” of the dreamscape with a balanced separation between it and Rahph’s sun rock. With the gloomy darkness beneath the starry sky you could only faintly see the outline of things standing out against the shine of night above.
Rahph seems to have taken to wandering now. He was eying everything interesting that caught his eye and strutting around instead of his usual napping. I had to batter him to get him to leave the little dream sprout I planted the previous night. He wasn’t so much scared away as being pestered until staying wasn’t worth the bother. I’m still tinier than everything compared to how I should be and his chin towers over my head, so I’m not even a fragment of the way towards intimidating him as I am now.
Vamera was still a dim light. The easiest way for an asura like her to recover is to collect a good deal of fervour aligned with their Aspects. Her state right now is mostly my fault, so I tried to think of how to help in her recovery. My best idea is just to try random things and let Happenstance figure out the rest. Serendipity tends to occur if there are multitudes of possible eventuality through which it might occurs, so quickly trying one things and moving on to another wild idea is the best I can come up with. Even with that my affinity is only slightly aligned with Happenstance so there will be even less of the effort getting through to Fortuity to help Vamera. In the dream I wandered around and tried to have whimsy make me stumble upon anything at random. I stumbled upon a deep pit and fell in. Next time I’ll just play a card game or something.

With the winter time coming in earnest the occasional traveller passing through comes into the shop wanting to quickly attune themselves with an item that keeps them warm or dry. A lot of traveller who Gate in to our lovely island are surprised by how cold the winters are and end up being here without as much preparation as they should have. Tintinnabulis being of the King Road also means a lot of people pass by town and visit our shop in the morning after a night’s sleep in one of the inns.
Only one person today needed help with a real problem. His glasses needed adjustment as they weren’t improving his vision as much as they should. The enchantments keeping particles out of his eyes and the ones preventing bright lights from damaging his sight had warped into each other slightly and the vision enhancement was the most vulnerable to the degradation. The enchantments were tightly packed and it just took some strong reinforcement and careful shifting of the workings before it was as good as new. It was as easy as keeping the parts in place while I figured out how to put the pieces back into the correct places. It mostly took patience and a small tolerance for holding my fingers in the same position for a long while. It’s the same as writing for a few hours where your hand begins feeling uncomfortable.
I heard from Nyri that there are adventurers already coming to explore the ruins that had opened. With all the wraiths not even the necromances could help you explore them safely so there is a good chance for finding preserved artefacts anywhere I there if you fancy an escapade. I bought some more Absinthe from her while I was in town. The snow was beginning to pile up as well so the chalk path towards our house was getting narrower with short walls of snow on either side.

I got back to working on my personal projects for the rest of the day. I tried experimenting with animating the joints for the doll in various ways. How I controlled the joints would determine in what ways it would be capable of moving, and I had to consider how much I wanted to imitate anatomically correct movement or let it bend in angles impossible for living beings. When I’m finished fiddling with those I can start creating a lattice to control them as a network of limbs and then figure out how to handle coordination.
For the cloak I needed to teach the Opus how to avoid projecting into unnatural positions or through objects when creating the glamour illusion. What I ended up doing is re-joining the illusion with my real body and then running around and posing in different ways. I just had to create a bridge of intent so that it could use my movements to learn from how to behave naturally in physical space. This is mostly the lazy way to achieve this and it gives me little control over the result. It might learn things differently than I expect, learn bad habits that I did not foresee, or it just might not learn how to adapt what I demonstrated to it with my running around to situations that weren’t identical.
To get a larger sample of constructs I asked Tori to wear it and run around as much as he wanted. He became very eager when I turned it into a game of me chasing and him evading. Even without the glamour illusion the cloak helped him avoid capture and even made him harder to notice, but not nearly as significantly as before. The largest benefit is that this will hasten the cloaks ability to interpret its user’s intent in order to manipulate how it is projecting the glamour illusion. It might be useful to control the illusion as a façade without needing to think about it to much, and have it stand differently to however your real body is standing.
Hope we fare well.
Regards,
Me.

Bastard's Wrath
The Wyvern reared its humongous head, serpent neck coiling back, onyx scales of opulence shimmering in the dimness of the cloud smothered sky. It spoke, eye's ashen, like the surface of a star, "What is it you desire, boy?" The word's rolled from it's pointed maw, tongue flicking, it's deep and ferocious voice sending the ground below rumbling. Damien looked up, hair sodden with rain, his face battered beyond recognition, his lips curled into a snarl. He had gone past the point of being frightened; he was tired of his weakness. He spoke, voice wavering, mist floating from his mouth in the coldness: "I want them dead. I want everyone who stabbed me in the back; dead." The Wyvern smiled, rows of teeth exposed, "Then sacrifice it. Sacrifice your humanity." - The story of a bastard within a crippled family, who beyond all odds becomes known as the Greatest Swordsman to live: the one that, even the Gods, would someday fear.
